Chapter 110: Kiss me until I become breathless.

Chapter 110: Kiss me until I become breathless.

"Charles, are you okay?" Reginald asked, glancing at the rear view mirror because Charles became utterly quiet after Reginald statement.

He noticed Charles frozen stiff, lips slightly parted in shock which made him to start questioning his previous statement.

Charles blinked rapidly, forcing himself to breathe as he swallowed the lump in his throat. "I... yeah, I’m fine," he muttered, voice uneven, as if the words were struggling to find their way out.

Reginald’s brows furrowed slightly, concern flickering in his gaze as he glanced at Charles. "You sure? You look like someone just heard you the world’s biggest secret."

Charles swallowed hard, forcing a shaky smile. "I... I don’t know what to say, honestly." He inhaled deeply, trying to calm the strange flutter in his chest. "Maybe I just didn’t expect to hear it out loud."

Reginald chuckled softly, eyes back on the road. "Sometimes it takes someone else to point out what’s been in front of you all along."

"Umm... okay," Charles mumbled.

Reginald let out a low chuckle as his eyes remained fixed on the road ahead. "Hey, don’t let what I said about CEO Augustine get to you," he said lightly. "You two are still figuring things out, right? No need to rush. Just... take your time with him."

Charles parted his lips, intending to respond with a simple okay, but the word tangled on his tongue.

His throat tightened, leaving him silent as the car hummed quietly beneath them.

No matter how hard he tried, the reply wouldn’t come.

So instead, he replied with a brief nod.

Charles remained silent the entire ride, his thoughts a whirlwind as Reginald navigated through the busy town streets.

When they finally arrived at the restaurant, Reginald eased the car to a smooth stop at the driveway.

Without wasting a second, Charles stepped out, his footsteps purposeful as he rounded the car and approached the driver’s side.

With a soft smile, Charles dipped his head politely toward Reginald. "Thank you for today. I really appreciated the ride... and the conversation too," he murmured, his voice quiet but sincere as his eyes met Reginald’s.

"Take care, and have a great day ahead," Charles added, tightening his grip on the strap of his backpack.

Without lingering, he turned on his heel and walked toward the restaurant entrance.

Reginald’s gaze lingered on Charles until he disappeared through the restaurant doors.

As soon as Charles was out of sight, Reginald leaned back against his seat, releasing a long, drawn-out sigh that echoed in the silence of the car.

Shaking his head lightly, he started the engine again as he drove out of the driveway and merged back onto the road.

Just like every other day, Charles resumed his waiter work and when his shift was over, he made his way towards Gyapm Corporation hall where he and his fellow colleagues cleaned the hall for the very last time.

When they were all done with their duties, they departed the premises and just like usual, Freda boarded a cab, claiming that she had a date to attend to.

Charles on the other hand, hail a cab and after arriving at the destination of Augustine, Charles paid the cab driver before proceeding in making his way inside the mansion and there, he saw Augustine lying down on the couch with his laptop above his stomach.

"Hey," Charles purred as he closed the distance between the both of them.

Augustine shifted his gaze from the laptop screen, a soft, inviting smile curving his lips. "Hello, Pookie," he murmured, his voice a low purr laced with warmth.

Without hesitation, he set the laptop down on the center table, freeing his hands.

His right hand reached out toward Charles, palm open, silently beckoning him to come closer and take it.

Charles slipped his fingers into Augustine’s outstretched hand, allowing himself to be effortlessly pulled down until he was lying above Augustine’s body.

Without a word, Charles let go of Augustine’s hand, shrugging off his backpack and carefully setting it down beside the couch.

Then, he lowered himself fully, resting against Augustine’s chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath him.

He also wrapped his hands around Augustine’s waist before letting out a deep breath.

Charles was truly exhausted.

"How was work today?" Augustine murmured, his hand trailing soothing circles along Charles’s back.

Charles sighed, melting slightly into his touch. "Stressful, as usual. But at least I only have to work a half shift tomorrow morning. I’ll finally get some rest after that."

Augustine nodded in understanding, his fingers never stopping their gentle caress. "Have you eaten yet?" he asked, voice soft. "I ordered pizza, burgers, and fries. They’re waiting for you on the kitchen island."

