Chapter 1545: Chapter 1545: Dare to Deceive Me, I’ll Make You Pay!
Dan Hanjie pulled her hand and pressed it against his left chest.
Sweet words came effortlessly.
He spoke without blushing or gasping.
Qin Youxuan’s fingertips trembled as she looked at him with reddened eyes.
She had never known that he could sweet-talk like this, making her unable to resist no matter what he said.
“I don’t want to go back.”
Qin Youxuan withdrew her hand, turned around, and avoided looking at his disappointed expression.
After hesitating for a long time, she finally spoke.
“This time, I bear responsibility too. Stay here if you want, but you can only stay in the room. When Ru is around, don’t appear in front of her.”
“Alright.”
Dan Hanjie agreed so decisively that it made Qin Youxuan frown.
She had a nagging feeling that something was off, though she couldn’t pinpoint it.
“By the way, you can’t stay here tonight. You don’t have any clothes to change into.” Qin Youxuan suddenly remembered something and exclaimed.
“Yao will bring them over shortly,” Dan Hanjie squinted his eyes and responded faintly.
This time, it happened remarkably quickly.
In less than half an hour, Yao arrived at the Ye Family estate, hurriedly carrying large and small bags.
“Mr. Jie, here are your clothes, shoes, socks, and toiletries…”
“And also…”
In short, everything from head to toe, inside and out, was ready.
It was as though a luxury convenience store had seamlessly delivered everything.
Qin Youxuan crossed her arms, standing off to the side and watching.
Watching Yao, who was drenched in sweat, she pursed her cherry lips and said, “You must’ve had a hard time preparing all this, right?”
“Not at all, Mrs. Jie,” Yao replied respectfully.
“You don’t need to be so formal. I can tell you were rushing around non-stop—here, drink some water first.” Qin Youxuan kindly poured a glass of water and handed it to Yao, speaking absentmindedly as she continued.
“My phone seems to be out of battery. Can I borrow yours to make a call?”
“Of course,” Yao was mid-sip and didn’t think twice before pulling out his phone, unlocking it, and handing it to Qin Youxuan.
Taking the phone, Qin Youxuan casually glanced at Dan Hanjie, who was leisurely putting on clothes.
She lowered her gaze and started scrolling through the call records.
As soon as she saw something, her palm suddenly felt empty.
“If you need to get in touch with someone, just use the landline. Yao has other matters to attend to—let him leave.” Dan Hanjie, expressionless, tossed the phone back to Yao, his face entirely composed.
“It’s just a call—why are you acting so tense? Afraid I’ll uncover something?” Qin Youxuan’s feline-like eyes gleamed with suspicion.
“What nonsense are you imagining?” Dan Hanjie pressed down on her petite head.
“You didn’t actually call Yao earlier, did you?” Qin Youxuan shrugged off his hand, her bright cat-like eyes narrowing.
Yao instantly sensed something was amiss upon hearing this.
He quickly deleted all the call logs on his phone, shoved it into his pocket, straightened his posture, and began retreating silently toward the door.
By the time Qin Youxuan realized what was happening, Yao had already slipped out of the room, vanishing in an instant.
The previously flustered Dan Hanjie became calm in the blink of an eye.
Casually reclining on the sofa, he said, “What nonsense are you talking about? I did call him; Yao’s busy.”
“He’s your assistant—is there anything more important than you?” Qin Youxuan questioned skeptically.
“Of course, it’s tasks I assigned him,” Dan Hanjie elegantly crossed his legs, his expression suddenly turning melancholic. “I’ve been sidelined; going to the company only earns me scorn. Some matters can only be handled by Yao.”
Dan Hanjie’s seamless shifts in expression left Qin Youxuan completely defenseless.
Seeing him sink into despondency again made her mood plummet as well. Biting her lip, she said, “You’d better not be lying to me, or you’ll regret it!”
