Chapter 1560: Chapter 1560: You Said You Would Take Care of Me for a Lifetime

Qin Youxuan discovered the man slumped in the driver’s seat and ran toward him as fast as she could.

The moment she got close to him, her whole body trembled. When her fingertips touched his shoulder, Qin Youxuan’s voice was already tinged with sobs.

“Wake up, don’t scare me…”

The next second, she saw Dan Hanjie move slightly.

Qin Youxuan’s body jolted, and she froze completely.

By the time she regained her senses, Dan Hanjie was already propping himself up, raising his head. Their eyes met—both of them were battered and disheveled, yet somehow, they both managed to smile.

“You bastard, you nearly scared me to death…”

Qin Youxuan suddenly burst into tears, throwing herself at him and clinging tightly to his neck, crying like a helpless child.

Dan Hanjie embraced her with one arm. When he saw the blood on her forehead, his heart twisted in pain, and he furrowed his brows.

“It’s okay now.”

Dan Hanjie held her tighter, wanting to raise his hand to open the car door, but his other hand had no strength.

“I’ll help you.”

Qin Youxuan swiftly reached one hand through the open car window, pressing the lock button several times, but there was no response.

“It seems broken. I’ll try the other side.”

Qin Youxuan released her grip, her petite figure withdrawing from the car window. She circled to the other side but still couldn’t open the door.

Out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of the leaking fuel tank. Her cat-like eyes suddenly tightened.

“This isn’t good. The car is leaking fuel—it might explode!”

Without hesitation, Qin Youxuan grabbed the car door with both hands and yanked hard.

She tried several times, but the door wouldn’t budge.

The front of Dan Hanjie’s car was severely deformed, and the doors were warped. The locks were completely jammed.

“I’ll pull you out through the window.”

Unable to open the door, Qin Youxuan circled back to Dan Hanjie’s side and smashed the car window to pieces for him.

She gripped both his arms and tried to tug him out. In no time, Dan Hanjie pressed down on her hands.

“You leave first—go far away, as far as you can.”

“No way! Dan Hanjie, don’t say things like that to me. I won’t leave you behind! We still have time. Instead of wasting time persuading me to escape alone, why not focus on figuring out a way to save yourself!”

Qin Youxuan shouted back at him, louder this time.

Her hands used every ounce of strength she could muster, desperately trying to pull Dan Hanjie out, wishing she could drag him out of the car in the very next moment.

“It’s useless—it’s stuck.”

Dan Hanjie couldn’t bear to watch her struggle like that, his big hand pressing gently on the back of her head.

He could feel that his right leg was trapped by the deformed brake pedal. Below the knee, his leg had already lost all sensation.

Any movement made him feel as if the entire limb might be torn off.

His mind grew increasingly hazy, his strength draining quickly.

Qin Youxuan’s face began to blur, but he fought desperately to get one last clear look at her.

“Cat, I love you.”

Dan Hanjie leaned down and kissed her lips. “Leave this place. Take care of yourself. Tingye can’t lose his mother.”

“Tingye can’t lose his father either!”

Qin Youxuan refused to listen. Hearing Dan Hanjie say something like that, she burst into tears again.

“Dan Hanjie, you coward! It’s not the end yet—how dare you give up? You promised to take care of me for a lifetime! I’m only twenty-three years old, and now you’re planning to abandon me? If you dare to die, I’ll marry Jin Chenye, and let your son call him Dad!”

“…”

Dan Hanjie’s bewitching eyes narrowed sharply. Just imagining such a scene made him grit his teeth with hatred.

“Let’s try again, okay? Don’t give up so soon. Think about Tingye, think about our son. He’s still so small… How pitiful would it be if he lost both his parents…”
