Chapter 86: Chapter 3: Demon Hunter 1
Su Ziyu didn’t care about the bounty they mentioned, but he wanted to gather intelligence on this world.
He put away his black dagger.
Then, with a sprint, he arrived next to the woman in the blood-red tight outfit and said solemnly, "Give me your longsword."
This woman had two weapons.
One was a thrusting sword.
The other was a longsword.
She was startled by Su Ziyu’s speed, but quickly reacted by swiftly drawing her weapon and tossing it to him.
Su Ziyu had never felt that his speed was all that fast, especially when compared to immensely powerful monsters like the Living Corpse Ghost, Mutant Giant, Giant Snake, or Nightmare. But in contrast to ordinary people, his burst of speed was astonishing!
A flash of cold light swept through.
Su Ziyu surged directly into the pack of rotten corpses, able to sense in advance the direction of their attacks. Moving like a phantom, his incredible strength could cut these monsters to pieces with a single sword strike, and wherever he passed, the rotten corpses fell one after another, either decapitated or cut in half.
Clang!
Su Ziyu flicked the blade to shake off the blood stains, glanced at the shocked woman beside him, and said, "This sword is nice."
He casually tossed the longsword back.
Behind him were left the bodies of twenty or thirty rotten corpses, all the ghouls as well taking a single fatal blow. They weren’t nearly as formidable as the Living Corpse Ghosts of the Wasteland World, being weaker in speed and strength and lacking resilience.
One must know that Living Corpse Ghosts could confront Exoskeleton Power Armor head-on.
"The energy level of this world isn’t high," Su Ziyu thought to himself.
The only monster left in the entire graveyard was the Plague Beldam, but Su Ziyu didn’t have the intention to attack for now.
Because his weapons were ineffective against it.
Unless he exposed his Spiritual Energy, he’d have to find a way to get that man’s great sword.
That sword was special.
The blade reflected a sheen of silver light, which could effectively harm the Plague Beldam before him.
At this moment.
After entering this world, Su Ziyu’s data page had changed a bit.
"Name: Su Ziyu."
"Race: Human [Divine Being]."
"Biological Level: Tier Two."
"Abilities: White Crow Swordsmanship LV1, Firearms Mastery LV1, Spiritual Energy LV3, Driving Mastery LV0, Time Acceleration LV5 (Spiritual Energy)."
"Attributes: Physical Enhancement LV6, Agility Enhancement LV2, Power Enhancement LV1, Perception Enhancement LV3, Charm Enhancement LV1, Dragon Blood Baptism LV1, Master of Language, Person Beyond Destiny, Blessing of the Guardian Witch, Spiritual Lightning, Spiritual Vision, Space Awakening."
"Source Power Value: 8."
"Divinity Value: 0."
Upon entering this world, Su Ziyu gained Charm Enhancement LV1, an enhancement direction that seemed somewhat useless.
His Time Acceleration ability increased by one level again.
Besides that, there weren’t many other changes; the improvement in physical qualities wasn’t obvious, and Charm Enhancement seemed not to directly boost combat power.
He had always thought he was somewhat weak.
But now he discovered that if it were just conventional monsters, his strength was actually quite formidable.
— "Flame Seal!"
After Su Ziyu finished his battle, the man didn’t need to worry about elsewhere. A peculiar spiritual symbol, reminiscent of Runes, appeared on his palm. Upon contact with the Plague Beldam’s body, it instantly turned into flames, igniting it. Soon, a painful wailing could be heard from the Plague Beldam.
Su Ziyu’s eyes narrowed slightly. This world may have a low energy level, but there were still those who mastered the power of magic.
The demon hunter instantly burst with incredible strength and speed, slicing off the Plague Beldam’s head with one stroke.
Amidst the eerie cries, the Plague Beldam’s body gradually disintegrated, leaving behind a dark green bead, resembling the one Su Ziyu had obtained before.
"Task completed."
"Gained 1 Source Power Value."
The man bent down to pick up the bead, watching Su Ziyu approach with a wary look and said, "Van Helsing from the Raven School."
"Su." Meeting his gaze, Su Ziyu said, "A traveler."
Traveler?
The man in front regarded him oddly and said in a deep voice, "This is Melissa. My apprentice."
"Thanks for your help earlier."
Most demon hunters have their own schools, and with Su Ziyu’s impressive skills, claiming to be just a traveler seemed unusual to Van Helsing.
Yet, he didn’t rashly pry into a stranger’s secrets.
Especially not someone as formidable.
"No worries," Su Ziyu smiled, rapidly mastering their language, and said slowly, "Besides, I’m doing a paid job."
Talking about money bridged the gap between them considerably.
If Su Ziyu didn’t ask for anything in return, the demon hunter in front would be more wary.
But now he said, "Let’s rest ahead."
"We can collect the bounty tomorrow."
The woman beside him was his apprentice, looking quite young with a striking appearance. She had long auburn hair, with a faint scar on her cheek that didn’t mar her beauty, adding a bit of sharpness. This woman wasn’t very strong, but Van Helsing was evidently a dangerous man, perhaps even better in swordsmanship than Su Ziyu. Without using firearms and Spiritual Energy, Su Ziyu might not be his match.
Melissa was obviously very curious about Su Ziyu.
A demon hunter with strange attire, strong and skilled, origins unknown, claiming to be a traveler.
She wanted to ask something but was stopped by Van Helsing’s look.
A few relatively intact houses lay ahead.
They seemed to have been cleaned just today. Su Ziyu chose the one on the right, while the demon hunter and his apprentice picked the one on the left.
As night deepened.
There was little interaction between them, just simple introductions.
Su Ziyu felt hardly any sleepiness, only leaning against the wall in a trance. The two next door spoke softly, too quiet even for his perception.
About an hour later.
Were they master and apprentice, or lovers?
Su Ziyu frowned slightly. These demon hunters, really? If he hadn’t seen it wrong, they both had sustained some injuries. Out of courtesy, he felt it wasn’t the time to interrupt, choosing instead to reenter a meditative state. He still had much intelligence to collect about this world, and these two demon hunters definitely knew more than ordinary people, so he needed to follow them for now.
The dawn was just breaking.
Su Ziyu opened his eyes and smelled a strong herbal scent.
Upon stepping out, he saw Van Helsing concocting a blackish potion with care, collecting it into a bottle.
The potion had a cold aura, similar to the bead he obtained last night.
Speaking of which.
These demon hunters had a similar aura to his own, which came from the Antiradiation Potion, although he didn’t know where the aura on this demon hunter came from.
