Chapter 1311: Chapter 456: Perseverance
Lady Houtu remained unmoved, merely staring coldly at Haotian God.
Even if Haotian God would kill her, she was still fearless.
"Are you not afraid I’ll kill you?" Haotian God asked coldly.
Lady Houtu said indifferently, "I’m not afraid, go ahead and kill me."
Her demeanor showed that she didn’t care about life or death, leaving even Haotian God a bit helpless.
Others feared death, which allowed him to use it as a threat.
If someone coveted power, he could use that to tempt them.
But if someone feared nothing and cared not for power, what could he do?
Even Haotian God couldn’t help but lament with frustration.
Taking a deep breath, Haotian God spoke coldly: "Ignorant of life and death, acting this way will only lead you to ruin. You betrayed your husband to follow another. Houtu, are you insane?"
The Jade Emperor’s incarnation was always under his control; to Haotian, there was no difference between the Jade Emperor and himself.
This was unlike the incarnation of Tian Hao; it was a different matter altogether.
Therefore, he also acknowledged Lady Houtu’s identity.
If it were otherwise, Haotian wouldn’t be so agreeable and would act directly.
Yet, Lady Houtu gave him no face, and even slapped him.
This enraged Haotian God; if not for their past affections, he might have directly killed Lady Houtu because she showed him so little respect.
"I’ve said, my husband is dead; he was the Jade Emperor. You are Haotian, not the same person. Haotian, abandon your thoughts; if you want to fight, I’ll accompany you to the end." Lady Houtu stared at Haotian God, very strong-willed.
She completely ignored Haotian God’s words, insisting that the Jade Emperor was dead, refusing to acknowledge they were one and the same.
This left Haotian God somewhat helpless, gritting his teeth in anger.
At this moment, Ying Hook sensed the commotion and rushed over.
"Who is causing trouble in Lady Houtu’s palace? Are they ignoring me, Ying Hook?"
Ying Hook’s voice rang out, brimming with strong displeasure.
Having become a Supreme, with formidable strength, ordinary Supremes didn’t worry him.
In his view, whoever caused trouble was likely some blind Supreme.
Upon seeing Haotian God instantly, his expression darkened.
Ying Hook almost had the urge to turn and leave, his expression slightly stiff as he laughed dryly, "So it’s Haotian God’s descent, welcome. I wonder what enlightening guidance you’ve come to give at my Netherworld."
Haotian God glanced at him, ignoring Ying Hook, and instead pointed at him while speaking to Lady Houtu: "Didn’t you see? He fears me now, the dignified Great Demon God Ying Hook, ancestor of zombies, and Lord of the Netherworld. Though his power matches yours, he still fears me. Aren’t you afraid of me at all?"
Lady Houtu chuckled lightly, seemingly indifferent.
"Fear of death doesn’t exist, so why fear anything?"
Haotian God was silent, having no answer.
Because Lady Houtu’s words were true—someone who doesn’t fear death, what can you expect them to fear?
For a living being, the greatest threat is to kill them, ending their life.
But regarding this point, Lady Houtu was indifferent, not caring at all.
Haotian God took a deep breath, snorted coldly, then suddenly struck at Ying Hook.
Though Ying Hook was already prepared, he reacted instantly, turning to flee.
Yet, he was still hit by Haotian God’s punch, which pierced his chest directly.
Ying Hook rolled in the void, flying far away.
His body almost exploded, a terrifying force inside him trying to obliterate him.
Ying Hook roared in fury, fiercely consuming the Netherworld’s power to heal and eliminate that force.
Soon, that force was eradicated.
Ying Hook deeply exhaled, his face pale.
His eyes fell on Haotian God, filled with endless rage.
Originally unruly, having been severely injured by Haotian God, he couldn’t hold his anger, wishing to attack and fight Haotian God.
However, Haotian God didn’t even glance at him, turning his gaze on Houtu instead.
"Did you see? This is your husband, overwhelmingly strong. The so-called Supreme couldn’t withstand even one move from your husband. Why do you refuse to acknowledge me?" Haotian God said.
Lady Houtu’s expression turned icy as she attacked directly.
However, Haotian God shattered her assault with one hand, and with the other, he grabbed Lady Houtu’s neck.
Lady Houtu’s face flushed, yet she didn’t struggle.
She silently looked at Haotian God, awaiting death’s arrival.
"If you call me husband, I’ll let you go," Haotian God stated.
Yet, Lady Houtu completely ignored him, as if she hadn’t heard.
They remained at an impasse, while Haotian God’s expression fluctuated, occasionally leaking killing intent, making it clear he considered killing Lady Houtu.
The guards were all very worried.
They wanted to rush in but knew they were no match for Haotian God. Acting recklessly could anger him, not only failing to save Lady Houtu but possibly causing their own deaths.
Thinking of this, they dared not act rashly.
"Ha-ha."
Haotian God suddenly laughed.
He released Lady Houtu’s neck, then said coldly, "Since you believe I’m wrong and they’re right, I’ll kill all those you consider right. There’s an old saying, ’Evil never defeats good,’ whoever emerges victorious is justice."
After speaking, Haotian God sneered and turned to leave.
No one dared to stop Haotian God; they all hoped he would depart quickly.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as Haotian God’s figure vanished from their sight.
Some immortals even plopped down on the ground.
Haotian God felt terrifying; truly deserving of being the Three Realms’ supreme Heavenly Emperor, with undeniable dominance, coupled with astounding strength.
"Lady, are you alright?" Ying Hook returned, asking with concern.
His face was somewhat pale, having been severely injured earlier, even harming his origin.
He too possessed an Immortal Body; a zombie body is nearly immortal, especially as he was the ancestor of zombies.
But before such a powerful figure as Haotian God, the so-called Immortal Body was laughable.
Without sufficient strength, so-called immortality is merely relative. If one’s power far exceeds, they can crush the so-called Immortal Body.
Houtu shook her head, quite calm, apologetically saying, "I’m fine, but I’ve implicated Ying Hook, causing you to be wounded. I beg your forgiveness, friend."
