Chapter 18 The Double Tomb Chamber

At the entrance, two stone lions stood guard, and the grand gate was brightly open.

One of the stone lions was half-shattered.

"This should be the main burial chamber, but it seems someone has beaten us to it."

Hu Bayi's brow furrowed slightly as he looked at the tomb door.

Fatty arrived at the gate, his face contorted with anger.

"That scoundrel, daring to steal from your Fatty! Damn it, Old Hu, let's go in and beat them up."

"Let them see what a new era youth under the red flag is like!"

Fatty said indignantly, shaking his fists as big as sandbags.

He looked as if someone had robbed him of his money.

Zhang Tian, however, did not rush. Instead, he ran his finger along the ground.

"It's gunpowder. Someone forced the tomb door open. It must have been some experienced demolition experts. Look, the tomb door hasn't even collapsed."

Zhang Tian said, taking a small step forward.

"Let's go in and take a look. Since someone got here before us, let's go in and see."

With that, the group nodded in agreement.

Hu Bayi held his compass.

"According to the Dragon Seeking Technique, I estimate the main burial chamber should be to the east."

"In ancient times, people liked to orient the tomb to the east, and the phrase 'purple qi comes from the east' was very common."

Hu Bayi explained as they passed through the tunnel.

"Old Hu, your Bagua compass is quite magical. Let Fatty have a look."

Fatty looked at Hu Bayi's compass with a simple smile.

"Fatty, this is a luopan, not a Bagua compass. And you wouldn't understand it even if I showed it to you."

"Let's hurry up."

Hu Bayi said, and Fatty pouted in dissatisfaction.

But he didn't complain much.

Passing through the tomb passage.

Now, Zhang Tian and the others discovered several more corpses, and in front of them stood a tomb wall.

The gray tomb wall looked strikingly vibrant.

Most of the corpses were foreigners, which confirmed the reason for the tomb door being blown open.

"My God, Old Hu, do you see? This is the consequence of messing with other people's property!"

"Who told you to mess around with explosives? Now look, you're all lying here."

Fatty said from the side.

Hu Bayi had seen plenty of dead people before.

He didn't care about this.

Zhang Tian didn't say much either. After all, since he was reborn, he had seen far more than this.

Five corpses lay on the ground, some of them still carrying firearms.

One of them even had demolition explosives.

"They were probably poisoned,"

Zhang Tian said, approaching one of them.

He took the rifle from the man's hand; it was an assault rifle.

Foreign tomb raiding groups were usually well-equipped.

"Heh heh, now Fatty is familiar with these things!"

Fatty also picked up some of the equipment from the others.

He happily fiddled with the modern assault rifle in his hands.

Hu Bayi also picked up a rifle. After all, they didn't know what else might be in the tomb, so they had to be careful.

After searching the bodies, Zhang Tian and the others each had a firearm, three grenades, and a small demolition explosive.

"These little foreigners really have a lot of stuff."

Fatty said contentedly, weighing the gun on his waist.

"This tomb door has a problem."

Hu Bayi had already reached the tomb door.

So many people had died here, yet the door remained unopened. It was obvious that the door had a problem.

There must be a mechanism.

Zhang Tian frowned slightly. He knew well that this was probably not the place where Wu Xie and the others had dug their tomb-robbing tunnel.

This wall must be controlled by some mechanism.

"You guys stay back, I'll try it."

Zhang Tian was immune to all poisons. Since it was a poison trap, Zhang Tian was not afraid.

At worst, he would have to figure it out slowly.

"Boss, what are you going to do?"

Fatty was a little worried.

After all, so many people had died here, and it would be difficult for Zhang Tian to get through.

Zhang Tian waved his hand, signaling the two to stand further away.

Then, he gently touched the bricks.

He didn't miss any gaps.

Zhang Tian decided to try the method from the original novel.

That was to pull out the bricks.

As he gently pulled one out, a large amount of white powder emerged from the brick.