Charles’s lips curved into a thin smile. "Thanks," he mumbled as his words were barely above a whisper.

The next few seconds stretched into a heavy, comfortable silence as they lay still, their breaths mingling in the quiet.

Neither of them spoke, content to let the moment linger.

After nearly a full minute of wordless calm, Augustine finally broke the silence with a soft, drawn-out sigh. His fingers lazily traced the curve of Charles’s spine.

"Are you planning to fall asleep on top of me?" he murmured, his tone teasing but laced with warmth.

Without Charles lifting his head, he gave a small, deliberate nod, his cheek still pressed against Augustine’s chest.

Chuckled!

Augustine let out a low chuckle, his fingers gently gripping Charles’s shoulders as he gazed down at him. "Pookie, believe me when I say nothing would make me happier than having you fall asleep right here," he murmured, his voice velvet-soft. "But I’ve got something urgent waiting for me on the laptop. So, how about I carry you to the room and help you take your bath first?"

Charles lifted his head, narrowing his eyes slightly.

Meeting Augustine’s gaze, he scoffed, unable to resist rolling his eyes at the suggestion.

"I can bathe myself, so just focus on your company stuff," Charles snapped, rising up from Augustine’s chest as he grabbed his backpack in one swift motion and headed straight for the bedroom without glancing back.

Once inside, he quickly stripped naked and stepped into the shower, letting the warm water wash away the tension.

Minutes later, Charles emerged, towel drying his hair lazily as he reached for one of Augustine’s white long shirts hanging in the wardrobe and slipped it on.

The fabric hung loosely on Charles, the hem barely brushing the tops of his thighs, leaving his legs completely bare.

As Charles caught sight of himself in the mirror, he couldn’t help but smirk faintly, knowing exactly what kind of reaction this would draw if Augustine saw him now.

Charles made his way back to the sitting room and as his gaze fell on Augustine, he noticed that Augustine was now busy with his laptop.

’Such a busy freak,’ Charles spat within himself while making his way towards the dining area where he ate the things that Augustine had purchased for him.

After Charles had eaten to his filled, he wrapped his hands around his stomach as he fixed his gaze on Augustine for more than fifteen minutes.

Sigh!

"Augustine, can’t you continue your work tomorrow? I want to be beside you," Charles purred softly, his voice laced with a subtle, almost childlike neediness.

Augustine’s fingers paused over the keyboard, the sound of his typing halting as he slowly exhaled.

Running his hand through his hair in frustration—not at Charles, but at the timing—he closed the laptop more forcefully than necessary.

Without saying a word, Augustine rose from the couch, his steps deliberate as he made his way toward the dining area where Charles was seated.

Augustine eyes scanned Charles’s face, his gaze softening as he took in the barely concealed vulnerability in Charles expression.

"Is everything alright?" Augustine asked gently, his voice low, yet laced with curiosity and concern.

Charles nods his head. "I... I just feel strange." He purred, rising from the dining chair as he stood beside Augustine.

"Strange? How?"

Charles swallowed hard, his throat tightening as he drew in a shaky breath.

His eyes flickered up to meet Augustine’s, a soft flush creeping across his cheeks.

"It’s strange..." Charles murmured, voice low and almost breathless, "...even though I’m drained from work, I still feel this... pull to be near you." Charles mumbled and his voice was barely above a whisper but due to the proximity between him and Augustine, Augustine was able to grab the words of Charles.

"If you ever need me then I am all yours," Augustine whispered, placing his hands on Charles’s waist and in a swift motion he effortlessly lifted Charles off the floor.

Just as if Charles had predicted Augustine’s move, he wrapped his legs around the waist of Augustine while his hands were gently wrapped around Augustine’s neck.

"Pookie, don’t be scared if you have a sexual urge okay,"

Charles nodded faintly, his throat tightening as he swallowed hard. "Umm... Augustine, for the first time... can you..."

His voice faltered, nerves bubbling beneath his skin, eyes darting away before he forced himself to look back up at Augustine.

The warmth and quiet reassurance in Augustine’s gaze gave him the courage to continue, though his words trembled.

"...Can you kiss me until I forget how to breathe?" Charles mumbled, barely above a whisper, his teeth sinking into his lower lip as if to hold back the pounding in his chest.
