Chapter 845: Arthur Vaughn

"What the ACTUAL fuck?"

There was no god, devil or Buddha in heaven, earth or the seven dimensions who could blame Evan for reacting like this.

After all, it's not every day you're told you've been hurled 10 millennia into the past.

And to make matters worse, he had ZERO clue how to get back to the future willingly!

'10,000 years?!

TEN FUCKING THOUSAND YEARS?! TEN MILLENNIA?! TEN SETS OF 1,000 YEARS?!'

Evan's brain broke down the time span he'd been told numerous times over but no matter how he repeated it in his head, he couldn't still wrap his head around it.

How old was he? Physically, he was 16. Mentally, he was 20… though, admittedly, he acted his physical age more often than not.

Anyway, Evan could not fathom how long of a time this was. This was 500 times the life he'd lived so far, after all. Five hundred!!

'That doesn't make it sound any smaller!'

Whoever the god behind Gozon was in the future, they were powerful enough to distort space-time and send someone back 10,000 years... using a Proxy, no less.

'What if they had cast the spell directly instead of using Conroe as a Proxy?'

Evan was scared to think about the result. In that case, Roselia and Kayla would not have been able to disrupt it and they would have sent Evan to wherever they wanted to.

Considering they were an enemy, he highly doubted it would have been some kind of utopia.

After nearly a minute of silence, Arthur spoke up.

"Good news, Evan. You would NOT get trapped here.

From what I see, there's some sort of time law coating on you—probably an effect of the spell that sent you here—and it's preventing the Universal law of time from knowing that you are from the Future.

However, this coating is not permanent and it'd wear over time. When it's gone, the Law of Time's gonna go: "Hey, you're not supposed to be here! Get the fuck out!"; and beam you back into the future."

Arthur had used his Pseudo-Authority on Evan while the Hero was lost in his thoughts and had spoken based on the assumption that Evan was scared of the possibility of not being able to return to the future.

However—

"…I already knew that."

—this wasn't news to Evan. Future Artemisia had already told him that.

"Wait, you did?"

They were all surprised that Evan knew the conditions for him to return, and this then begged the question of what had caused the fearful look they had seen in Evan's eyes just now.

"I was just thinking…I got sent 10,000 years into the past to a faraway planet, and this was when the spell-casting was interrupted.

If the spell had been completed…I'm scared to think of where I could have been sent to.

What's more, I'm just hit with a newfound realisation that I truly didn't comprehend the level of power my enemies possessed. To think they could so easily send me back in time by 10,000 years with a spell cast through a proxy…"

Hearing Evan's words, everyone had to agree that they'd be very worried about that if they were ever to end up in his current situation.

"Oh…those are very real concerns.

But seeing as you're already aware that your stay in the past isn't permanent, then I guess I can spill the 'Bad News'."

Evan looked at Arthur with confusion when he heard this and the silver-haired boy just smiled wryly and continued.

"Just so you know, the law of time…it may not send you back to the exact point in time you travelled from. I feel it may send you to whatever point it is as at the moment that coat wears off completely.

Unfortunately, I don't know when that Coat is going to wear off so I can't say. It's gonna last at least a month, that's for sure.

Could take years…probably no more than a decade at most."

"…"

Everyone in the room silently facepalmed as Arthur casually changed the target of Evan's fear to the fact that he could spend years stuck in this time.

"Years…?

I have so many things to deal with in my time period. I have a planetary war to stop…"

Evan couldn't afford to stay in the past for years. Who knew what kind of atrocities the Demonic Hand might commit in his absence?

He had contingency plans in place in case he went missing for an extended period, but that "extended" meant a year at most.

What would happen when the First Finger realized he was gone? Chaos, that's what.

As Evan muttered to himself about a 'Planetary War' and the potential disaster of a 'Dimensional Rift breaking', Sigesi's curiosity was piqued.

"You have a Planetary War to stop, you say?"

Her gaze flickered briefly to Alvey before settling back on Evan.

"Mind sharing some details? At least, the ones you can."

"We have a bunch of Go-guys trying to Invade and I happen to be a Hero whose job is to make sure they don't."

Evan had almost said 'Gozonians' out of habit, but he remembered that three of the six people before him were from Gozon so he held his tongue and switched his words.

Nevertheless, Alvey noticed this little slip-up and narrowed his eyes. Arthur, who also noticed it pointed it out.

"You wanted to say something else. gods?"

Evan arched a brow at Arthur's question, before casually lying to throw them off.

"I wanted to say goddamn bastards, but yeah, they do have a god behind them. The person who yeeted me into the past.

Unfortunately, the people of the world I come from don't know what race or world our Invaders came from.

All we know is they Invaded 1000 years ago…well, 9000 years in the future.

They invaded and got repelled. The Dimensional Rift they used to come into the World was sealed, but the seal's not permanent and they're gonna come back.

I got a bunch of fools on our side who worship these invaders and they are trying to break the seal open and let the Invaders back in, so I gotta stop them."

Evan did not hide the situation of Aidos from them, he just never stated the planet's name nor the name of the invaders even though he knew.

'This isn't something I need to keep under wraps, so why not let them see that I'm willing to share?

