Chapter 129 - 106: Monastery Ghost Stories (Part 3)

"Take me to the airport, I'll return to California tonight." Sun Yan put away his phone and said to Roken, who was driving.

Roken looked puzzled: "So urgent? Why not stay the night and rest, I was planning to treat you to dinner tomorrow."

"No need, there's something at home that requires my urgent attention. Be careful while you're in New York City, don't get targeted by the Jon Clan. Even without demonic powers, their influence and resources are not something ordinary exorcists like us can contend with." Sun Yan shook his head, reminding him aloud.

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."

Roken smiled, then turned the car around, heading towards the airport.

...

Bam!

With one kick, she opened a door nailed shut with wood panels, and the room was instantly filled with a musty smell.

Sosia aimed the shotgun inside and immediately saw a Western-style coffin placed in the room.

On top of the coffin lay a cross necklace and a Holy Mother Mary statue.

Dahuang stepped into the room and immediately began barking wildly at the coffin.

Judging by this reaction, it's evident that something unclean resides inside the coffin.

Sosia came here tonight as arranged by Sun Yan, needing only to stay for 24 hours.

But being passive like that could lead to attacks by evil spirits at any moment, which is not her style.

Thus, Sosia opted to take the initiative, to see what secrets this abandoned monastery hides.

With one hand, she pushed aside the coffin lid and peeked inside, seeing a dried-up corpse dressed in a nun's habit.

Heavy iron chains encircled her wrists and ankles, and a silver ingot was stuffed in her mouth.

It seemed like some kind of suppression technique, as if someone intended for this corpse to remain here forever, unable to reanimate.

Dahuang agilely jumped onto the coffin, took a deep breath, and began absorbing the black aura from the corpse.

Just as Dahuang started absorbing the black aura, the corpse that had long ago turned into a dried-up nun suddenly opened her eyes.

Baring her teeth in anger, she attempted to sit up and reach for Dahuang.

But the heavy chains she wore severely restricted her movements, no matter how much the corpse struggled, she couldn't escape from the coffin.

Seeing this, Sosia raised the shotgun and fired at the corpse's head, instantly exploding it.

As Dahuang absorbed the black aura completely, the corpse stopped moving altogether.

"The locals said that the nuns back then died of illness and their bodies were buried somewhere in the monastery. But now it seems the truth isn't that simple. Even the cause of death back then wasn't some illness."

Sosia slightly comprehended this and immediately felt the urge to investigate the truth.

Since she has to stay in this monastery for 24 hours before leaving, instead of idling, she might as well find something to do.

One by one, she blasted her way into sealed rooms, with Dahuang absorbing every coffin placed in each room.

Sosia soon reached the end of the corridor, where stood a four-meter-high door.

Oddly enough, the child's forehead bore a pair of horns.

And horns are the symbol of demons.

Sosia pushed the door open forcefully, and a gust of wind blew from within, spraying out dust and mist, nearly blinding Sosia.

Instinctively, she covered her face, but at that moment, a shadow darted from behind the door.

Accurately covering Sosia entirely, it turned out to be a massive cloth.

Instantly, the sounds of the wind ceased, and as Sosia pulled the cloth off her head, she looked around in surprise.

If it weren't for hearing it herself, she might suspect it was all just her imagination.

In this secluded monastery, how could such a strong wind blow?

Looking down at the cloth in her hand, Sosia's face changed dramatically; it turned out to be countless pieces of stitched-together human skin.

Inscribed with many incomprehensible mysterious symbols, it was also threaded through with intact eyeballs.

In her years as a demon hunter, Sosia had never seen anything so bizarre; it felt like an evil offering for some Evil God.

Quickly throwing the thing to the ground, Sosia raised her Demon Exorcism Shotgun and continued deeper inside.

This was a circular chapel, its floor scattered with broken benches, their surfaces filled with long scratches made by nails.

Even some broken teeth could be seen embedded in these wooden benches.

Sosia's eyes narrowed, and under her gaze, the main altar in the chapel displayed an originally white Holy Mother Mary statue, now weeping blood tears.

And the two-meter-long cross of Jesus's crucifixion hanging on the wall also broke, Jesus's head hanging upside down, forming an inverted cross.

Holy Mother's blood tears, Jesus hung upside down... these were not good omens.

"Woof woof woof!"

Dahuang's tail stood upright, barking fiercely, a tone that Sosia had never heard from him.
