Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Is It Time to Give Birth?
The villa was brightly lit while everyone was in a flurry preparing to go to the hospital.
At this moment, Elias Lancaster was flanked by Theodore Lynch and Henry Fletcher.
A sudden loud bang came from ahead.
The two of them simultaneously shielded Elias and dived down.
Elias pushed them away and looked forward.
The crossfire had knocked down a tree.
As they moved forward, they already saw the enemy forces.
"Master Lancaster, you can’t go any further. Stay here, we’ll go," said Henry Fletcher.
Elias waved his hand and continued forward, leading his team straight toward the enemy camp.
This time, he came with three or four hundred men and planned not to linger in this lawless Delta area; his strategy was to locate the targets and end the conflict within an hour.
Looking at the buildings not far ahead, he turned to Theodore Lynch.
"Take your team and draw their fire that way."
"Okay."
"You take your team to the other side."
Henry Fletcher looked at him, "No, I can’t leave your side."
"Go quickly, I have Sean Scott here, there won’t be any problem."
Sean nodded.
With a layout provided by a scout, Elias led a team into the building.
Just as they reached the second floor, an alarm blared.
Suddenly, a large number of armed men appeared, all aiming their weapons at Elias’s team.
Straightforward gunfire ensued, bang after bang, and bullet traces were everywhere.
Sean Scott leaned against Elias’s back.
"Master Lancaster, you go rescue the hostages, I’ll hold them off."
"Quick resolution," Elias ordered, as both sides fiercely battled.
"Master Lancaster, retreat immediately; this doesn’t match the number we were given.
Meanwhile, a man on the fifth floor watched Elias on the screen.
His expression changed, "They’re coming up so fast."
Elias, going all out, charged up to the third floor swiftly.
As he searched the last room, a furious roar erupted from within.
"Get out..."
The moment they heard the roar, Sean Scott and the others instinctively lunged toward Elias.
Simultaneously, an explosion occurred, and the massive impact flung Elias and his team away.
The smoke cleared, and Sean Scott got up only to collapse again.
"Sean!"
Elias caught him, staring at the bright red liquid flowing from his chest.
His face changed, and he signaled two subordinates, "Take him back."
Sean’s serious injury infuriated Elias, making him even more ruthless than before.
He fought his way up to the command room on the fifth floor.
Those on the fifth floor were not surprised.
"Master Lancaster, you really dare to come here and rescue them?"
Elias stared at him expressionlessly.
"What’s here that I’m not supposed to see?"
The man sneered, "Master Lancaster, you’re truly meddling."
As he spoke, he pulled out a gun, but...
Elias was faster, pressing his gun against the man’s forehead.
"Cut the crap; where are the people?"
Elias knocked him out and had him tied up.
He glanced around the room, "Search."
Finally, Elias found the father and son of The J Keaton Family in the room at the end of the fifth-floor hallway.
Just as he was about to leave the room, he sensed something was off.
Reacting quickly, Elias pushed them out; then he felt a wave of heat rushing at him, and the next moment he was thrown back.
In a daze, he seemed to see Serena Yeats.
She was smiling brightly at him.
"Elias, you must come back for the baby with me."
Then, he vaguely heard someone calling him.
The next second.
Everything went black, and he knew nothing more.
Serena Yeats endured the constant pain from her abdomen.
"Serena, don’t be scared, we’re almost at the hospital," Old Madam Lancaster soothed her.
Seeing Serena in such pain, yet not making a sound, biting her lip to endure.
"Serena, don’t be afraid, I’m here, we’re all here with you," Old Madam Lancaster gently caressed Serena’s face.
Covered in sweat, she finally had a brief respite as the contractions eased.
"Mom, please get the baby’s things from the room," Serena weakly requested.
"Alright, I’ll go right away." Old Madam Lancaster went to retrieve items from the two nurseries Elias had prepared, packing them up.
Nanny Livingston busily gathered Serena’s belongings, making sure to bring everything necessary.
Ten minutes later, Old Madam Lancaster returned to find Serena practicing deep breathing as her doctor had instructed, signaling the contractions were back.
She looked at the doctor with concern, "Isn’t there something to relieve it?"
The doctor shook her head helplessly.
"Madam, natural childbirth requires these contractions; it’s only just begun, and Young Madam’s cervix is opening slowly."
Old Madam Lancaster’s expression changed.
"Does this mean she’ll be in pain for a long time?"
The doctor nodded regretfully; it was still too early for an epidural.
Serena heard this and instantly felt she’d rather die.
But when she thought of the two lovely babies she was about to have, hers and Elias’s babies, she resolved to mentally brace herself.
She believed she could endure it.
Nanny Livingston helped Serena change into new clothes.
Nia Irving came in, immediately lifted Serena up, and carried her out.
Nanny Livingston and Old Madam Lancaster followed closely behind, afraid Nia might accidentally drop Serena while descending the stairs.
Serena bit her lip hard, battling the contractions.
Five minutes later.
Six cars departed one after another from the villa.
Old Master Lancaster sat in another car, clutching his phone tightly, then dialed a number.
The call still didn’t go through, his face darkened, feeling a sense of unease throughout the day.
It was as if something bad was about to happen.
Weighing the pros and cons, he decided to have someone bring Old Master Keaton to the hospital.
Six cars raced to the hospital.
They discreetly entered a Lynch Corporation-owned hospital.
At the special entrance of the hospital parking lot, Renee Aniston and a team of doctors and nurses awaited.
As soon as the cars stopped, the medical staff rushed over.
The bodyguards exited first to assess the surrounding conditions, ensuring safety before opening the car door.
Nia Irving quickly got out, bent down, and placed Serena on a gurney.
Old Madam Lancaster held her hand tightly, "Serena, does it hurt more now? Don’t be scared, we’re at the hospital."
Serena, her face pale from pain, smiled at her.
"Mom, I’m fine, it’s just that it comes in waves."
Realizing the contractions had resumed, the doctor quickly wheeled the bed towards the elevator.
Before Elias left, he had arranged for Serena’s delivery in the Lynch Corporation’s VIP floor, exclusively reserved for her.
As they exited the elevator, bodyguards were already stationed; the floor was quiet and secure.
Once out of the elevator, Serena was taken into the examination room, with Old Madam Lancaster never leaving her side.
Prepared, the doctor asked Serena to remove her pants.
Despite the pain being so immense that her consciousness began to blur, upon hearing the request, Serena instinctively guarded her pants and looked over at Old Madam Lancaster.
