Chapter 8 The Doll Suit Was Actually Strengthened

Someone went missing inexplicably? And in the middle of the night?

Luo Xiaole turned her head in surprise. Suddenly, her brow twitched. She had a nagging feeling that another crisis was imminent.

But she had no leads for now, so she could only pay more attention tonight.

Next, under the astonished gazes of the other three, Luo Xiaole rummaged in her pocket, looking mysterious. She pulled out something that looked like a miniature doll costume.

She shook it a couple of times, and the pink doll costume instantly grew larger. With a swish, she donned it, fitting perfectly.

The room felt a bit cramped with the sudden appearance of a giant "doll bear."

For the past three days, she had either been incessantly strengthening weapons or thinking about how to survive if she really encountered a zombie and froze.

After much deliberation, she figured that if she could strengthen her clothes all over and wear them, wouldn't she become a human weapon?

So, she dug out this all-encompassing doll bear from a corner of the storage room.

She gave it a 360-degree full body enhancement!

This way, when she acted alone, even if she encountered a zombie and froze, she could at least survive.

It was a pity that such a large-scale, all-around enhancement required an exorbitant amount of mall coins.

Luo Xiaole sighed softly.

She felt heartbroken for her lost fortune!

Luo Shu stared, dumbfounded, at the strawberry bear doll that looked exceptionally majestic and imposing.

After a few seconds, she suddenly understood. Luo Xiaole must have done something to enhance this doll.

Then, she clicked her tongue and clapped her hands, "Xiaole, I find you to be a genius at times..."

"Genius" Luo Xiaole touched her head, then looked at Luo Shu and the others, "Um, I might need to go out."

Luo Shu's applause paused mid-air, her expression frozen. "Xiaole, allow me to kindly remind you, have you forgotten that you still have that freezing issue..."

The large strawberry bear head of Luo Xiaole drooped, looking down at her "sturdy" body. She said with some helplessness, "There's no other way. I have to go out and try... I just received a batch of newly enhanced weapons and need to deliver them."

Deliver them? The other three exchanged glances. They had had many questions about Luo Xiaole before.

For instance, where did such powerful weapons come from, and what had she been doing for the past three days?

However, they hadn't had the opportunity for in-depth discussions yet, and it wasn't a good time to ask. They looked at each other awkwardly.

Luo Shu muttered to herself, "I said I would protect the little bamboo pole, and I will. Besides, even though the little bamboo pole has many secrets, she doesn't seem to want to harm us.

Who cares where her weapons come from? With such powerful weapons, she might become a big shot in the future. Following her is definitely the right choice."

Luo Xiaole was unaware that the clever, chubby Luo Shu had already finished her calculations in her mind.

She only saw Luo Shu beaming again in less than two seconds, "Xiaole, I'll go out with you! I'll protect you!"

She even felt a pang of emotion.

Truly a good Chinese teammate!

Zhu Hui and Wang Hao's gazes were somewhat evasive. They wouldn't venture out unless it was a matter of utmost importance.

Outside were flesh-eating, bloodthirsty zombies!

Luo Xiaole's eyes darted around. She naturally saw through their little thoughts and didn't want to force them out.

So, she properly adjusted her doll suit, took a deep breath with Luo Shu, and then nervously stepped out the door.

Unexpectedly, there was a pus-covered zombie right at the entrance!

As expected, Luo Xiaole immediately experienced a stiffening reaction!

She froze in place.

She lamented inwardly, why did she encounter this the moment she stepped out!

To her surprise, Luo Shu, holding Luo Xiaole's weapon, swung it backwards!

Neither the zombie nor Luo Xiaole had time to react.

The next second, the zombie's head fell, and black blood sprayed across the corridor!

Luo Shu finally exhaled.

Luo Xiaole was deeply gratified. While she was enhancing her gear, her teammate had been silently practicing dismembering zombies!

What an upward-striving comrade!

After Luo Shu dealt with another zombie in the corridor, she looked at Luo Xiaole, who was still motionless. She could only scratch her head and wait for Luo Xiaole to recover.

It took a full five minutes...

Finally able to move, Luo Xiaole sheepishly scratched her head. "Sorry, I need you to hold on for about five minutes every time, hehe."

Luo Shu nodded in surprise.

She could even time it so precisely.

What kind of illness was this!

The two of them once again reached the sixth floor without incident, which was where Luo Xiaole needed to make her weapon trade.

The air was eerily quiet all the way, as if no sound could be heard. All the zombies seemed to have vanished.

