Chapter 127: Chapter 126: Don’t Ask—It’s Always First Love
As for Long Dan Ni and their visit, naturally it was led by Mr. Shao. Of course, as the big boss, I wouldn’t be idly available to entertain them. After sending them back to the company, I instructed the driver and headed directly back to the Shanghai Theatre Academy.
Once business at the company was taken care of, I wasn’t interested in staying any longer.
The elegant car traveled slowly but soon arrived at the Shanghai Theatre Academy.
"You can head back for now. I’ll call you when I need the car," I said.
The driver, Xu Bo, is an earnest young man, not much older than me by five or six years. However, he’s been working as a full-time driver for seven years, which means he started as soon as he could legally drive. He should have some connection with Mr. Shao, and that’s probably how he got recommended to be my driver. He’s honest, and I’m quite satisfied with him.
"No need; I’ll just find a hotel nearby. When President Gu needs the car, just let me know, and I’ll come as quickly as possible."
This has happened a few times. I know I can’t persuade this earnest guy, so I didn’t try. I simply nodded and got out of the car, heading straight to the dormitory.
When I opened the door, everyone was there.
"Oh, a rare guest!"
"Minister Gu is back?"
Except for Lou Xun, who has always been a man of few words, Deng Bo and Wen Cunming directly teased me.
Hearing the title "Minister Gu" from Wen Cunming, I casually closed the door and asked, "Minister? What minister?"
"Don’t you know?"
Wen Cunming thought I had known long ago.
I took off my suit and tossed it onto the clothes rack beside my bed, shaking my head, "Tell me what’s going on."
"It’s posted on the school bulletin board. The new student council appointments have been completed. You’re the new head of the External Liaison Department of the college student council, didn’t anyone inform you?"
Upon hearing Wen Cunming’s words, I was speechless.
Previously, the dean mentioned wanting me to take a position in the student council, but I found it bothersome and didn’t take it seriously. I even intentionally didn’t submit the application for Lu Ang. Who would have guessed that after a few days of not attending school, I’d become the head of the External Liaison Department by their inside decision?
The dean and the director are real old foxes. No other position was given, just the head of the External Liaison Department. They know that with my social resources, this is a great advantage for the school since the main responsibility of the External Liaison Department is to secure funds to ensure the smooth operation of school activities. Now that I’m the head, the school will probably save a lot on event expenses.
However, I didn’t really mind. In my heart, the time I have to be a proper student is getting less and less. I might as well enjoy the involvement while I can.
Even after taking off the suit, the tight-fitting shirt was uncomfortable, so I unbuttoned a few buttons around the neck, which made me feel much better.
Seeing me in full business attire, Deng Bo couldn’t help asking, "Why are you dressed like that?"
"Bought a company," I replied casually, grabbing an untouched drink from Deng Bo’s desk and downing it.
Rationally, Deng Bo knew he shouldn’t ask further, as it would just aggravate himself. But his curiosity got the better of him, and he continued, "What company? How much?"
Hearing this, I glanced at him, teasing, "Do you really want to know?"
Hesitating for three seconds, Deng Bo gritted his teeth and said, "Tell me!"
Even Lou Xun and Wen Cunming perked their ears up.
"An entertainment company. You know Future Son? It’s produced by this company. As for the price, nine figures starting with 2."
"Smack!"
Shortly after I finished speaking, Deng Bo gave himself a hard slap.
"Damn, I’m such a masochist!"
Seeing him like this, I couldn’t help but laugh. With my increasingly frequent large-scale investments and acquisitions, it’s only a matter of time before I become exposed to the public. I have nothing to hide now, especially with the Level 2 System backing me up; I no longer have to worry about being inspected or anything.
Taking some casual clothes from my wardrobe, I planned to take a shower. As I headed to the bathroom, I asked Deng Bo, "How’s it going with that internet celebrity?"
Hearing my question, Deng Bo chuckled slyly.
Before he could respond, Wen Cunming answered for him.
"These past few nights, I’ve been the only one left alone in the dorm. They just returned tonight."
"Oh?"
"This guy Lou Xun is too tight-lipped. Asked where he’s been, and he wouldn’t say. Based on my guess, he must have fallen in love.
As for Deng Bo, well, you can just forget about it. Just look at him closely, in just a few days, he’s lost a circle of weight. Luckily, I lost contact with the internet celebrity I added on WeChat that day. The thought of suffering this kind of torment makes my legs tremble."
Although the tone was dismissive, the strong scent of jealousy filled the noses of everyone present.
I knew Lou Xun was introverted, and pressing him for answers would yield nothing, so I didn’t probe further and instead turned to Deng Bo, "Went all the way?"
Not the innocent young man anymore, Deng Bo confidently admitted.
"The skills are definitely good! Honestly, if it weren’t for my body being truly overwhelmed, I wouldn’t want to come back and sleep tonight. I plan to recuperate for a couple of days before going back to battle!"
"Take it easy, youth is unaware of the cost of indulging, and when old, looks back with tears of emptiness. These are lessons written from the personal experiences of many who came before us."
As someone who hasn’t stopped for over a month, with vitality dropping 12 points, I have the right to advise Deng Bo to exercise restraint.
Waving his hand, Deng Bo said, "Do you think this comes free? Just these few days, I’ve asked my mom for tens of thousands. Even if it means dying on her, I must recover some costs!"
Not just me, even Wen Cunming and Lou Xun couldn’t bear listening, and rolled their eyes heavily.
As I was about to enter the bathroom, the always silent Lou Xun asked me, "Gu Bai, you have some experience in these things. Can you give me some advice?"
"?"
I looked at him, puzzled.
Lou Xun smiled awkwardly at first, then asked, "The girlfriend I’m seeing now always asks me if she is my first love. She seems to care a lot about this. But before her, I had one relationship. Should I lie to her or tell the truth?"
After hearing his question, I secretly laughed in my heart. Indeed, the views on relationships of a sincere guy like Lou Xun are different from those of a scoundrel like me. This question wouldn’t even be a question for Deng Bo and Wen Cunming.
However, faced with the innocent Lou Xun, I kindly provided him with an answer.
"Don’t ask! Just say she’s your first love. No matter how many came before, they were all just rehearsals for her!"
After answering, I went straight into the bathroom, leaving Lou Xun pondering and Deng Bo and Wen Cunming stifling their laughter.
