Chapter 119: Chapter 26: Riding the Wave 2
The clues have been cut off again.
However, thankfully there’s a bit of discovery; they’ve appeared in the Northern Continent and are hunting someone.
Lady Inid has been secretly observing Su Ziyu.
She’s always been curious about why Su Ziyu is so interested in those Ghost Hunters who are said to be able to traverse time and space, but she knows some secrets shouldn’t be casually asked about. Even if asked, the other party may not answer, and it could potentially create a barrier.
The matter of the Ghost Hunters can only be set aside for now.
They can fly in the sky, appear suddenly and disappear suddenly, so there’s no clue where to find them.
The problem now in front of Su Ziyu and his group is whether to accept Lady Anirella’s commission. Dealing with a High Vampire is extremely dangerous, but the reward she offers is irresistible.
Lady Inid is obviously very tempted, staring at Su Ziyu, she softly asks, "Do you have confidence?"
"We can also act together."
"I can gather some Elf Rangers, they are very elite warriors."
Su Ziyu had never dealt with a High Vampire before.
He had only heard about their abilities from Van Helsing, and even Van Helsing had never dealt with them. Back then, Van Helsing only killed a normal humanoid vampire. High Vampires are faster, stronger, some can turn invisible, have incredibly rapid healing abilities, are very hard to kill, and it is said they can also transform into mist, bats, or some even more terrifying creature.
Throughout history, very few Demon Hunters have dealt with High Vampires, because the odds are so low.
Upon hearing this, Su Ziyu couldn’t help but fall into deep thought.
He had seen a High Vampire’s actions. Anirella, the Queen of the Night, is a Moderate Faction High Vampire. Her moves can’t be caught with the naked eye at all; one moment she’s at the staircase, the next moment she’s right in front of Van Helsing.
The speed is terrifying!
Su Ziyu would probably only be able to keep up with their speed if he used Time Acceleration.
"This matter might need to be reconsidered," Su Ziyu pondered and said slowly, "However, it’s not completely without solutions. I just need some time to prepare."
"There seem to be some monsters in the sewers of the City of Freedom."
"They have some materials I need. If I could take them down, I might have the confidence to deal with that High Vampire."
The members of the Female Sorcerer Mutual Aid Association are relatively average in strength.
After all, this is not the era where warlocks can interfere with royal authority as royal advisors. Many in their ranks haven’t gone through systematic warlock training, and some have barely experienced combat. Among these female warlocks, the only one who can really fight is probably Lady Inid; the others at most could handle Witch Hunters, but it’s too weak against High Vampires.
If he really wants to accept this task, Su Ziyu needs more help.
Firstly, the Female Sorcerer Mutual Aid Association members need some combat training, ideally with some practical experience, especially in dealing with enemies that have incredible speed.
Secondly, Su Ziyu needs to further enhance his power.
He currently has 10 points of Source Power Value unused, but this is only enough to strengthen in one direction, either enhancing melee abilities or elevating Spiritual Ability Level. This alone is not enough to deal with a High Vampire; Su Ziyu needs more Source Power Value to improve himself.
Additionally, Van Helsing mentioned that someone would come to assist him in a while.
If it’s a seasoned Demon Hunter, especially one who’s dealt with vampires before, it would greatly help him.
The odds of success would noticeably increase.
As of now, Su Ziyu hopes to rely on Lady Inid’s strength to clear out the monsters in the City of Freedom’s sewers. There should be quite a few Source Power Value to be gained from them.
"Monsters in the sewers?" Lady Inid appeared puzzled, "What material do you need?"
"I can find a way to get it; you may not need to enter the sewer."
What he wanted wasn’t the materials from the monsters, but the Source Power Value they might drop.
Unfortunately, Su Ziyu couldn’t say this directly, so he could only tactfully say, "I need some fresh materials. More importantly, it’s also an opportunity for training. To be blunt, the members of the Female Sorcerer Mutual Aid Association lack combat experience."
"Facing a High Vampire directly would be extremely dangerous for them!"
Upon hearing this, Lady Inid also fell into thought, muttering, "Is that so? You want them to act together? That can be arranged."
"They do lack experience."
Don’t be deceived by the power of the spells these female warlocks can cast; in actual combat, they might not even be able to beat an average Demon Hunter.
Casters have always become stronger as they progress, but their spells don’t have auto-aim capability. No matter how powerful it is, it needs to hit the target. Su Ziyu had seen Lady Judy cast spells, and without using Time Acceleration, he had a 60% chance of dodging spells from a female warlock at close range. With Time Acceleration, she wouldn’t be able to hit him with a fireball at all.
Su Ziyu wasn’t sure about others’ spells.
But Lady Judy’s casting resembled archery--aim, cast, and fire. Once the fireball is out, it’s like an arrow, slower than a bullet, powerful, yet avoidable.
In comparison, her spell is much slower than Su Ziyu’s Spiritual Lightning.
Facing a High Vampire with this level of strength is extremely dangerous; perhaps even a slightly skilled Witch Hunter could take her down if they got close enough.
Especially against top-tier Demon Hunters, there’s an enormous disparity between their actual combat capabilities. But even the best Demon Hunters can have a slim chance of survival against High Vampires. In this task, the decisive factor for victory lies with Su Ziyu and Lady Inid.
No one knows how strong the Academic Warlocks from back then were, but they should have been much stronger than the warlocks now.
After experiencing so many worlds, Su Ziyu understood very well that actual combat is the most effective way to verify strength.
"Hmm," Lady Inid thought, "When the City of Freedom was first built, elves contributed a bit; I might manage to get a map of the sewers here."
Hearing this, Su Ziyu was quite pleased, "That would be best."
The city’s sewer system seems to be rather large; having a map would be much more convenient.
It’s about time for Su Ziyu to leverage the connections he’s built. He used to fight solo often, but this time he plans to lead a large group of female warlocks into the dungeon.
Say what you will, but the DPS will definitely be explosive!
