Chapter 1635: Chapter 1635 Caught Red-Handed

She was accustomed to family banquets, yet she despised socializing. With Duke shielding her, she was happy to go along.

Having made up her mind, Rui Hui stuck close to Duke, remaining silent at any occasion where she didn’t have to speak.

She would only greet particularly familiar people.

Even so, the venue was too big, and too many people came looking for Duke. After a round, Rui Hui was still feeling impatient.

The high heels on her feet made the free-spirited Rui Hui feel uncomfortable.

“What’s wrong? Are you tired?” Duke noticed her discomfort immediately and asked with concern.

“…No, it’s just that wandering around like this is so boring,” Rui Hui stuck out her tongue playfully, complaining in a low voice.

Hearing her say she was bored, Duke was slightly taken aback. He glanced at the guests still waiting for him to toast, and gestured for a waiter to come over.

“Take Miss Rui Hui to the lounge first.”

“…” Rui Hui paused, looking at him.

“You go rest in the lounge for a bit. I’ll greet a few uncles, and then I’ll take you out for a stroll so you won’t be bored,” Duke smiled gently, his eyes indulgently focused on Rui Hui.

Rui Hui was taken aback, a bit surprised.

But she was indeed tired of such occasions, so she nodded and followed the waiter.

“How could Colonel Duke let her go just like that without introducing us?” A man in a military officer’s attire approached Duke holding a glass of red wine, raising his glass toward him.

Trailing behind him were several equally young men, presumably Duke’s friends.

“Rui Hui doesn’t like socializing. There will be an opportunity to meet her another day.” Duke raised his glass to the guests, politely downing it in one go.

In his words, it seemed he had already regarded Rui Hui as his own woman.

“Who would have thought that the ever-virtuous Colonel Duke already had his sights set on someone. Just returned to Berlin and moving fast!” The man swung his fist and lightly tapped Duke on the chest.

“You flatter me.” Duke allowed the jesting from those around him, maintaining a faint smile on his face.

Somehow, a handsome figure passed by them, pausing slightly on hearing the conversation.

The silver-white eyes momentarily turned ominous, faintly glinting.

Turning his head, he fiercely glared at Duke Selter standing in the crowd.

The hand at his side quietly clenched.

After hesitating for a few seconds, he moved past the crowd, heading towards the venue’s lounge.

“Miss Rui Hui, we have arrived.”

The waiter brought Rui Hui to a secluded lounge, “This is the lounge reserved for important guests, so rest assured, Miss Rui Hui, no one will disturb you.”

“Thank you.”

Rui Hui nodded politely, then pushed the door open and walked in.

She turned on the light, closed the door, and began to walk inside.

The room was very luxurious, entirely like a top-star hotel suite, with a king-size bed topped with heart-shaped rose petals. Even the vase on the bedside table contained roses, making it resemble a proposal scene.

Rui Hui took off her high heels and slipped into the provided slippers.

Just as she was about to enter the bathroom, she heard the doorbell ring.

She paused, thinking it was the waiter from earlier, and walked to the door, reaching to open it.

Upon seeing the man standing outside, Rui Hui froze.

Her alluring eyes widened instantly, her small mouth slightly open, looking as if she had just swallowed a whole egg.
