Chapter 19 Problems Within the Iron Gate

It doesn't make sense, this short five minutes.

Where could Zhu Hui have gone?

Luo Xiaole was a bit stunned at the moment.

She hadn't heard any sound behind her, it didn't seem like someone or a zombie had taken Zhu Hui away.

Did she leave on her own?

Luo Xiaole shook her head, Zhu Hui was so timid, she wouldn't dare act alone.

"Alright Mo Chen, did you feel too suffocated inside and want to come out for some fresh air? Let's go back to the passage and stay there, there are no zombies inside. It looks creepy out here." That punk with yellow hair was quite timid.

Mo Chen didn't speak, he glanced at Luo Xiaole.

"Should we go look for Zhu Hui?" Luo Xiaole asked worriedly.

"That's true, but we don't know where she went..." Luo Shu was also a bit distressed at the moment.

"Luo Shu, look at that grass over there." Luo Xiaole pointed outside, "Isn't that Zhu Hui?"

Not far from the supermarket's main entrance, a thin figure was behind a tree, holding something and acting suspiciously.

Luo Shu rubbed his eyes hard, "It's her! What did she run over there for?" He couldn't figure it out.

Luo Xiaole was a bit speechless, she took a couple of steps towards her, about to bring Zhu Hui back.

Then she saw that next to Zhu Hui, who knew when, there was a figure even taller than her.

Luo Xiaole was confused, when did Zhu Hui meet someone else and run off to chat?

She changed her angle and looked over, and upon seeing it, she almost had a heart attack.

Next to Zhu Hui was not a person at all, but a zombie with half its face ripped off!

The zombie's nose was also only half there, and at this moment, saliva dripped from its mouth as it stared menacingly at Zhu Hui, as if confirming if this was delicious food.

And Zhu Hui, at this moment, was contentedly and excitedly hugging a small bottle, rubbing it repeatedly, extremely happy.

She didn't feel the danger next to her at all.

She even raised the small bottle in her hand and sprayed it twice joyfully towards the side.

"Gurgle?" The smell rushed into the zombie's nostrils, and it suddenly confirmed that the person in front was a human.

This made it excited and it let out a "roar" and lunged at Zhu Hui.

Luo Xiaole and Luo Shu were both stunned.

Zhu Hui, although usually quiet, had never done anything this unreliable.

Even if Luo Xiaole wanted to save her, it was too late.

The horde of zombies at the supermarket's main entrance seemed to have suddenly smelled something, they all stopped, their faces showing excitement, and began to surge towards Zhu Hui's direction.

Zhu Hui suddenly looked up and saw the zombie next to her. She was instantly terrified, her heart pounding, and she let out a scream.

She looked up frantically for Luo Xiaole.

She ran towards the supermarket's side entrance, where Luo Xiaole and the others were hiding, her face drained of color.

As she ran, she cried out in terror, "Xiaole, save me!"

Luo Xiaole and Luo Shu frantically gestured for her to be quiet.

Don't attract more zombies!

But Zhu Hui suddenly saw them and felt like she had grasped a lifeline, thinking they were waving at her.

This made her even more excited.

"Xiaole, it's me! I'm here!"

The scent and the sound, working in tandem, agitated almost all the zombies in front of the supermarket, and they surged forward like a tide towards Zhu Hui.

The scale of it was growing.

"Holy crap, this woman!" The punk with yellow hair heard the commotion outside and immediately jumped out. Seeing Zhu Hui leading a zombie army towards them, he exploded.

"Does this woman have a brain? We told her not to come over, and she's going to get us all killed?" The punk with yellow hair was indignant.

Luo Xiaole couldn't take it anymore, she rushed forward and covered Zhu Hui's mouth!

"Do you want to attract all the zombies?"

"I... I'm sorry Xiaole, I was just too scared." Zhu Hui looked back, her legs turned to jelly, "What... what do we do now?" She was so anxious she was about to cry.

"Retreat!" Luo Xiaole didn't want to say another word this time, she turned and pulled Zhu Hui into the dark passage.

