Chapter 43: I can treat her---ahhhh

Chief Xie felt really uncomfortable. Honestly, she did wish to save Ah Man, but her hands were tied. Seeing that the poor mer was still kneeling in front of her, she sighed and said to Nuannuan, "Listen to me, Nuannuan. I know that it’s hard for you to accept this, but you heard Priestess Yuan; there is nothing that we can do about this situation."

Once she finished speaking, she turned to look at Priestess Yuan, waiting for the old woman to say something which would make Nuannuan understand that they were not trying to shake their hands off the responsibility. They truly could not save Ah Man.

Priestess Yuan nodded gravely from the side. She glanced at the little mer who was holding the child in his arms and said to him, "Unless there is a miracle, I am afraid that no one can save Ah Man."

As soon as the woman finished speaking, Xie Daiyu, who was standing on the side, silently raised his head and looked at the woman with a complicated look in his eyes. Miracle. Speaking of miracles, there was only one miracle in the tribe.

And that was Ruan Chanchan!

It was that woman who gave him that special medicine from the land of the gods and helped him get stronger. Earlier in the morning, Xie Daiyu was indeed scared that Ruan Chanchan might have poisoned him, which made him pull worms, but after he went to hunt, he realised that the medicine that Ruan Chanchan gave to him was simply godly!

He felt as if a burden had been removed from his body; he was not only more active, but his strength and the laziness that he usually felt were also gone. He simply felt refreshed to the point that he thought he could run for more than three hours.

[I will use the usual time setting. In case my readers have to note down all the time, months and weekday names. Lol]

If that woman could make his health better, then she should be able to do something about Ah Man?

With that thought, he turned around on his feet and headed straight to the cave where the Ruan family lived.

When Xie Daiyu arrived at the cave where Ruan Chanchan lived, she was sleeping peacefully. A trail of saliva flowed down from the corner of her mouth as she dreamt of living a good life after getting reborn in the family of billionaires. She even laughed quite evilly when she thought of how she was going to have fun after becoming a second-generation rich heir.

However, just as she was about to touch the silver spoon that was dancing right within her grasp, someone stepped forward and slapped her on the back of her head. The silver spoon flew out of her grasp.

"What?" Ruan Chanchan gasped as she was jolted awake from her dream. She was furious when she thought about how someone had ruined such a good dream of hers, but just as she turned her head, she saw a rather overlarge face looking at her. "What the hell!?"

Ruan Chanchan jerked and scrambled backwards. Her eyes widened as she looked at the mer in front of her. "What... Just what do you think you are trying to do?" She asked, sounding speechless, when she realized that it was actually Xie Daiyu. Her heart couldn’t help but pound a little loudly when she thought about how this mer was staring at her when she was asleep.

Don’t tell her that he was trying to murder her when she was sleeping? Was he still offended about what happened in the morning?

"Do you know how to treat the poison of the Mist Spider?" Xie Daiyu asked without letting Ruan Chanchan breathe.

"...What?" Ruan Chanchan was still half asleep and couldn’t understand what the mer was trying to ask her. What poison? What spider? She frowned and said, "I am telling you that I didn’t poison you. Why are you still hung up on it?" What did she have to do for the mer to stop causing her trouble?

As soon as she finished speaking, Xie Daiyu frowned. He looked at her before saying in annoyance, "I never said that you poisoned me. I am asking you if you can treat the poison of the Mist Spider!"

Ruan Chanchan snapped out of her daze, and this time around, she heard him rather clearly. She blinked her eyes, and instead of answering, she quickly turned to look for Xiao Xi. She asked the system, "Can you do it?"

"Of course," said Xiao Xi and even when Ruan Chanchan was half asleep, she could hear the pride in the voice of the system. He said to her, "It’s really easy. You just need to follow Xiao Xi and collect some of the herbs outside, including aspirin. With Moon Mist, aspirin and Red Toxin, you can create an antidote for the poison."

"And how useful will it be?" Ruan Chanchan asked as she slowly got to her feet.

"It’s 100% useful. Unlike the antidote that the beastwomen hand out to the beastmen and beastwomen in this world at the only temple of the Beast Goddess in the Central Plains. The antidote, which is handed to them, doesn’t have aspirin, which is a crucial element of the antidote. Since that is the case, the poison is never eliminated. And the survivors who take the antidote would fall sick in a matter of a few years once the poison flares up again. After that, they will die without making a sound."

"Other beastmen never took it seriously, as the warrior beastmen die all the time. Thus, no one noticed that there is a problem with the antidote or that it was half finished. But with the aspirin stored in the supermarket, the host can make a perfect antidote and earn gratitude points!"

Once Xiao Xi finished speaking, Ruan Chanchan nodded. She turned to look at Xie Daiyu, who was almost running out of patience and nodded. "I can treat the poison—AHHHH!!"