Let them see that I'm open to revealing things. Maybe that'll earn me some trust, and I can pick up valuable information from them in return.'

Right now, Evan desperately needed intel about the current time period, and the six people in front of him were his best bet. Revealing that he was a Hero wasn't much of a "reveal" at all—they'd already seen his status board, after all.

'At least there's no mention of Aidos on my status board.'

Thanks to that omission, they wouldn't be able to figure out where he came from.

But there was more. When Evan had checked the system for the date earlier, he noticed a small gift from future Artemisia.

|Unique Skills- Mystic Eyes of ȳ̸̘r̷̤͑c̴͍̅i̸͖͂ḿ̵̼į̴͐m̷̨̕ ̴́͜, Adaptive Evolution, Blessing of Destruction, Vortex, Harbinger of Ice, Mesarthim: Prismatic Inferno, ■■■■■. |

Knowing that Evan would undoubtedly encounter her past self, future Artemisia had taken measures to obscure the name of his Mystic Eyes.

If her younger self saw the skill name 'Mimicry,' she'd immediately become suspicious since she knew the names and skills of Aidos' Five Heroes.

On a side note, Aidos in the 50th General Calendar only had Five Heroes, not Seven. The remaining two Hero slots were still locked, as the planet hadn't yet faced a crisis that warranted them.

Back to the current situation, the six in front of Evan glanced at his status and were shocked at the sheer number of skills that he had.

The boy had over 50 skills!!

'This is by far the highest number of skills I've seen on one person since I came to this Universe.'

As Arthur thought this, he turned his gaze towards Alvey and appraised the man, counting around 15 skills. Impressive, but nowhere near what Evan had—Evan's skill count was triple that, and that wasn't even including his Unique Skills.

This was one of the reasons Alvey and McEnda, despite their packed schedules, wanted to sit in on Evan's questioning. They were curious about where this boy came from and how he had amassed such a staggering array of skills.

From his titles, they could tell he was a Hero in his world, and not just any Hero, but the Leader of them. They also noted that he held both Noble and Military ranks, all by the age of 16.

"The boy is like a slightly less ridiculous version of Arthur."

"I know, right? He does one up Arthur with his number of skills, but we still don't know how many more abilities Arthur has that'd be categorized as Skills either."

Alvey and McEnda had a not-so-subtle conversation that caught Evan's attention.

For the longest time, Evan had been told by many people that he was a nonstandard, and had ridiculous strength for his age.

Evan was well aware that his strength didn't conform to the norm, but hearing those two suggest that, despite all his irregularities, someone even more ridiculous existed sparked his curiosity.

Intrigued, he turned his attention to Arthur and decided to appraise the silver-haired boy. When the results appeared, Evan's jaw dropped in shock.

'He's the Progenitor godslayer she told me about?!'

Arthur's race and title were the first things that caught Evan's attention.

During the Wolfen War, Artemisia had spoken to Evan about 'Slayer Races' and she'd told him that she was friends with the Progenitor of the godslayer race, even though said race was born to kill gods like her.

[Refer to Chapter 701]

Evan never imagined he'd come face-to-face with that very Progenitor as a teenager. As his gaze moved down Arthur's other titles and stats, his expression grew increasingly bewildered with each line.

'Dude, why the fuck do you have an infinity symbol on your health stat?! Are you immortal? Wait—there's a '½' in front of it. What does that even mean? Half of infinity is still infinity!!'

After that, Evan then realised that Arthur had 'X2' stats… the kind that Sovereign Level existences were meant to have.

'He has energy comparable to a Level 860?! And he's just Level 768?!'

It suddenly made sense why Alvey and McEnda had called him a 'less ridiculous' version of Arthur.

Then there were Arthur's skills. While Arthur didn't have as many as Evan, every one of his skills had dangerous-sounding names.

'Extinction Slash? That sounds scary as fuck!'

Evan read the skill's description and found himself at a loss for how to even react to what he saw.

|Extinction Slash;

Type: Ultra-Rare Personal Skill.

This Skill cannot be lost or taken away.

⚠HOST IS NOT ADVISED TO ATTEMPT MIMICKING THIS SKILL! ⚠

Description;

Extinction Slash is a skill that embodies the pure power of the law of extinction. When activated, it releases a thin, silver line of energy that moves at relativistic speed, making it nearly imperceptible to the naked eye. The slash is so swift and precise that it seems to cut through space itself, leaving behind a faint, shimmering afterglow.

It bypasses a portion of the target's natural durability, striking at the very essence of their being. The atoms and molecules that compose the struck portion are obliterated, becoming 'extinct' in an instant. This results in a clean, almost surgical cut that leaves no trace of the severed matter behind. |

'What is this? Even the system is warning me not to mimic this skill…'

Evan had never seen such a warning from the system before, but after scrolling through Arthur's status, he could start to understand why.

'Cataclysmic Divide? Arcane Blessing?

And what in Aidos is an "Accelerated Gravitational Singularity of Destruction"?! Who are you trying to kill with that—a god?!'

A moment later, he remembered: Arthur was, in fact, a godslayer. So, of course, he used that skill to kill gods.
