Chapter 56: Chapter 13: Spiritual Energy 1
Pick really disappeared.
Su Ziyu carefully returned to the town. Along the way, some Great Elves greeted him, then went about their own business.
Yesterday, Su Ziyu personally witnessed the entire town flying up and blending with dirt and rubble to form that enormous mud golem, which looked very much like these Great Elves, holding a black mud-shaped apple in its hands. But now everything in the town looked exactly the same as it did during the day yesterday, with not even the position of the flowers or grass changed.
"Is this a dream? Or are the rules of this world very special?" Su Ziyu felt like he was getting confused.
He stopped a nearby Great Elf and tentatively asked, "Where’s Pick? Why isn’t he around today?"
Jack was taken out by me.
He claimed he wasn’t Pick, but now he’s dead, and Pick is missing too.
"Pick?" The Great Elf tilted its head in confusion and thought for a moment before saying, "There’s no such person named Pick here."
What?
Su Ziyu was taken aback and slowly said, "Rebellious Pick."
"Don’t you remember him?"
The Great Elf grinned and said, "Rebellious Pick? Why would there be such a strange title! There’s no one here named Pick."
"By the way."
"Are you hungry? There’s something tasty prepared over there."
The Great Elves during the day were diligent, capable, and hospitable. Su Ziyu asked several people in succession, but the result was that none of them remembered Pick, as if Pick’s existence had been completely erased.
Which one is real?
The daytime?
Or the nighttime?
Su Ziyu, holding his weapon, arrived at the golden sunflower field nearby. There were no Great Elves around, and the tall sunflowers seemed normal. However, these closely packed sunflowers grew together like a cornfield, and Su Ziyu didn’t dare to step in rashly but just walked around the land.
No anomalies at all.
Everything in the daytime looked like a beautiful fairy tale world, and Su Ziyu couldn’t find any clues here.
"Is it because I can’t use magic?" he murmured, rubbing his forehead.
After last night’s battle, the Space-Time Monitor System opened another branch for enhancement routes, but this route required a prerequisite: perception enhancement must be activated first.
— "Perception Enhancement LV1."
Su Ziyu spent 1 point of Source Power Value to activate Perception Enhancement, but this didn’t bring about any significant change, just made him feel as if a biological current generated in his body, and then his five senses seemed to enhance a little over a few seconds. Most human perception is reflected in observational power and intuitive sensing, and with Su Ziyu’s current improvement, the best he could do was quickly detect when someone was watching him from behind.
The prerequisite requirements for the Perception Enhancement route were higher.
— "Perception Enhancement LV2."
This time Su Ziyu spent 2 points of Source Power Value.
— "Perception Enhancement LV3."
This time, Su Ziyu spent 4 points of Source Power Value, and then several additional branching abilities emerged on the massive skill tree represented by the data stream.
"Spiritual Vision: Supernatural Vision, capable of observing things invisible to the naked eye. Consumes 2 points of Source Power Value."
"Intuitive Evasion: Provides additional evasion buffs supplied by perception ability, allowing preemptive avoidance of attacks based on intuition. Enhanced as perception ability increases. Consumes 2 points of Source Power Value."
"Spiritual Awakening: Perceive the inner body and mind, awakening the power of the mind. Consumes 2 points of Source Power Value." [Activates Spiritual Enhancement Skill Tree.]
Skills at LV1 consume 1 point of Source Power Value, LV2 consume 2 points.
However, unlocking skills at LV3 costs a full 4 points of Source Power Value. If calculated following this pattern, LV4 would require 8 points, LV5 would require 16 points, and LV6 would require 32 points.
When Su Ziyu initially obtained 1 point of Divinity Value, it directly upgraded Physical Enhancement from LV1 to LV6.
Through simple mathematics, 2+4+8+16+32=62, the value of Divinity Value somewhat exceeded Su Ziyu’s estimation, and it would be more than 62, but not enough to upgrade to Physical LV7, meaning Divinity Value roughly equates to 62-125 points of Source Power Value.
To compute the specific value, Physical Enhancement LV7 must be activated, but currently, there’s not enough Source Power Value.
"Looks like I’ll have to find some AI integration in the future, otherwise the system’s auxiliary functions are too basic," Su Ziyu mumbled.
points of Source Power Value consumed a total of 7 points.
Su Ziyu’s sensory capabilities significantly enhanced. When he concentrated, everything around him mapped into his mind.
Within the Perception Skill Tree Branch abilities, Intuitive Evasion was the first ability Su Ziyu eliminated. It might be useful in the Wasteland World, but currently, what he needed more was supernatural power.
There’s no doubt.
Spiritual Vision and Spiritual Awakening were what he needed most right now.
The first skill Su Ziyu reinforced was Spiritual Awakening. When this skill lit up, he felt as if his entire consciousness sank into a void, and then his body seemed to submerge in the water, breathing as though within amniotic fluid. He observed many light spots within his body, reminiscent of illuminated stars. He wasn’t sure what they were; thinking with the mindset of an Eastern person, he guessed these might be acupuncture points within the human body.
He extracted a trace of power from these illuminated internal stars, and that feeling was phenomenal, almost indescribable in words.
Whhoo!
When Su Ziyu opened his eyes, he was still standing outside the sunflower field. However, the originally massive skill tree had now sprouted another branch from the perception branch.
— "Spiritual Energy LV1."
The abilities extend from the Spiritual Skill Tree: ’Mind Telepathy’ and ’Telekinesis Mastery.’ These are the branching abilities of Spiritual LV1, with future abilities requiring prerequisites such as ’Spiritual Armor,’ ’Mind Suggestion,’ ’Mind Communication,’ etc.
"Incredible!"
Su Ziyu concentrated his mind and pointed his hand towards a stone lying on the ground. That stone wobbled, rising around five centimeters off the ground, before clattering back down.
Do I have superpowers now?
Su Ziyu felt a bit excited. After contemplating for a moment, he placed his remaining 2 points of Source Power Value into ’Spiritual Vision’. Mind Telepathy seemed like a passive ability, and Telekinesis Mastery didn’t seem powerful enough, at least not as potent as his BTL82M Anti-Material Sniper Rifle.
In this current scenario, mastering the ability of ’Spiritual Vision’ served a greater purpose.
— "Spiritual Vision."
When the ability of Spiritual Vision was activated, Su Ziyu’s sight was suddenly obscured by a grey, foggy mist.
He could confirm there was no fog during the day, yet he now saw a vast mist and within it, a terrifying scarecrow towering dozens of meters high. It seemed to sense his gaze, for the sunflowers that made up its face turned around and stared at Su Ziyu!
It felt like his head was pounded heavily with a hammer.
Su Ziyu felt some instant mental fatigue, and that peculiar vision vanished in a blink. His eyes saw only the golden sunflower fields, and the strange, horrifying scarecrow was gone.
