Chapter 969: The Progenitor's Proposition I

With Alvey's rank decided, McEnda II returned to a question he had forgotten to ask earlier.

"Yo, Arthur. When do you plan on going back to your home Universe? I need you to pass a message to your grandfather for me."

"I'm going back sometime in November. And he's my great-grandfather. I'm the son of his son's daughter."

All the Demon Rulers knew exactly who McEnda II and Arthur were referring to, so there were no confused looks.

However, Evan and some of the Demon Noble family heads were lost.

'Arthur's great-grandfather? Arthur did say he was a Devil King, wasn't he?'

As Evan pondered this, McEnda II and Arthur's conversation continued.

"I'm very curious to meet his son. I'm also very curious about this concealment method of yours. It's rather…excellent."

McEnda II's words caused a stir among the Demon Nobles present, revealing that even the Demon Rulers couldn't see through Arthur's concealment.

Arthur simply snapped his left index and ring fingers, though only Jamie realized it was a misdirection since the concealment ring was actually on his right hand.

As for why Jamie knew this, it was simple. Jamie was just like Arthur—someone who had attained Cosmic Superiority.

Except it wasn't partial like Arthur's. Jamie was a full Cosmic Being.

Arthur, for his part, simply snapped his left index and ring fingers, but only Jamie realised it was a misdirection since the concealment ring was actually on his right hand.

None of the others in the hall had Cosmic Superiority, so they failed to notice the cosmic energy surrounding his body being absorbed by the ring, which then revealed his true realm for everyone to see.

Alvey and McEnda were the most stunned, realizing that Arthur was a Superior Sovereign.

The Demon Rulers were equally shocked, as their recent reports had classified him as a Superior Legendary just a month prior.

"How the-? Weren't you a Legendary not too long ago?"

"Yeah. I just became a Sovereign a little bit over two weeks ago."

"…"

A stunned silence fell over the entire Hall of Stars as everyone processed the absurdity of what they'd just heard. Even Jamie was dumbfounded for a moment before he burst into laughter.

"Bahahahahaha!!! I guess the craziness runs in the blood, huh? 100 Levels in 2 weeks?

Even I took till I was 20 to hit Transcendence, but from the looks of it, you'd get there before you turn 18!

Maybe you might even beat my record and Exuviate before 25!"

"NO, NO, NO, NO…Arthur's case doesn't make yours any less ridiculous!!!

Transcendence at 20?! Exuviating at 25?! Are you even hearing yourself?! People take centuries to reach that level, you know?"

McEnda II had to remind Jamie that he, too, was an anomaly.

Hearing that Jamie reached the Deity Realm at 25 made the Demon Rulers' jaws drop to the floor. Even Arthur and Evan were surprised.

'And I thought Rathal was crazy for reaching Transcendence at 30…'

This was an example of Singularities getting stronger at speeds worthy of resentment.

Malorum, having grown desensitized to Jamie's antics, turned to Arthur with a question.

"How did you move up an entire realm in such a short time?"

Before Arthur could respond, the Demon Queen of Gravitas interrupted.

"An entire realm? The boy's Semi-Transcendent already! It wouldn't take long for him to start having 'Undefined' Stats."

When someone surpasses the limits of their Existence Realm without ascending, their Stats and Levels become 'Undefined' since the system can't measure such power. If Arthur reached Level 899 and grew stronger, that level and his Stats would become 'Undefined.'

Regarding Arthur's situation, the Demon Queen of Gravitas pointed out something Arthur wasn't aware of.

"I'm not even gonna question how you were able to comprehend laws before Transcendence. What I wanna know is how you mutated your Pseudo-origin core!"

But to her question, Arthur gave her a confused look.

"Mutated what?"

"Why're you acting confused? I'm talking about the mutated Gravity Pseudo-Origin core you have."

"…I have a Gravity Pseudo-Origin core?"

Arthur was genuinely bewildered. Since he hadn't reached 50% comprehension in Gravity laws, he didn't think the core had formed yet. However, the Demon Queen, with her high authority over the law, confirmed it.

The mutation likely explained why it was dormant.

Arthur was still puzzled, having never heard of mutated cores before.

The Demon Queen, realizing he didn't know, acknowledged his confusion. Meanwhile, the rest of the Hall wondered if Singularities could bend the laws enough to comprehend Universal Laws before Transcendence.

Thankfully, Jamie interrupted to clear up their doubts and make them not have weird notions about Singularities.

"No, Singularities can NOT. The boy is a Progenitor. They're exceptions to the rule."

