Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Something Happened to Serena
But he also didn’t dare to forcibly stop her from going to school. She already had depressive tendencies, and if he forced her, the situation might become even more complicated.
It had to be her own choice to come to terms with it.
He gently laid her on the bed and reached out to wipe away the tears on her face.
The next day.
Serena Yeats got up to freshen up. She had classes this morning and walked into the bathroom, catching a glimpse of herself in the mirror.
She startled herself; this pale face with dark eye circles looked like Morwen at first glance.
As soon as the toothpaste entered her mouth, her stomach started churning, leading to a bout of vomiting as spasms in her stomach hit her along with tears streaming down her face.
She slowly cleaned herself up. As soon as she opened the door, Elias Lancaster was waiting outside.
"Serena, morning."
"Uncle, morning."
Elias noticed she looked even worse than yesterday and felt at a loss, supporting her down the stairs for breakfast.
She had no appetite; after just two bites, she put down her utensils.
When she got to school for classes, she was mentally exhausted. Her mind was a mess, and she couldn’t understand a lot of the lessons in one class.
At noon, she went to find Nanny Livingston for food, intending to return to her dormitory to rest well after eating, in hopes of regaining energy for the afternoon classes.
But Katherine Sinclair and Phoebe Collins wouldn’t leave her alone, bluntly saying she was selling herself to an older man and would sell to anyone for money.
Serena just took two bites of food before she couldn’t help but rush to the bathroom to throw up, feeling the world spin around her.
And they still wouldn’t let her go.
"What’s wrong with her? Could it be that she went out to sell herself and got pregnant by some sugar daddy?"
"I think she does look like she’s pregnant."
"Yeah, just look, she’s even using the latest model of a phone. Isn’t that a clear sign she went out to sell?"
"Serena Yeats, do you have several sugar daddies? Can an old man satisfy you?"
"I think she’d probably need to take some medicine to satisfy herself. Her appetite can’t be small after being used to it."
"Hey, if she accompanies several people a day, can she handle it?"
"Maybe she’s a master of time management."
"Hahaha..."
"You’re so annoying, always speaking the harsh truth."
"What if, when the old man drops her off at school one day, someone takes a photo, what then?"
"Yeah, it’s better for such people to leave quickly, so they don’t drag us down."
"Exactly, and she’s sharing the same dorm with us."
"This won’t do. We need to inform the tutor. This really tarnishes the school’s reputation."
With that, they went to find the tutor.
Serena came out of the bathroom, hearing their words of humiliation, and they even mentioned looking for the tutor.
Her legs became weak, and she was bewildered, walking to the bedside and sitting down. In her mind, Elias Lancaster’s face appeared, and she instinctively picked up the phone to call him.
The call was quickly connected.
"Serena."
Elias’s gentle voice came from the other end of the phone.
He didn’t hear her say anything, so he looked at the phone and called out again.
"Serena?"
"Wuwu..." Hearing the man’s voice again, Serena burst into tears, "Un...Uncle...wuwu..."
"Serena, don’t cry. What’s wrong? Did someone bully you, or are you feeling uncomfortable?"
Elias was extremely anxious, speaking as he walked out.
Leaving behind a roomful of people in the meeting room, utterly stunned.
They couldn’t believe what they heard. Was this still the cold-faced Living Yama?
Was this still their aloof and intimidating Master Lancaster?
The tone he just used was that gentle and urgent. Surely, they must have heard it wrong.
Elias went straight to the school, found the principal, and the principal personally led him to the dormitory.
Not far away, they saw a crowd gathered at the dormitory entrance, making a ruckus.
Elias had a bad feeling in his heart and strode forward.
At this time, Serena was surrounded by her three roommates and the tutor, her eyes red and swollen.
She was helplessly covering her ears, squatting on the ground, repeatedly saying, "I didn’t... I didn’t..."
But no one believed her, everyone pointing fingers at her.
Then Katherine Sinclair reached out and pulled her up. Her foot slipped, and she almost fell, but fortunately, she caught herself on the bed frame.
Katherine tauntingly tugged at her clothes, "If you didn’t, where did you get the money to buy such nice clothes and use such a nice phone? What else could it be but selling yourself?"
The tutor knew for a fact that Serena Yeats worked her way through school, eating plain bread, relying on scholarships to pay tuition."
She said loudly.
The other two roommates also stepped forward.
"Exactly, how can people like this stay in school? Sharing a dorm with her is seriously unlucky."
As they spoke, the three of them pushed, shoving Serena.
The tutor stepped forward, pretending to stop them, but didn’t manage to in time as someone pushed Serena hard.
"Stop!"
As Elias walked over, he saw Serena being pushed back, crashing into a nearby table.
Everyone turned to Elias, stunned, watching him walk toward Serena.
Serena hit the table, feeling a slight pain in her stomach, and instinctively held her stomach.
"Serena, what happened?" Elias quickly asked.
"Uncle, go to the hospital. We need to go to the hospital quickly." Seeing Elias, Serena felt like she’d finally found a lifeline.
"Alright." Elias hurriedly picked her up in his arms and started to walk out.
"So you’re the sugar daddy? This is a school, who do you think you are to come and go as you please?" The tutor blocked Elias’s way.
"Get out of my way," Elias said coldly, with a dark expression.
The tutor was momentarily stunned by the aura around him and instinctively stepped aside.
The principal had just come over, "Master Lancaster..."
"You better give me an explanation," Elias interrupted the principal, saying a cold sentence.
Then hurriedly rushed to the hospital.
Everyone at the dormitory entrance sensed that something had gone wrong.
Katherine looked at the handsome man, feeling upset inside. Wasn’t he supposed to be an old man? How could he be so young and so handsome?
So,
"Sir, haven’t you been deceived? Serena Yeats has been with several old men."
Elias, ignoring everything, carried Serena with large strides out of there.
The principal roughly understood the cause of the matter, looking with despair at the tutor, "Do you know who that is? That’s Master Lancaster!"
The tutor had a bad feeling.
Elias waited at the emergency room door, looking at his hands and the blood on them. It was just like last time, but this time his heart was in turmoil, anxious and filled with regret.
He should have stopped her from going to school today.
Just then,
The doctor came out.
Elias quickly moved forward, "Doctor, how is she?"
The doctor frowned slightly, "It’s nothing..."
Before he finished, he was interrupted by Elias, "Doctor, as long as Serena is safe, the child... I can do without."
The doctor chuckled, "The patient is fine. For now, we’ll focus on stabilizing the pregnancy; have her rest for a week and then reevaluate..."
