Chapter 44: Let’s Kill Dante
"If the news about our financial situation gets out to the public, then the company will sink."
This was not what Dante had been hoping to deal with today, and he couldn’t help but sigh while running his hand through his hair. Florence watched Dante’s face for any reaction to her news, and she was surprised when she only saw him sigh. Florence thought that Dante would have a more intense reaction, but for some reason Dante still had a perfectly calm face, and he was looking through the papers with narrowed eyes to try to figure something out! Was this not shocking to him!? Why did he seem so calm about this!? Florence couldn’t help but wonder what was going through Dante’s mind at that moment, and a part of her began to wonder if Dante had already known about the bubble that would soon burst! If Dante knew that there were expenses hidden from the rest of the company, then it wouldn’t be surprising to hear that he also knew about the bubble!
A strange, insane thought suddenly passed through Florence’s mind, and for a moment, Florence almost slapped herself for how insane that thought was! But Florence glanced at Dante cautiously, and she couldn’t help but think that it was a possibility. Was Dante trying to liquidate his stocks before the bubble burst?
The Liquidation of Stocks was a term used to describe a form of insider trading. It happens when a CEO or any other high-ranking member of a company sells all their stocks just before a market crash or before the company’s stocks drop in order to protect their own investments. This was the major reason for the Great Depression so long ago. A lot of big investors sold their stocks, and this made the stock value plummet, and sent many people into debt when they lost their investments! If Dante tried to do the same thing, then Florence didn’t know if she could accept that! It would ruin millions of people who had invested in them, and there was no way she could stand for that!
’But even if he did, is there anything I can do about it?’
Florence knew that Dante was one of the most powerful men in the entire city at this moment! So if she tried to do anything against him, then it would be her head on the line! Dante could kill her and hide her body without anyone ever asking any questions! Florence decided at that moment that it would be smarter to just not say anything at all! She would wait for Dante to speak, and she would hope that he wasn’t planning to liquidate! Florence watched Dante silently for a few seconds, and Dante finally spoke calmly.
"We need investors, or a new influx of money. Something that would help us cover the deficit from the debts."
Florence nodded at Dante’s reasoning. That was the best thing that they could do right now. Getting new revenue would allow them to cover the debt, and they would be able to make more money in the next quarter to return to regular financial balance, but that would also be difficult! Even if they could just correct things by getting investors, they would still need a lot of investors! Someone would have to put at least ten billion dollars into the company before they could fix the problems, and Florence couldn’t think of any way to get that much money! If they made the mistake of sending out a press release to ask for interested investors, then they would be stupid! This would only make their competitors know that they were struggling, and it would make the public sell their stocks out of fear!
Florence said all these things to Dante, and Dante closed his eyes and released another calm sigh as he saw the sense in her words. They couldn’t openly ask for money, and they couldn’t leave things as they were. It would be difficult to fix things so quickly.

Florence nodded quickly, and there was a bit of relief on her face when she heard Dante’s words. Florence now knew that Dante was taking this seriously, and he wasn’t just trying to liquidate his funds and leave the company to suffer. That was good! At least now she could focus on finding a solution! Florence took the files and thanked Dante for his time, and Dante stood up and walked out of the office with Risa following behind him.

[Angelina’s Room.]
Angelina was sitting on her bed and scrolling through social media with a bored look on her face. Although the past few days had been shocking, there wasn’t a lot that Angelina could do about it. Angelina was angry about how Dante had taken Fredrick’s inheritance, and she thought it was very unfair for her father to have left Fredrick with nothing like that, but it wasn’t possible to change anything. Dante was the new boss of the family, and any attempt on his life would probably leave her and everyone else involved dead. There were just too many people around Dante now, and he was most likely the most protected man in the entire city!
Besides, Angelina also knew how dangerous Dante was as a person. If she went after Dante’s life, even if she managed to get past all of his security, she would then be faced with the impossible task of killing the man called Grim Reaper by the entire city!
’Yeah, right. It’s better to just forget about all this and plan my next vacation. I’m not happy about what happened, but I’m not going to lose my life over it. I still have a hundred million to spend anyway!’
Angelina felt a smile bloom on her face once she thought about the inheritance that her father left for her, and she was about to switch apps on her phone so she could start looking for expensive vacation locations, but a knock on her door suddenly pulled her attention. Angelina narrowed her eyes at the door as she asked who was there, and she heard Richard’s voice come through.
"I need to talk to you. Open up."
Richard sounded like he was in a hurry for some reason, and Angelina had half a mind to simply ignore him and return to her shopping, but she sighed and decided that it wouldn’t hurt to hear him out. He was her brother, so she was sure that he was also feeling irritated by this whole situation. Angelina went to open the door, and she moved to the side as Richard walked into the room confidently. Richard stood in the middle of her room and stared at the floor with his hands in his pockets. Angelina closed the door and asked Richard what was going on with him, and Angelina raised an eyebrow when Richard didn’t say anything for a while. Richard was just standing there with a frown on his face, and Angelina finally snapped at him and told him to just speak!
Richard looked into Angelina’s eyes and spoke with more seriousness than Angelina had ever seen in her life.
"Let’s kill Dante."
