Jin Sha looked at Bai Ye's confused expression and couldn't help but ask, "You don't know Regiess, the Ice God Pillar?"
Bai Ye shook his head. "No."
Jin Sha saw that Bai Ye genuinely looked perplexed and didn't seem to be lying. She asked, "Then why are you here?"
"I accidentally entered the restricted area and ended up here. There's no other reason," Bai Ye blurted out, not intending to mention the aliens and Predators. He then asked, "That Regi what's-his-name?"
Jin Sha replied, "Regiess."
"Oh, right. Bai Ye said, "What exactly is Regiess?"
"A beast tamer!" Jin Sha didn't hide anything. So many people were here for Regiess, so it didn't matter if one more person knew. She stated directly, "Not just any beast tamer, but a legendary one."
"Regiess's image comes from Hebrew legends, a golem serving the powerful in the world. His body is made of ice from the Ice Age, and he can control cold air at minus two hundred degrees Celsius."
"In legend, Regiess has been sleeping deep in the glaciers for ages. About six days ago, someone spotted Regiess in this glacier, which led to the rumor that Regiess had awakened from the ice. Those who heard the news, especially people from the beast taming world, became excited and all flocked to the glacier."
Bai Ye chuckled. "Trying to tame Regiess, right?"
Jin Sha also laughed. "Isn't that obvious?"
Beast taming, Bai Ye wasn't very familiar with it.
However, if Regiess was as legendary as Jin Sha described, even if not a gold-quality beast tamer, he would at least be a red-quality one.
Given the current state of the world battlefield and everyone's strength levels, this seemed like a pipe dream to Bai Ye. Forget about taming him; they should first consider whether they would be killed.
But…
Bai Ye looked at Jin Sha and said, "But I feel, from your tone, that not everyone is here for Regiess?"
Jin Sha replied, "Regiess happens to be a beast tamer that exists in my world, so I'm very aware of how powerful Regiess is. As one of the three legendary ice-element beast tamers, how could Regiess be easily tamed by anyone? However, there is still hope, after all, taming a beast tamer doesn't necessarily rely on strength…"
"Then what?" Bai Ye couldn't help but interject. "Love and justice?"
Jin Sha rolled her eyes and then said, "Catering to its preferences, personality compatibility, or even, some beast tamers might fall in love with you at first sight. That's what they call fate. And long-term companionship. Beast tamers are like people; once mutual feelings develop, they can be tamed without force."
Bai Ye smiled. "I don't know much about beast taming, but I know the probabilities of the former are very small, and the smarter the beast tamer, the smaller the probability. If Regiess is truly a legendary beast tamer, it's even less likely. As for long-term companionship, although special cases exist, how can you have a long-term relationship with someone you haven't tamed?"
Jin Sha nodded. "Yes, that's why I don't expect to tame Regiess."
Bai Ye asked, "Then what's your reason for being here? Are you just passing by like me?"
"Of course not!" Jin Sha exclaimed. "Although I have no aspirations for Regiess, don't forget that Regiess is a beast tamer that exists in my world. I understand some of its habits. When legendary beast tamers like this appear, they will definitely attract other beast tamers, and among them are powerful or rare ones."
Bai Ye showed a look of realization. "So, your goal is actually those beast tamers who appeared in the glacier because of Regiess?"
Jin Sha snapped her fingers. "Correct."
Bai Ye nodded, then looked at his cup and smiled. "Thank you for the cocoa."
"You're welcome," Jin Sha replied. "It's all just stuff from the monitoring station. I just did you a favor. By the way…"
Jin Sha paused mid-sentence, looking Bai Ye up and down, becoming more convinced that Bai Ye had arrived by accident rather than for Regiess. After all, Bai Ye was dressed rather thinly, without a down jacket or padded coat, which was not suitable attire for entering a glacier.
Jin Sha pointed to a door on the side. "You're likely to get into trouble dressed like that. There are some padded coats hanging there; you can go and get one to wear."
"Okay!" Bai Ye said. "Thank you."
After nodding his thanks, Bai Ye walked towards the room Jin Sha had indicated, his mind racing.
Bai Ye's first thought was that he had entered the wrong area.
While it was a glacier, it wasn't the glacier he was supposed to be heading to.
After all, Bai Ye had actually been to this area in his previous life…
However, he had never heard of the legendary Ice Pillar God Regiess.
But after some thought, Bai Ye felt there must have been some mishap, and this should be the technological area he was looking for.
The reason was simple: on the outer wall of this monitoring station, there was a logo, a large golden circle with the English letters "jw" inside. This logo was the insignia of the conglomerate owned by the great tycoon, Wiland. J and W were actually the initials of Wiland's full name.
Therefore, he concluded that this monitoring station was built by Wiland.
If this was correct, it meant that this glacier was indeed an area explored by Wiland's scientific expedition team, and the pyramid-shaped ancient human ruins were located beneath the glacier. He hadn't come to the wrong place at all.
So, what about the Ice Pillar God?
How did Regiess suddenly appear?
Bai Ye mused as he opened the door and entered the room.
It was a storeroom for daily necessities. Padded jackets were hanging in a large wardrobe on the side. Bai Ye casually took one that fit his build and put it on, immediately feeling much warmer.
In fact, with Bai Ye's current physical attributes, he could have endured the icy weather in just a T-shirt. But why suffer when he could be warmer?
As Bai Ye put on the jacket, he suddenly paused, looking at a shelf on the side.
On the shelf were two photo frames containing a man and a woman, presumably a couple and both members of the expedition team.
In another larger photo frame was a group photo of about twenty people, all key members of the expedition team. Bai Ye found a blonde man over fifty years old in the center. Based on his memory, Bai Ye was certain this man was Wiland.
Thus, he could completely confirm that he had not entered the wrong area.
"Ah!"
Just as Bai Ye was deep in thought…
A scream suddenly rang out.
