Chapter 126: Don’t ruin my relationship with my husband.

Augustine’s car cruised toward Gyapm Corporation, but Reginald barely noticed the passing scenery. His mind was in turmoil, scrambling for a way to take back his words.

He hadn’t expected Augustine’s question—hadn’t even been given a second to think before his mouth had betrayed him.

Now, as the silence stretched between them, he tried to correct himself. "What I meant was—"

Augustine cut him off with a glance, his expression unreadable. "You already answered."

The black Ford car of Augustine rolled to a stop in the company garage, and Augustine stepped out without a word.

Reginald followed closely, his mind racing.

"CEO Augustine," he called, his voice laced with urgency. "I need you to know—I didn’t properly hear your question before I answered."

Augustine halted mid-step, casting a side glance at Reginald. "You don’t have to apologize for liking someone," Augustine said, resting a firm hand on Reginald’s shoulder.

His tone was calm but final. "Freda seems like a nice woman—so treat her well."

With a light pat on Reginald’s shoulder, Augustine turned and strode ahead, leaving no room for further discussion.

Reginald exhaled sharply, nodding to himself as he squared his shoulders.

Silently, he followed after Augustine, his expression now unreadable.

Since they are now present in the company building, being serious was expected from Reginald.

"What’s my schedule for today, Reginald?" Augustine asked as they walked through the company lobby.

Reginald quickly scrolled through his phone. "CEO Augustine, at ten o’clock, you’re scheduled to recheck all the clothing designs for the project launch. You’ll need to ensure the accessories complement each piece perfectly."

Reginald tone was crisp and professional.

He had analysed the entire schedule of Augustine inside his phone. "By noon, you’re scheduled to visit the venue for the launch. You’ll need to check the stage lighting, seating arrangement, and overall setup to ensure everything meets your expectations."

As Reginald’s finger scrolled through his phone, he continued reading Augustine’s schedule. "After that, your next priority is to secure models. I’ve arranged a meeting for you at the Grand Model House in Country H. They’re expecting you for a discussion."

Augustine lifted a hand midair, prompting Reginald to immediately glance up at him. "Do you want me to make any adjustments?" he asked, his tone laced with curiosity.

Augustine gave a subtle shake of his head before pressing the button to his private lift. "Instead, draft a complete list of all the guests attending tomorrow’s event. Also, hire additional security personnel. With elite members in attendance, their safety must be our top priority." Augustine stated with a firm tone, leaving no room for argument.

Reginald gave a curt nod before turning toward the public lift. He knew better than to step into Augustine’s personal space—his boss despised sharing his elevator with anyone.

Meanwhile, as the lift ascended, Augustine pulled his phone from his pocket, intending to send Charles a message.

However, his brows lifted in surprise when he saw an unread text from Charles instead.

Opening it, his lips twitched at the words on the screen.

Charles had called him a drama king—a title Augustine would never admit to—and ended the message with a sarcastic wish that hopes Augustine find models for his designs.

A quiet chuckle escaped Augustine as he leaned against the lift wall, his fingers already moving across the keyboard to craft a fitting reply.

Exhaling!

Augustine let out a deep exhale before slipping his phone back into his pocket.

The elevator chimed, and as the doors slid open, he stepped out with his usual composed demeanor.

Striding into his office, he sank into his chair, the smooth leather cool against his back.

Without missing a beat, he powered on his laptop, his fingers swiftly navigating through the files that awaited his review.

The day had only just begun, but his workload was already piling up.

Augustine remained focused on the documents in front of him when a gentle knock echoed from the door.

Seconds later, Reginald stepped inside.

"CEO Augustine, Aubrey is here to see you," he announced. "She’s waiting outside and insists on speaking with you before she leaves."

Augustine exhaled sharply, his patience already wearing thin.

He barely lifted his gaze from his laptop as he spoke. "Tell Aubrey I don’t have time for her nonsense today," he said icily, his fingers still typing.

Reginald turned toward the door, ready to relay the message, but before he could take a step, the door swung open.

Aubrey stormed in, shoving Reginald aside as if he were nothing more than an obstacle in her path.

"Move," she snapped, her heels clicking against the floor as she marched straight to Augustine’s desk, fire blazing in her eyes.

Aubrey crossed her arms over her stomach, her lips pressing into a thin line as she stood in front of Augustine office table. "So, just because of the little misunderstanding I had with your lover, you’re ignoring my calls now? Not even a single callback?" she scoffed.

Augustine let out a slow, frustrated sigh, finally leaning back in his chair. "Aubrey, I hope you aren’t blind," he said, his tone sharp. "I’m damn busy. So if you have something to say, say it and get the hell out of my office."

Aubrey scoffed. "Tomorrow is your design launch, and I want you to take me as your date."

Augustine let out a slow breath, dragging a hand down his face in frustration. His brows furrowed as he met her gaze. "Is that seriously what you came here to tell me?"

"Yes."

Augustine rose from his seat, his cold gaze locking onto Aubrey like a blade.

The intensity in his eyes sent a shiver down her spine, goosebumps prickling her skin.

"I am a married man, Aubrey," he stated, his voice firm and unwavering. "So stop trying to ruin the relationship I have with my husband."

"Tomorrow, I... I want you to announce to the public that you are now dating me," Aubrey stammered, her voice trembling as if she feared Augustine would explode in fury.

But Augustine remained silent, his expression unreadable.

Instead of acknowledging Aubrey demand, Augustine’s mind drifted elsewhere—calculating the best offer to present to the new model who had agreed to meet with him.

He has a lot in his mind that Aubrey’s words made no meaning to his ear.

Nevertheless, seeing that Augustine remained silent, Aubrey pulled out her phone from her handbag.

Raising two fingers in a peace sign, she leaned in closer to Augustine, angling the camera for a selfie.

The sudden flash and shutter sound jolted Augustine out of his thoughts.

His gaze snapped to the phone, his expression twisting in disgust. "What the hell do you think you’re doing?" he spat coldly.

He had been too lost in his thoughts to notice Aubrey’s actions, but the moment he saw the phone camera aimed at him, his blood boiled with rage.

"Get out!" Augustine roared, his voice thundering through the office.

Aubrey flinched, nearly dropping her phone as she scrambled backward, her face pale with shock.

But deep down... she was excited for the turn of events that would take place... soon.
