Chapter 1571: Chapter 1571: Let Him Stay Where He Pleases!
I’ve never been this annoyed!
Rui Hui silently cursed in her heart, completely unaware that outside the pharmacy, a strikingly handsome figure was hidden around the corner, quietly listening to the commotion coming from inside.
Upon hearing her complaints, his gaze darkened slightly.
He stood there for a long time before finally turning to leave.
…
In the VIP ward.
“It’s a bit hot, drink it slowly.”
Qin Youxuan sat by the bedside, gently bringing the soup to Dan Hanjie’s lips, not forgetting to remind him.
After he finished drinking, she scooped another spoonful, blew on it to cool it down, then handed it to him.
Her delicate face carried a faint smile. As she watched Dan Hanjie obediently sip the soup, her eyes held an unprecedented sense of satisfaction.
“It’s said that eating something resembling the shape of the injured part helps with recovery. Your foot is hurt, so have more pig trotters soup to heal faster.”
Qin Youxuan fed him all the soup in the bowl before setting it down and reached for a tissue to wipe his mouth.
Her hand was suddenly seized by him.
“Are you calling me a pig?” Dan Hanjie raised an eyebrow, his handsome face darkening instantly.
“That’s not what I meant, you’re overthinking it. Do you really think a pig could be as good-looking as you?” Qin Youxuan lightly patted his head, coaxing him as though he were a child. “Are you full? Is there anything else you’d like to eat?”
“Yes, you.”
Dan Hanjie flashed a devilish smile and spat out two words.
The pause was so brief that Qin Youxuan didn’t catch his meaning right away.
In the next second, her face turned scarlet.
“Dan Hanjie!”
“Don’t worry, I can’t eat you right now. So, I’ll keep it on credit.”
“…”
A thing like this can be kept on credit?
Three black lines slipped down Qin Youxuan’s face.
She glanced at Dan Hanjie’s injured right leg, and her feline-like eyes instantly dimmed.
If he fully understood the severity of his injury, would he still be in such good spirits, teasing her?
Qin Youxuan clenched her palm tightly, forcing herself not to overthink it. After tidying up, she set everything aside.
She sat down next to him.
Dan Hanjie pulled her into his arms with ease, catching the hint of worry on her face. His enchanting eyes flickered slightly.
He admitted that keeping this from her—if she were to find out—she’d likely explode in fury.
But they had been apart for far too long, and he wished desperately to keep her by his side, every second of every minute.
His foot injury was currently his most advantageous bargaining chip.
Shameless? So be it—he never claimed to be a saint.
What mattered was having his wife in his hands, the world was his.
“Knock, knock—”
There was a knock at the door of the ward.
Qin Youxuan froze for a moment, then quickly shifted to sit upright.
She saw a nurse push the door open and enter.
“Miss Qin, there’s someone downstairs asking for you and Mr. Jie. Should I tell them the room number?” The little nurse asked respectfully.
“Who is it?”
Qin Youxuan steadied herself and was slightly startled by the nurse’s words.
Then, recalling something, she spoke with a bit of urgency, “Let them come up. I almost forgot.”
Qin Youxuan raised her head and gave her forehead a light slap.
“It’s probably Ru bringing Tingye. He’s been crying nonstop without seeing his mom and dad, so I asked her to bring him here.” Qin Youxuan sat back on the edge of the bed and looked at Dan Hanjie.
Seeing him frown slightly, she assumed he didn’t want to see Su Yiru.
“Ru is just worried about me and came to check in; she won’t stay long.”
“And the brat?” Dan Hanjie suddenly spoke.
“…” Qin Youxuan froze.
Dan Hanjie’s large hand was already at her waist, pinching a bit of the tender flesh there as he gritted his teeth and said, “We’ve just reconciled, and you don’t expect to keep that third wheel in the hospital, do you?”
“What third wheel? Tingye is your son.” Qin Youxuan huffed, glaring at him.
“He’s still a third wheel. Let him stay wherever he feels like, just not near us!”
