Chapter 187: A Visit From A God
"Okay... I’ll do it," Christopher said, raising a finger into the air. He turned to the goddess, a flicker of concern in his eyes. "I hope nothing will happen to Advika."
"She is safe. If something happens, I will bear the pain," the goddess replied, her gaze steady. A hint of a smile touched her lips as she asked:
"Are you so worried about her? Do you love her?"
"......?!"
Christopher was stunned by the question. He hadn’t thought about it, and he wasn’t sure if he loved her or not. He only knew that he cared for her deeply.
Understanding his silence, the goddess simply nodded. "Do it."
Christopher nodded in return. Before everyone’s eyes, a small, brilliant blue flame ignited on the tip of his finger. "This will sting," he warned, then pointed his finger at Advika, unleashing the primordial flame.
WHOOSH!!
BAM!!
The flame struck Advika, but it was the goddess who grimaced in pain.
"Strange... this flame doesn’t attack the body, but the soul," the goddess mused, her voice calm despite the pain.
"It also seems to pass through all defenses. If you used this against someone weak, that person might suffer something far worse than death." She then added:
"You are still weak, so the flame’s strength is weak. Find a way to get stronger."
’Something worse than death? What type of attack is this?’ Leyla, who stood a short distance away, thought in surprise.
’Christopher is already strong enough to protect himself... Can I... No! Although he is stronger than me, I can still protect him. If I can’t, I will do anything to stand by his side!’
WHOOSH!!!
A wave of flames suddenly erupted around Advika, shooting into the air and forcing Christopher to take a few steps back.
"Did... Did she succeed?" Christopher muttered in shock.
"Just watch the show," Tiamat said, appearing beside him in her phantom form.
The very next moment:
"AHHHHH!!!!!"
"...?!?"
Everyone was stunned as Advika dropped to her knees, screaming in agony.
"Make it stop!!" she yelled, her body wracked with pain.
Christopher quickly withdrew the flames, his expression unreadable as he stared at her.
"What happened?!" the Fire Goddess cried out, now on her knees.
Tiamat’s phantom form floated towards her, a cruel smirk on her face. "Oh, big sister... you wanted to copy a power given to my disciple by the Supreme King? Isn’t that looking for death?"
"......?!?"
The Fire Goddess’s eyes widened in horror. "What?!!" she screamed, turning to Christopher. "Why didn’t you say anything?!"
"How would I know it has such importance?" Christopher countered.
"You bastard!" She then turned back to Tiamat, her voice pleading.
"Little sister! Please, nothing should happen to my disciple!"
’Now what’s going on here? Are there invisible people among us?’ Leyla thought, confused.
"This is getting me confused."
She looked over her shoulder and saw Adonis and their group walking toward them.
"Just stay here and watch," Leyla said, stopping them with a raised hand. The group looked at each other and nodded, staying put.
_
Tiamat smiled sweetly.
"I don’t know what to do, big sister... Maybe he does," she said, gesturing to Christopher, who stood behind her.
"Huh? Me! Hey! I don’t know how to help her here!!" Christopher quickly said, throwing his hands up in protest.
"Besides, she said she could handle it."
BOOOM!!
As if on cue, the crack in the sky that was releasing the life force tide suddenly exploded, causing everyone in the world to look up in shock.
Before their eyes, two massive golden eyes appeared, and a pressure of unknown magnitude descended, forcing everyone to their knees—men, women, and beasts alike, regardless of their strength or rank.
"What the hell?!" Christopher asked in shock, struggling against the immense force.
CRACK!!
".......?!"
Tiamat’s eyes widened in horror as the ground beneath them began to crack.
"This?!" She looked up at the crack in the sky. "The Supreme King!"
_____
[Second Continent]
The Wind Spirit gritted her teeth, her body trembling with pain as she stared at the golden eyes in the sky, forced to her knees.
"Who angered the Supreme King?!" she yelled in horror.
_____
[Third Continent]
The Earth Spirit looked up at the sky, a small, sad smile on his face.
"How ironic, someone from our small world even angered the Supreme King..." He sighed, his gaze sweeping over the surrounding trees, watching as each one began to dry up and wither.
"The Supreme King is too powerful... Just his eyes are slowly destroying the Core of this world... If he comes here..." He sighed softly.
"I just hope that person asked for forgiveness, or the whole world will get destroyed."
______
[Somewhere in the border of the first and second Continent]
BAM!
The huge Half-Celestial stage crocodile dropped to the ground, vomiting a mouthful of blood. It looked around in horror, its eyes fixed on the two golden eyes in the sky.