It was very little, probably because Zhang Tian's movements were light, so there was much less white smoke.

"It's some kind of methane gas, in powdered form."

"Fortunately, I pulled it outwards. If I had pushed it inwards, the compression would have definitely caused the powder to fly out from the gaps."

Seeing this, Zhang Tian covered the removed brick with a piece of cloth.

It was fortunate that Zhang Tian was immune, otherwise, he might have ended up like the corpses on the ground.

"Did something float out just now?"

Fatty looked at the tomb wall, his expression tense.

"Don't talk."

Hu Bayi reminded Fatty, and Fatty immediately shut his mouth.

Zhang Tian tore off clothes from the dead bodies and made them into cloth strips. As he pulled out a brick, he stuffed a piece of cloth into the opening to block the gas outlet.

In this way, Zhang Tian quickly created a hole large enough for a person to crawl through.

The white smoke in the wall was blocked by the cloth and stuck to it.

"You guys move further away."

Zhang Tian said again, and Hu Bayi and the other retreated a few more steps.

Zhang Tian took out a match and lit the cloth strip.

The next moment, the flame spread.

Then, a hole appeared.

The bricks were replaced by cloth, and when the cloth burned away, a hole naturally formed.

"Holy cow, Boss, you're my idol!"

"It's like a female cow flying on an airplane, soaring to the sky!"

Fatty was ecstatic. His heart had been pounding just now.

"Let's go, let's get in quickly."

Zhang Tian gave Fatty a look.

Then, the three of them entered the hole.

Zhang Tian thoughtfully placed the bricks back on top of the hole.

"Boss, you broke through the wall, what's the point of putting the bricks back?"

Fatty was somewhat confused.

He pointed his gun at the wall.

"This powder will flow into the gaps from above, so it can be used again if someone comes next time."

Zhang Tian explained, and Fatty suddenly understood.

"Boss, you're so wicked, but Fatty Wang likes it."

Fatty winked at Zhang Tian.

Zhang Tian felt a wave of nausea.

"Alright, let's go."

With that, Zhang Tian led them down the steps.

As they descended the stairs, Fatty turned on his flashlight.

The three of them looked down.

They saw a coffin standing upright below, surrounded by countless artifacts.

The coffin was placed horizontally, with stone carvings standing around it, as if four people.

These four stone carvings stared at the coffin in the center, like four guardians.

"These are Guardian Stone Sculptures, corresponding to the Four Heavenly Kings. What lies inside this coffin must be of great wealth and status,"

Hu Bayi said, and Fatty looked at the antiques below, swallowing.

"Boss, what are you waiting for? Let's go down and take a look."

Fatty was a little excited.

Zhang Tian, however, stopped Fatty with one hand.

"Don't rush. This burial chamber is a bit strange, and look, on the other side of the chamber, there seems to be another burial chamber."

Zhang Tian said, and Hu Bayi was startled.

Two burial chambers?

But it seemed normal. Perhaps it was a burial chamber for accompanying the deceased?

"Let's go check out that burial chamber first. We'll leave this one for now."

Zhang Tian was a bit cautious.

After all, Zhang Tian couldn't understand the language of corpses.

If he provoked anything, Zhang Tian wouldn't be able to handle it.

Therefore, Zhang Tian did not want to directly offend what was below.

He decided to go and check out the other burial chamber.

"But, Boss, there are so many good things in here. They're all lying on the ground. It would be foolish not to pick them up."

Fatty was a little agitated.

"Right, Old Hu? Old Hu, say something."

"Listen to the boss."

Hu Bayi uttered a sentence, and Fatty, seeing this, said nothing more and could only nod.

The group walked towards the side burial chamber.

Upon entering the burial chamber, Zhang Tian was stunned.

He had thought they would avoid it, but unexpectedly, they still encountered it.

Inside the side burial chamber stood a large cauldron, clearly used for sacrifices.

"Damn it! Let's go."
