Chapter 33 Anomalies Under Rage

The young man gritted his teeth, staring intently at Li Xiaotian.

Unexpectedly, after hearing him, Li Xiaotian scoffed, turned around, and stepped on the young man's injured foot.

"Ah!" the young man cried out in pain.

"Who do you think you are? Just a nobody running errands. Is planning and managing everyone not a skill?"

"Did you just run a few errands for me, get a few cleavers, and take a fall, and now you're baring your teeth?" Li Xiaotian's every word struck the young man like a knife.

"And you still want food? Who do you think you are?"

The young man looked at the coldness in Li Xiaotian's eyes, and his anger flared up.

He never asked for anything in return, all for the sake of finding more supplies and weapons so that everyone in the gymnasium could have a slightly better life.

And yet he was called garbage not even worth a bite of food?

His fists clenched tightly, his heart filled with grief and indignation. He stared fixedly at Li Xiaotian, as if he could burn him alive with the fire in his eyes!

"Hahahahahaha hoho..." The young man suddenly let out a chilling laugh.

But the sound slowly changed its tone, "Ho..."

Producing a sound that made one's blood run cold.

Luo Xiaole suddenly paused, recalling their deductions at the convenience store...

When people become overly emotional...

"Get out of the way quickly!" Luo Xiaole instinctively shouted towards the line.

"Get out of the way? I'm not afraid of a weakling like him," Li Xiaotian continued his arrogant tirade.

Li Wen knew Luo Xiaole wouldn't speak without reason. Upon hearing the warning, he seemed to remember something and pulled Li Xiaotian back a large step!

But the young man was relentless.

Leaning on his arms, he crawled towards Li Xiaotian step by step.

Then, miraculously, he stood up.

As he gradually stood, Li Xiaotian and the others saw in the dim light.

The young man's pupils had turned a lifeless, grayish-white.

Then he gave a sinister smile.

He suddenly grabbed Li Xiaotian's arm, revealing fangs like a vampire, and lunged to bite!

"Ah!" Li Xiaotian was terrified.

He desperately grabbed a girl next to him who hadn't managed to escape and pulled her hard, sending her directly onto the reanimated corpse.

"Swish!"

The zombie tore a large chunk of flesh from the girl's neck!

"/

Luo Xiaole rolled up her sleeves and, without anyone noticing, took out her thumbtacks from her pocket.

She didn't want to help Li Xiaotian, but if these two zombies weren't dealt with, the entire gymnasium would be in danger!

She didn't want to be forced to freeze after finally reaching a safe place.

In a flash,

Luo Xiaole's four thumbtacks were already thrown!

"Ding ding ding ding!" With four crisp sounds.

All her thumbtacks landed on the ground, not a single one hitting its mark...

Under everyone's gaze, she felt a bit embarrassed.

Her accuracy with thumbtacks had always been a mystery. Previously, she had always managed to save her teammates.

There was only one reason: she threw enough of them.

And then one would always hit.

But her nails weren't infinite, and this wasn't a sustainable solution.

She sighed, wishing she could practice more and improve her thumbtack accuracy!

This was almost her only reliable weapon now.

"Uh, it's okay, Xiaole..." Luo Shu pretended not to notice, coughed twice, "If you miss, just... throw a few more. It's no big deal."

Someone snickered softly.

Who! Who's laughing at me!

Luo Xiaole had a vague feeling that it might be Mo Shen's voice.

But the next second she dismissed it!

No! That's absolutely impossible!

"Ah!" Several girls next to Li Xiaotian were about to be pounced on by the newly mutated zombies.

Luo Xiaole suddenly came to her senses, stomped her foot, took out a few more nails from her pocket, and prepared to throw.

But she didn't even get a chance to throw them.

With two "swish" sounds.

Luo Xiaole only saw the two mutated zombies lunging at the crowd in front of her suddenly get a blade to their heads.

They fell backward heavily onto the ground.

So accurate! So deadly! So steady!

Luo Xiaole turned around and glanced at Mo Shen.

She saw him stride forward with his long legs as if nothing had happened.

Looking at his expressionless face, Luo Xiaole became even more certain that he probably wasn't the one who had mocked her.

Mo Shen confirmed that both zombies were dead.

Only then did he calmly pull his two small knives from their heads.

"Wow..." The girls nearby, who had been on the verge of being attacked by the zombies.

Were suddenly rescued by this "hero" who arrived with two small knives.

Moreover, this hero was exceptionally outstanding in appearance and demeanor.

For a moment, several girls' adrenaline surged.

Their eyes were filled with anticipation, gratitude, and an indescribable emotion as they looked at Mo Shen.

"Uh... thank you... if it weren't for you, we..." Several girls crowded around, their eyes fixed on Mo Shen, filled with expectation.

Who would have thought that Mo Shen wouldn't even turn his eyeballs?

He merely tilted his head slightly and gave them a minuscule nod as a sign of politeness.

He then strode away with his long legs, leaving behind a cold back.

Li Xiaotian, who had just recovered from his shock, finally felt his soul return to his body upon seeing the two zombies dead.

He quietly spat behind them, "Showing off in front of girls, huh? Not giving me supplies, huh? You just wait."

...

"So, there are currently three possible reasons for reanimation."

Luo Xiaole, Mo Shen, and the others gathered to organize their thoughts based on this incident.

"One, reanimation without any warning, appearing out of thin air. The cause for this is currently unknown. Perhaps this is the first wave of infection." Everyone's expression was solemn; this method was impossible to prevent.

"Two, being bitten or scratched." Everyone understood this clearly and nodded.

"Three, this newly discovered reason: when a person's emotions reach extreme anger, they transform into a zombie." Everyone's heart felt heavy.

Luo Xiaole suddenly had a question, "I witnessed my sister and brother-in-law reanimate at first, but they didn't show any anger at the time."

Luo Shu also seemed unsure, "Did they have any other symptoms?"

Luo Xiaole recalled the past events carefully.

"They had a high fever!" she suddenly remembered, "My sister and brother-in-law both had a fever, and they asked me to get fever reducers!"

Everyone exchanged glances.

"Then the fourth possibility... currently, it's just a possibility... people with unexplained high fevers are also at risk of reanimation..."

Everyone's faces were solemn; it was evident they had experienced much and witnessed the despair of reanimation.

"Alright, let's stop discussing for today," Zhou Xiaojun tried to lighten the mood.

"Everyone should still prepare the night watch list. We now have only fifteen people left, including Luo Xiaole's team..." He paused, his mood heavy.

"We lost five companions today..."

"But we still have to keep going. After all, we want to stay alive and find our other family members, don't we?" Luo Shu added to Zhou Xiaojun's words.

The others were dejected, but they held onto a sliver of hope.

"Then we'll still form pairs, with each pair on watch for one hour until tomorrow morning."

...

At four in the morning, Luo Xiaole was woken up by the previous shift.

She rubbed her sleepy eyes.

She sat down next to everyone's backpacks filled with supplies.

There was another figure beside her, who tucked in his long legs and sat down.

Luo Xiaole turned her head and saw that she was on the same night watch shift as Mo Shen tonight?!