"What is this?!" it asked, its voice trembling.
_______
[Dark Cave]
BOOOM!!
The Origin of Darkness raised its head, staring up at the eyes in the sky:
"Did... Did he... No! He can’t come here. But what happened?!" It asked in shock and horror.
____
[Back to Christopher]
Everyone watched as the two golden eyes scanned the world below, finally settling on the Fire Goddess.
"I am so sorry, my Lord!! I made a mistake!! You can punish me, but please, don’t kill my disciple!!!" she yelled, her voice filled with desperation.
The eyes stared at her for a few seconds, not uttering a single word.
BOOOM!!
More cracks appeared on the ground, spreading like a web of destruction.
Everyone stared at the eyes, which slowly closed and then disappeared, taking with them the life force tide.
Instantly, the sky closed, and the overwhelming pressure vanished.
Adonis, Katherine, Leyla, Sunny, Xing, and everyone else dropped to the ground, breathing heavily, their bodies slick with sweat.
"I... I thought I was dead." Chloe said in relief, her voice trembling.
"Those eyes... Who is this Supreme King?" Adonis asked, looking up at the now clear blue sky.
"So powerful... What rank is he on?" Sunny asked.
"In a rank we can’t even dream of entering," Phoenix answered.
Christopher slowly stood up and looked at his group, who were all lying on the ground. He then turned to Advika, seeing that she was sleeping peacefully, Hellfire lied beside her in its non-combat form.
"It seems the Supreme King helped her," Tiamat said in surprise.
"Help her? How?" Christopher asked, staring at Advika, not seeing anything different about her.
"Her flames, they now burn hotter than ever." Tiamat answered.
"Is that even possible?" Christopher whispered in disbelief.
"With the Supreme King, everything is possible... As I said, he has control of everything in this world." Tiamat pointed at the ground.
"Look."
Christopher watched in stunned silence as the cracks in the earth started to close up, the ground returning to its original state.
BOOM!
"...?!?"
Sunny and the rest of the group, who were still on the ground, quickly stood up, their eyes wide with shock as they looked around the city. The buildings, houses, and roads that had been destroyed were all reconstructing themselves. The skyscraper that had been leveled by Advika and Leyla’s powers rebuilt itself to its full glory, not even a scratch visible on the glass.
"What?!" Chloe dropped to her knees, staring at their beautiful city, completely lost for words.
"......?!"
Adonis was dumbfounded, staring at the ground they were standing on, not a single speck of ash could be seen.
"Is this even possible?" Xing asked, looking for any trace of the dead bodies and skeletons.
Christopher looked up at the sky and smiled slightly, a strange mix of relief and awe on his face.
_____
[Barricade]
The soldiers all stood in a daze, their guns on the ground, their eyes fixed on the beautiful city and streets before them, which were now pristine.
______
[Shelter]
Zenith and Philip stood on their beasts, staring at Cordelia, their faces a mix of shock and disbelief.
"What happened?" Philip asked in confusion.
"How... How is Cordelia more beautiful than before?" Zenith asked, her voice filled with wonder.
She lowered her gaze to the barricade, seeing that the soldiers were just as confused.
"Did those eyes? Who owns those eyes?" she asked, a sense of reverence in her voice.
"I don’t know, but I am grateful to whoever it belongs to... From now on, he is my god," Philip said, while Zenith smiled lightly in agreement.
"Yes."
_____
[Unknown Realm.]
A slight frown etched itself on Michael’s face as he rubbed his temples.
"My King!"
The voice was a familiar thunder, belonging to the massive, crimson wolf with dragon wings who dropped to his knees, his gaze fixed on Michael with unwavering devotion.
"It’s nothing," Michael said, waving a hand dismissively. "Just a small headache from using so much power."
The wolf, Reaper, waited patiently for his King’s next command.
"What’s next, my King?" He asked.
Michael’s golden eyes met Reaper’s red ones, a steely glint in their depths. "Are the commanders ready?"
"Yes." Reaper replied, his voice firm with conviction. "Every single one of them stands ready to answer your call!"
With a slow, deliberate motion, Michael rose to his feet, his hands disappearing into the pockets of his overcoat. A new resolve hardened his features.
"It seems there has been a change in our plans," he announced, his voice low but commanding.
"Get ready, Reaper. The time is drawing close."
Reaper simply nodded, understanding the unspoken weight of the words.
Without another sound, their combined gazes shifted to the swirling, miniature world that floated before them—Christopher’s small world, a silent promise of the chaos to come.
