Chapter 165 Entering the Ruins

"Strange, the entrance was clearly here. Why won't it open?"

The defiant Erha lowered its dog head and gnawed at the ground in a frenzy.

However, it was utterly useless...

Let alone digging through the ground, even the weeds remained untouched.

Erha blinked its dog eyes, clearly not understanding.

"Brother Ha, it seems this entrance is blocked by this formation," the leader of the five-person team said. "Unless we destroy the formation, we won't be able to get in."

"Formation?" Erha was clearly taken aback.

After all, this was beyond its understanding.

"Brother Ha, we don't understand it either," the three spirit pets replied, shaking their heads helplessly as Erha looked at them.

"Brother Ha, actually, as long as the formation's eye is destroyed, the formation will disappear," the leader continued to explain. "As long as we can find the formation's eye and destroy it, we can get in."

"Are there any characteristics to this formation's eye you mentioned?" Erha asked, flicking its tongue.

"Generally speaking, the formation's eye is usually something imbued with spiritual energy. But most of them are well disguised, making it difficult to detect their spiritual energy fluctuations."

With that, the leader glanced at the little fox:

"The rest is up to Sister Nine."

Having followed them for so long, they were well aware of the little fox's sensitivity to spiritual energy.

Simply put, Brother Ha could sense things from afar, but if the spiritual energy fluctuations were concealed, it would be difficult for him to find them.

Sister Nine, though her sensing range was not as far as Brother Ha's, could pinpoint the location precisely.

And no matter how suppressed the spiritual energy fluctuations were, Sister Nine could still find them!

They were a perfect combination!

"Delicious food?" The little fox muttered, looking in one direction, "I think I've found it."

In fact, it had sensed it before they started carrying the coffin, but it hadn't said anything then.

After all, Brother Ha needed to save someone, and it didn't want to cause trouble.

"Little Fox Sister, it's up to you!" Erha nodded its dog head.

The little fox, swallowing its saliva, walked towards a piece of rock.

The five-person team and the three spirit pets immediately showed signs of respect!

As expected of Sister Nine!

To them, this was just an ordinary rock, with no spiritual energy fluctuations whatsoever.

Yet Sister Nine found it so easily!

Upon reaching the rock, the little fox eagerly took a bite.

But it was unsuccessful.

Instead, it chipped a tooth.

The little fox shook its head and licked the rock with its tongue.

There were no holy light effects, nor did it make any sound.

It looked as if it had simply licked it.

But as it turned out, this lick was far from simple.

Because when the little fox bit down again, it easily bit off a large chunk of the rock.

"Mmm... so delicious..." The little fox closed its eyes happily, a look of enjoyment on its face.

And from the broken surface of the rock, an incredibly strong spiritual energy fluctuation emanated!

"Brother Ha, this is really delicious!" The little fox turned its head. "Come eat together."

"No need, I'm not hungry," Erha said gently. "You eat."

"You all come too," the little fox didn't insist, gesturing to the five-person team and the three spirit pets.

The three spirit pets immediately drooled!

This was a great tonic for them, and of course, they wanted to eat it.

The problem was, there was only one piece, and they didn't dare to take any.

Didn't they see Brother Ha looking at them with displeasure...

"Sister Nine, please enjoy at your own pace," the three spirit pets quickly replied. "We're not hungry..."

They even secretly sucked back the drool from the corners of their mouths...

"Sister Nine, please enjoy at your own pace. We're not hungry," the five-person team replied with a smile.

They were, after all, just humans, and rocks were not on their menu.

Even though this was a rock imbued with astonishing spiritual energy.

Besides, when the little fox licked it earlier, it had gotten a lot of saliva on the rock, and some of it had even dripped onto the ground...

Even if they could eat rocks, they wouldn't be able to stomach it now...

The little fox was too hungry and didn't stand on ceremony any further, happily gnawing away.

Before it had finished the rock, the formation on the ground dissipated...

An entrance suddenly appeared before them.

"Oh, the entrance is here," the little fox said happily. "Brother Ha, let's go."

"It's alright, we'll go after you finish eating," Erha said gently.

"No, no," the little fox jumped back onto the coffin with the rock in its mouth. "I can eat while we walk."

"Good!" Erha flashed back onto the coffin, wagging its dog legs. "Little ones, move out!"

The five-person team quickly lifted the coffin and walked through the entrance.

The three spirit beasts dared not delay and followed closely.

While Erha wasn't paying attention, they quietly used their spiritual energy to scoop the scattered rock fragments into their mouths...

A stone staircase extended downwards from the entrance.

All the humans and beasts could only see pitch blackness, with no end in sight.

The little fox seemed a little scared, pressing itself close to Erha, lowering its head to eat and not daring to look around.

The three spirit beasts cautiously matched the little fox's pace, chewing on the rock fragments in their mouths...

An hour later.

Erha was listlessly lying on the coffin lid, dozing off...

Suddenly, a faint glow caught its eye.

"Charge, charge, charge!" Seeing the exit appear, Erha instantly perked up.

The five-person team dared not delay and sprinted.

As they got closer, the faint glow gradually transformed into a door of light.

After passing through the door of light, the ruins of an ancient sect appeared before their eyes.

The five-person team felt a sense of awe.

Both the architectural style and the layout of the place clearly carried the aura of history, indicating that it was something very ancient.

The town-guarding stones at the mountain gate were severely damaged, making it impossible to discern the sect's name.

Erha waved its dog legs, and the five-person team cautiously walked into the sect.

In the main hall at the deepest part of the sect.

Several demonic beasts lazily watched the crystal screen in front of them, which displayed the scene of Erha's army.

"Another group of foolish beings has arrived," a leopard demon yawned lazily. "Which wave is this?"

"The third or the fourth?" the giant python beside it flicked its tongue. "Who cares? Anyway, at their level, they won't even pass the first hurdle."

"The group that came a while ago was barely enough to give the little ones a snack," a burly man with a human body and a bull's head grumbled. "Too bad they were too cunning and ran too fast."

"Don't worry, big brother. Human nature is greedy. Those people will definitely come back," the leopard demon chuckled. "But this combination that came this time is quite strange. They even brought a coffin in."

"What is that thing on the coffin?" the giant python shook its head. "Is it a dog or a wolf?"

"If you're interested, you can catch it later and play with it slowly," the bull-headed man waved his hand dismissively. "You guys keep watching. Big brother is going to cultivate a bit more."
