Took the car from the garage and drove straight back home.
After leaving the Dan Group headquarters, he dialed Qin Youxuan’s number.
The call connected, but no one picked up.
Dan Hanjie’s eyes flickered as he called the butler instead.
“Where is she?”
Dan Hanjie arched an eyebrow, thinking about how Qin Youxuan had come to the villa looking for him. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly.
Yesterday, she was adamant about kicking him out. Today, she’s anxious to find him. She must’ve heard about the Dan Group incident.
She’s worried about him.
This realization softened Dan Hanjie’s normally cold and stern expression in an instant.
He wished Qin Youxuan was right in front of him now, so he could pull her fiercely into his arms.
“Mr. Jie, Madam has already left. It seems like she was going to find you. She appeared very anxious, so I informed the secretary.”
“Looking for me?”

Where would Qin Youxuan go to find him?

Dan Hanjie slowed down the car, planning to make a turn at the next intersection after the traffic light.

Just as he eased off the gas pedal, two cars behind him suddenly flanked him from both sides.
All their windows were tightly shut, and their reckless speed was unsettling.
Out of the corner of his eye, Dan Hanjie caught a glint of metal reflecting off the windshield to his right. His senses went on high alert.
He jerked the steering wheel sharply and ducked down in an instant.
A muffled sound grazed past his ear. Dan Hanjie quickly lifted his head, only to see a bullet hole in the upholstery of his car.
The previously closed window of the car on the right now had a small gap, through which a silenced gun was adjusting its aim.
“Bang—”
Dan Hanjie hit the accelerator, steering hard to the right and ramming into the car beside him.
The two cars scraped against each other before separating just as quickly.
Stepping on the gas pedal again, Dan Hanjie’s car shot forward like an arrow leaving its bow.
The car on the left continued in hot pursuit, both vehicles racing to keep up with his speed.
Through the rearview mirror, Dan Hanjie glanced at the cars chasing him, his gaze turning sharp and fierce.
Excellent. He had been worried that Dan Yi would target Qin Youxuan and the child, but apparently, Dan Yi couldn’t sit still and had decided to go after him directly.
Dan Hanjie’s hand reached swiftly under the seat, pulling out a gun. He loaded the weapon.
Pushing his car to its maximum speed, he headed toward a less crowded area.

Qin Youxuan’s car had just passed the traffic lights near the Dan Group when she caught sight of a familiar sports car speeding past.
She froze for a moment before turning her vehicle around to give chase.
Grabbing her phone, she dialed his number, but no one answered.
“Why won’t he pick up?” Qin Youxuan bit her lip, pressing down harder on the gas pedal.
Thinking that Dan Hanjie must be upset and didn’t want to see her, her worry only grew stronger.
She kept tailing his car, unwilling to fall behind.
After crossing three intersections, Qin Youxuan finally noticed two other cars sticking close to Dan Hanjie’s vehicle, one on either side. Her cat-like eyes narrowed sharply.
She accelerated, trying to get closer. As she neared, she spotted the muzzle of a gun sticking out of the left car’s window, almost making her scream out loud.
“Dan Hanjie, watch out!”
Panic overtaking her, Qin Youxuan drove her car straight into the car on the left.
Her car engine stalled.
The vehicle she hit only jolted slightly before resuming its pursuit of Dan Hanjie.
Qin Youxuan’s face turned pale. Shaken by what had just happened, her trembling hands fumbled to restart the car before she sped after them again.
The car had barely gone far when her phone rang.
Glancing at the caller ID, Qin Youxuan’s heart leaped with joy.
“Dan Hanjie, be careful! Someone’s trying to kill you…”
“Get out of here! Leave immediately!”
Dan Hanjie roared before cutting off the call.
