Chapter 113: Chapter 77: The Broken Mysterious Era
A phrase like "loser and waste" immediately set Fox Fairy Nannan ablaze with anger, her forehead full of black lines. If she wasn’t currently constrained by someone, Fox Fairy Nannan would surely fight it out with the other person.
It’s too insulting to foxes!
"I may not be able to pass through barriers, but I can move through gaps, no matter how small they are, nothing can stop me." Nannan Ancestor wanted to defend herself; she’s definitely not a useless person.
However, Zhang Chen ignored Fox Fairy Nannan’s defense and instead held the Luminous Pearl in his hand, stood in front of the dark and deep stone wall, gazing at the wall in thought, struggling to recall the fragments of memories from his dreams.
"It shouldn’t be! How did it happen? The Empress Tomb was obviously buried next to the True Dragon Tomb, how could it disappear? Even the Fox Spirit didn’t notice?" Zhang Chen found it incredible. If he didn’t know that the Fox Spirit had already become his skill and could not lie to him, he would have suspected that the Fox Spirit was deceiving him.
"Did you make a mistake? Or did you get lost inside the stone wall? There is clearly an Ancient Divine Beings’ tomb behind the stone wall, how could you not discover it?" Zhang Chen turned his head to look at the Fox Spirit, seeking confirmation once again.
"Impossible! There is no place within a hundred miles that I’m unfamiliar with! I’ve examined all the mountains and rivers surrounding the True Dragon Tomb and haven’t found the tomb you mentioned at all. How could there be another tomb without me noticing?" Fox Fairy Nannan’s voice was full of certainty, responding firmly.
Upon hearing the words of Nannan Ancestor, Zhang Chen’s thoughts flickered as he pondered where the problem lay: "Could it be that the movement of tectonic plates over eons caused the Empress Tomb to move away with the tectonic shifts?"
Thinking about it, it seemed unlikely. The True Dragon Tomb’s position hadn’t shifted at all, how could the Empress Tomb have moved so far away?
Zhang Chen stood in front of the stone wall, deliberating. The only way to verify now was to break the stone wall himself and dig inside to see whether the Empress Tomb is there.
"Isn’t your brain malfunctioning, having delusions? How do you know there is really an Ancient Divine Beings’ tomb here? Could you really uncover such a creation?" Fox Fairy Nannan suddenly paused, having thought of the mysterious ability Zhang Chen possessed, she swallowed back her taunting words.
"Are you really sure there’s an Ancient Divine Beings’ tomb here?" Fox Fairy Nannan saw Zhang Chen standing silently in front of the stone wall in thought, and approached to ask, her voice tinged with a hint of flattery.
There’s nothing she can do, the situation is out of her control. How desperate she was! She’s become someone else’s skill without clarity or understanding, and calling for help from heaven or earth was useless.
"Of course! There must be a tomb here! And it’s from Ancient Times." Zhang Chen assuredly stated.
"Now that you mention it, I do have some ideas." The Fox Spirit said to Zhang Chen.
"What do you mean?" Zhang Chen turned his head to look at the Fox Spirit, his eyes full of exploratory curiosity.
"I had suspected there might be another tomb here, because years ago in that earth crevice, I found several pieces of Ancient Celestial Emperor Era coins. But later, after searching every place within a hundred miles, I couldn’t find any clues. I only thought those coins were accidentally left by ancient people. I didn’t delve deeper. Now thinking about it, how could Ancient Coins appear in the True Dragon Tomb?" Fox Fairy Nannan said.
"Where did you find the coins?" Zhang Chen’s eyes immediately lit up upon hearing this.
"Inside that crevice opened by an earthquake," Fox Fairy Nannan gestured towards the gap split open by the earthquake.
Zhang Chen came to the opening of the earthquake crevice, carefully observing it. The gap was one meter wide, and below it was an abyss of darkness, with only the sound of swift water currents hitting the stone walls echoing in the narrow gap, clearly resonating into Zhang Chen’s ears.
Without any hesitation, Zhang Chen activated his skill and saw Fox Fairy Nannan looking bewildered as her spirit automatically reacted, lunging towards Zhang Chen.
"My current body isn’t heavy, especially after years of being bullied by the Fox Spirit, leading to underdevelopment. My weight shouldn’t exceed a hundred, right? Fox Fairy Nannan can lift a hundred pounds, so carrying me should be just right."
"Does this count as Flying in the Sky? I could travel anywhere in the world like this!" Zhang Chen’s mind suddenly lit up with a thought.
But soon, Zhang Chen was disappointed. Despite Fox Fairy Nannan gritting her teeth and exerting effort, she couldn’t move Zhang Chen’s body an inch. Trying to force it caused them to stumble, and Zhang Chen and the Fox Spirit rolled into a heap:
"What are you doing?! Are you taking advantage of me?! I don’t even have a corporeal body, and you won’t even spare my soul?!" Fox Fairy Nannan’s spirit was hugging Zhang Chen’s body in a rather suggestive position, but because she couldn’t lift him and stumbled, she ended up cushioning Zhang Chen’s fall, hitting her head so hard it got deformed.
"Over a hundred pounds! The idea of Flying in the Sky is ruined! Should I go on a diet?" Seeing Fox Fairy Nannan gritting her teeth and struggling to get out from under him, Zhang Chen’s eyes showed a trace of disappointment: "Have I been eating so well lately?"
"No, it’s not that I’m too heavy, it’s that this Fox Spirit is too useless!" Zhang Chen suddenly realized, he was only half-grown, barely over a hundred pounds, how could a seventh-tier Great Demon not even lift him? Isn’t she just a waste?