Luo Xiaole's heart pounded.

Her intuition told her that danger was quietly waiting for her somewhere...

Luo Shu, still shaken by Luo Xiaole's earlier episode, was now on high alert, clearing the path ahead. She hadn't seen a single zombie.

Luo Xiaole, walking behind, suddenly heard a few chilling breaths from behind her, muffled by the doll suit.

The breathing grew closer, carrying a foul odor that did not belong to humans.

It's over!

Just as Luo Xiaole was about to cry out, she found herself suddenly freezing again!

The presence behind her was definitely a zombie!

And it was a zombie that knew how to camouflage itself, one that didn't make a sound!

But her whole body felt as if it were tightly bound by something, she couldn't even blink, let alone make a sound.

At this moment, all she could do was watch helplessly as Luo Shu walked further and further away ahead of her...

A startled cry rang out from the front left.

Luo Xiaole couldn't blink. The blood in her body seemed to rush backward with the sound of breathing behind her, her heart tightening.

At this moment, she could only strain her peripheral vision to glimpse the direction of the sound ahead.

A voice from a clear, white shirt appeared vaguely in her peripheral vision, like a clear spring flowing into Luo Xiaole's sight.

Was that Mo Chen, the cold, handsome guy?

And beside him, a strong-looking guy, judging by his clothes, it looked like his companion from last time?

Heavens, Mo Chen, look this way! Look over here! Luo Shu, turn around!

Luo Xiaole's mind was devoid of other emotions. Even though she was wearing her enhanced outfit, even though she was trapped in place, smelling the terrifying, invisible stench rapidly approaching from behind.

Anyone would inevitably feel fear and panic; this was a desperate survival instinct.

Luo Shu, ahead, seemed to finally realize something. She turned around and saw a dark, greenish claw, not of this world, suddenly appear behind the frozen Luo Xiaole.

She let out a startled cry of terror.

"Wow, Xiaole, there's a giant chicken claw behind you!" Luo Shu exclaimed in panic, trying to rush back to Luo Xiaole.

But no one could possibly move fast enough to save her.

At the same time, Luo Xiaole felt the zombie's bite land on her.

Even though she was wearing the strawberry bear doll suit, the feeling of the zombie's sharp teeth came through the fabric.

Luo Xiaole's heart sank into despair.

It's over... Is this method useless after all...

But who would have thought that the next second, the sensation of sharp teeth piercing flesh and blood didn't come...

"Aowoo!"

Instead, a curses-like roar came from the zombie behind her.

Then, Luo Xiaole only saw the shock in Luo Shu's eyes, and she froze in place.

Her peripheral vision caught sight of Mo Chen and his companion approaching and they too froze.

The zombie behind her suddenly became like a boneless Lin Daiyu, crashing directly onto her.

"Clang."

She, a sickly little bamboo pole, couldn't withstand such weight.

She was sent tumbling forward, her vision reduced to the cold ground.

She heard Luo Shu's approaching footsteps brake suddenly, and then it seemed like she had stopped Mo Chen and the others as well.

The breath she had been holding finally released.

Her entire body was essentially a weapon now. If they touched her, they would be torn to shreds.

About five minutes later, she felt her limbs regain their freedom.

She then struggled a couple of times, pulled off a sleeve of the doll costume, and was clumsily helped up by Luo Shu and the others.

Turning her head, she saw that the zombie that had been biting her was now chopped into pieces by the strawberry bear!

Stiff chunks of flesh broke into countless small pieces, splattering onto the ground.

Luo Xiaole heard the collective gulping sounds of shock from the others.

She moved her arm, only to hear a "ripping" sound.

She turned to look and saw that the fabric where the zombie had bitten her had also torn open with a large seam.

She couldn't help but feel a chill of fear.

It seemed that this method, while beneficial in resisting the initial zombie attack and buying her survival time after freezing, was ultimately flawed.

But because the fabric itself was too fragile and easily damaged, her life was still threatened at any moment.

She felt a little sad. She probably couldn't afford to reinforce her clothes so often in the future. Not only was the usage limited, but it was also very risky, and the reinforcement was expensive...

This strawberry bear would likely only be used in emergencies when she was acting alone.

"Sorry, my younger sister here gets scared and can't move when she's frightened. She needs a moment to recover," Luo Shu greeted the two beside them.

He could tell that these two had wanted to save her just now and likely had no ill intentions.

"Is that your sister inside?" the blond guy next to Mo Chen asked, his face full of surprise.