It was then that Arthur muttered to himself.

"I've never had a Pseudo-Origin core form but not awaken immediately so I'm a bit lost here…"

His comment raised eyebrows among the Demon Rulers, and even Alvey and McEnda III gave him incredulous looks.

Arthur realized he had again said something unusual.

While the quick awakening of his Pseudo-Origin cores for Time and Destruction was rare, most individuals experienced a period of adjustment before their cores fully awakened.

"Hold on, you guys can talk about all this after the Summit is over. We've taken too much time with this group.

Don't forget we're still just on the letter 'A'."

Malorum reminded all the Demon Rulers that they had over two dozen groups of Battlefront World Representatives waiting and his reminder made some of them frown.

"Fuck…my butt's gonna hurt when we're done with today."

"I know a good massage parlour. Got vouchers too."

When Jamie made this offer, the Demon Queen who complained about a sore behind jumped on it in a second.

"Ooh, gimme!"

While Jamie dealt with the voucher requests, Malorum dismissed the Aramis group, who were escorted out of the Hall.

As they left, Evan couldn't help but think that the Demon Rulers were far less serious than he had expected, with only a few fitting the cold, detached image he had in mind.

Most of them felt more like an unhinged group of old friends.

◇ ◇ ◇

As they exited the Hall of Stars, they passed the next group entering for their report, and Evan noticed one of them trembling with nerves.

'Good luck bro.'

He couldn't help but empathize with the guy as he walked past, heading back to the waiting room and letting out a sigh of relief.

Just as he sat down and began processing all he had just realised from this meeting with the Demon Rulers, Arthur tapped him on the shoulder and asked.

"Wanna go play 'Demon Dodgeball Blitz'?"

"…"

Evan gave Arthur a deadpan look at the latter's nonchalant suggestion. But after a moment, he sighed and responded.

"You know what? Let's go. There's so much to think about that I don't even know where to start. I need a break."

He decided not to stress himself from overthinking. Before Alvey, who had overheard their conversation, could say anything, Arthur had already created a Cosmic Gate.

"The Summit isn't over, you know?"

"Yeah, but from here on, whatever happens, doesn't concern us.

I'm just waiting for them to agree to my proposition, and they said they'd discuss that another day. As for the rewards and all that after today's reports…"

Arthur paused, placing a hand on his chin as he thought for a few seconds, glancing at Evan briefly before continuing.

"Evan was supposed to get a rank, but that can be done without him being present or any ceremony, right?

So, there's no real need for him to be here anymore. The only reason we'd need to come back is to speak with Demon King Westley, but he could easily find us when he wants to talk."

After Arthur spoke, he and Evan stepped through the Cosmic Gate, reappearing at the Arcade they'd been frequenting over the past 3 days. They changed out of their formal uniforms into casual clothes to blend in.

Arthur wore a simple black t-shirt with dark jeans and sneakers, his hair slightly tousled for a relaxed look. Evan went for a grey hoodie over a white t-shirt and blue jeans, eventually tying the hoodie around his waist during a heated supersonic dodgeball match.

Meanwhile, the Summit continued as planned, with hundreds of Demons presenting their reports.

Afterwards, the Demon Rulers and Noble Family Heads discussed the rewards to be given. By sunset, they called in representatives from worlds starting with letters A to E for the reward ceremony.

This ceremony was to recognize standout achievers, with the second phase of the Summit featuring grand parties and influential guests from other Prime Worlds and Interstellar Empires, both within and beyond the Orithyia Galaxy.

Honouring these standout individuals in the presence of such influential powerhouses was a strategic move to elevate these individuals' status and expand their influence across the Interstellar Stage.

During the rewards phase, the Demon Kings, having already made a decision on Arthur's proposition, called for his presence.

However, Arthur wasn't at the arcade he and Evan had gone to earlier.

Finding him, however, wasn't an issue as all Jamie needed to do was lock onto the only Sub-Cosmic presence within Imperium Astra.

The man's spatial perception could expand to cover light years, so finding someone within a single Region that was only a few hundred million square kilometres in area wasn't hard.

When a Cosmic Gate appeared in front of Arthur, he quickly understood his summons and swapped into his uniform with a spell before stepping through.

Evan, also called in, followed suit, and they both emerged back in the Hall of Stars.

"Yo! That's a lot of demons."

Such was Arthur's remark as he entered and his nonchalant attitude in front of the Demon Rulers surprised many in the other groups. Even stranger was that most of the Demon Rulers and Nobles seemed completely unfazed by it, treating the moment as entirely normal.
