Chapter 9: Chapter 9 I Kissed the stranger.
" So what I wanted to share is that an influential family, a billionaire to be precise, is making a fatal weapon to wipe us all. So now that I have conveyed my message, see you all." Adrian smiled evilly, watching Matteo cry endlessly over his sliced-off hands.
Now that’s how I like it, Adrian whispered to himself.
Rosalie couldn’t do anything other than console Matteo and help carry him to the family clinic for treatment. And sure his work was done, Adrian gave a devilish wink and walked out.
A constant beep awakened Daniel, making him hyper-aware of his environment. For a moment, he was scared, trembling to himself, wondering how he got there.
The hospital was strange and crowded, making his subconscious scream at him to run. And just when he was about to do that, his eyes caught the heart monitor—and it was connected to him.
Also, a blood granular was strapped directly to his hands...
Then, while trying to identify the heavy clothes wrapped around them, he saw lines of bandages tied so tightly. And then it hit him so hard.
Once again, a heavy migraine. This time it was worse than the other ones that usually attacked him.
Oh fuck!!
Daniel was in profound pain and agony, and it wasn’t ending anytime soon.
Then he began to perceive different pheromones.
One after the other hit him so hard, each one sharper than before. Reality began to dawn on him—the suppressant must have faded faster since the blood in his system was filtered out.
What would he do now? How was he ever going to get one?
The angel... should he call her that? Even though she was just an afraid sister, she still rescued him from close blood loss and death caused by that wicked demon.
Oh—a demon fits him.
" So you’re awake, sleeping beauty." A pest quickly lashed herself on him, stunning him briefly.
Who was that? Daniel was feeling hungry now, starvation gnawing at him in a way he had never known—and it wasn’t funny.
He was getting angry. Hunger wasn’t something he was used to, and now it was burning through him.
Back at his mansion, different menus were always brought in, and no matter how maltreated he felt, he still ate his fill.
" Delicate flower, what’s your name?" Isabella—the pest, who was obviously trying to get some information from him—came closer.
Backing out a bit, he created that invisible boundary. He still had his class, and no matter the contract he may or may not sign, no one was going to control or walk over him, much less disrespect him.
" Daniel Morreti." He decided to lie about his surname. No one should know the family he came from—or the digging they might do from it.
Even his identity as an omega—and not just an ordinary one, but the highest of the highest—this wasn’t going to get anywhere.
Isabella, on hearing the name, twitched her face. She could swear the boy was from a rich family, but who the fuck were the Morreti?
Where was that even situated?
Oh—so he was from a poor background and now officially a whore.
Poor boy.
Without being told, Daniel could feel the condescending look she threw at him—mocking, demeaning—but he wasn’t bothered.
Things like her always did everything to remain relevant.
" We are not that made off. Like, middle class is the level we are." Daniel lied through his teeth.
Bella, as happy as she was that he was beneath her, couldn’t help but doubt.
The dress he was wearing was only made and distributed to certain families; no other family could get their hands on it.
The baggy crop top with Gucci written boldly on it, and the trousers—also baggy—designed by Versace with its logo imprinted at the back.
This set was expensive, and no one in the Valez household could have both. Was he lying?
That’s that for now, Bella brushed it aside.
" If you have recovered, I would like to give you a tour around the estate. Since you’re new here, you probably won’t have knowledge of anywhere close by." Isabella trailed, trying to sound reasonable.
" Awnn, how sweet of you." Daniel exclaimed in a mocking tone while praising her.
Bella smiled. She had to monitor him, and what’s more perfect to wedge Greta and Adrian apart than to make use of this foolish boy...
" Thanks, by the way, Daniel. Let’s be on our way." Then remembering, she gasped.
" Forgot you’re on medication. But it’s fine—later." Bella spoke with feigned sincerity.
Daniel just shook his head. Stupidity at the highest level—she didn’t even know when sarcasm was being used. Imagine praising her with an insulting tone and she was so happy.
What a daft human being.
Bella then patted Daniel’s head—the same annoying gesture Adrian did when he was dying of blood loss in that well.