Mo Chen also gestured, signaling everyone to retreat.

The punk looked at Zhu Hui, hating her, but he had no time to scold her. He shouted into the passage.

"Quick, run further into the passage! A woman has led a bunch of zombies over here!"

Luo Xiaole then looked into the passage. There were more than a dozen people standing and sitting inside, presumably those who had acted with Mo Chen before.

Now they were all cursing, shouldering their bags again, and fleeing towards the deeper part of the passage.

Luo Xiaole didn't dare to stop for a moment, she ran frantically into the passage with them, she had to maintain a distance from the pursuing zombies!

If she triggered a stiffening state here, she would be done for!

As soon as she entered the passage, she heard the first zombie roaring and charging into the passage behind them.

"Riiiiip" A sound of a weapon being unsheathed was heard.

Luo Xiaole turned her head and looked through a gap.

Mo Chen hadn't run. He drew a familiar long saber and with a sharp twist of his wrist.

The blade turned in a different direction, and with a diagonal slash, it cleaved the zombie's head.

That was her enhanced weapon.

But even the right weapon needed to be in the right hands.

It was the first time Luo Xiaole had seen someone wield a sharp weapon so elegantly and effortlessly.

It was as if all living things under the blade were controlled by that person's wrist.

But in the face of numbers, skill was just an illusion.

Mo Chen's weapon took down one zombie at a time. Just as he finished off the two behind him, the other zombies mercilessly pounced.

"Mo Chen, retreat!" The punk with yellow hair saw Mo Chen still covering their retreat and yelled at him.

Mo Chen was instantly surrounded by zombies.

Luo Xiaole's heart leaped in fear.

But then, that tall, slender figure suddenly leaped out of the zombie horde, using the momentum of the nearby wall, he somersaulted out of the group of zombies that hadn't yet reacted.

He landed steadily in the open space ahead.

It was done in one fluid motion.

If it wasn't a time of escape, Luo Xiaole would have really wanted to stop and applaud his spectacular performance.

But even though it looked easy, Mo Chen himself didn't feel easy.

Even though he knew some martial arts, escaping a zombie horde was a very difficult task.

The leap just now had cost him considerable strength, he dared not linger and bolted forward with the main group.

After running for another two minutes.

The person running in front suddenly exclaimed with joy, "Quick! There's a passage here, with a big iron gate! Maybe it can stop those zombies!"

"This gate won't open! It's locked!" another desperate cry came.

Can't open it?

"I'll do it!" Everyone only heard Luo Xiaole's weak but firm voice from the crowd.

There was no time for doubt, everyone quickly made way for the source of the voice.

Luo Xiaole ran a few stumbling steps, quickly reaching the large lock on the iron gate.

[Enhancement Skill Activated: Blade of the World!]

In the moment when everyone was not paying attention, Luo Xiaole took out her small knife and used her newly enhanced skill for the first time.

Then she quickly sliced it across the large iron lock with the knife.

The iron chain actually broke like tofu, snapping in two with extreme smoothness.

No one saw how she did it.

Just as everyone thought she was going to pick the lock, the lock had already snapped into two pieces and fallen heavily to the ground...

"What are you standing around for, push!" Luo Xiaole urged them frantically as they stood stunned.

She couldn't push this door by herself!

Everyone snapped back to reality and pushed together with all their might, finally shoving the large iron gate open with a bang.

Instantly, everyone flooded into the iron gate as if fleeing for their lives.

Luo Shu and Mo Chen, who were covering the rear, squeezed in at the last moment.

"Come on, one, two, three, push! Close the door!"

Everyone worked together and finally, at the last second, slammed the door shut.

"Here, here, there's a lock here!" Someone else found another lock from the inside, and a few people fumbled and re-locked the large door from the inside.

"Bang!" The first zombie slammed into it at the same moment.

"Whew..." Everyone finally let out a sigh of relief.

Except for Luo Xiaole.

Because as soon as the others closed the door.

Luo Xiaole immediately stiffened.

Damn it, there was a problem inside this iron gate too!