" Don’t touch my hair." Daniel commanded, and Bella froze.
" That’s the spirit. You need that if you want to go through a day in Raven Liar." Bella cemented, and this didn’t sit well with Daniel, especially when he began to feel discomfort.
Being uncomfortable was one thing, but this was beyond that—he was sweating, his body trembling in strange sensations.
What’s happening to me? That drug—I need it now.
" Hmm, Bella, can you do me a favor? Please help me get close to any pharmacy that sells drugs. I can’t find a specific drug I use for my headache." Daniel shared, without giving too many details.
He tied his blonde hair back, making his delicate oval face stand out—the move giving him an even more radiant vibe.
" I am not a drug addict—just something to take and ease my pain." Daniel continued. He wasn’t wrong. And damn the heat—he knew the signs, and no matter how illegal the means might seem, he was definitely going to suppress it. It wasn’t coming now.
Bella looked at him for a minute before sighing. This was it—time to get into bigger trouble and drop him off as the perpetrator.
" Okay, I am in. Time to rebel. And mind you, as a new member, you’re not meant to leave the headquarters yet. But what can we do? It’s time to give you that tour I promised." Bella smiled, while Daniel faked a smile also.
Sounds boring, but this was just a means to get Bella as a shield. Whatever the girl might think was working for her, him—Daniel Lancaster—had a bigger plan.
Removing the blood granular, he slowly staggered as he felt slightly dizzy, but he brushed it off.
Nothing was stopping him. And this was the right time, before the drugs wore off completely and he became exposed.
With a black coat covering him from head to toe, Daniel hid beside Bella, who walked to a jeep and then opened it for Daniel to climb into.
Daniel smiled. This was his chance—he could even escape with this opportunity. But he had to be smart about it.
Riding through the numerous mazes, some guards saw her but didn’t stop, and Daniel let out a triumphant smile. He really did it.
But the heat was kicking in officially. He turned and nearly fell but still controlled it at the back seat. He didn’t want the gossiper of a girl riding the jeep to figure out his secret.
Drive fast, girl, Daniel whispered to himself, not noticing they had left the estate officially. Then it hit him—the worst.
" Haaaaaaaaaaaaa!" Daniel screamed, making Bella stop, and he rolled to the floor of the car, still clutching his stomach and neck, followed by other parts of his body.
" Daniel, are you okay?" Isabella questioned. She was already at the back of the jeep, trying to access what was happening to Daniel. And using that opportunity, Daniel grabbed a jack used to fix tires and flung it toward Bella. Right at that spot, she lost consciousness and fell with a loud thud.
Still clutching his body and stomach, he brought out a rope from underneath the car. How the rope made its way there, he had no clue.
Then slowly, he tied her up and placed her body in the boot of the car. Her body was heavy, but Daniel wasn’t the meek and weak omega who couldn’t even lift a block, so he easily tucked her in and locked the boot soundly.
Thankfully, he could ride a car. So he took control and drove the wheel furiously, going through the crowded road till he saw a market—a huge market filled with different chemicals, creams, and drugs. And among those drugs were the ones he normally took.
Here I come.
Halting the jeep, he quickly alighted and rushed to the store.
A huge one, apparently. And meeting the owner, he didn’t exchange words, just pointed at the drug he saw. The female seller nodded her head in acknowledgment, still curious why he was requesting it.
" Any germs to kill?" The sales girl asked, but Daniel didn’t respond. He just stretched his hands and searched his pocket—and lo and behold, his atm black card was gone.
Nope—this was not happening. And he needed to take it, as it was getting worse and worse.
Immediately that happened, a figure graced the store. Daniel immediately became overwhelmed by the pheromones.
He tried resisting—he could, yes. It was powerful, but he was more than that. Unfortunately, his body had reached its limit, and the heat couldn’t be suppressed anymore. So, throwing the bottle of liquid suppressant he got, he ran to the figure.
The clueless figure with red hair was about to talk when Daniel leaped at her and dragged him out of the store, trapping him against a wall.
If that wasn’t stunning enough, Daniel slammed his lips on his, delving his tongue into him in great need.
