Chapter 163 The Skyrocketing Synchronization Rate

Xia Huanao still had a small problem he couldn't quite figure out. Why could a lowest-level Pokémon withstand a full-power Origin Supernova Big Bang and merely lose its battle readiness, only to recover with some healing, while it turned him into a cripple after just one hit?

The system's explanation was simple: it was due to the difference between the Pokémon and trainer biological systems. Human physiology and genetic makeup dictated that humans couldn't be as outrageous as Pokémon. Moreover, because humans could use tools, the rules of Lylia Star included this: attacks from Pokémon to humans were "super effective."

Xia Huanao, faced with an answer completely beyond his knowledge base, nodded and let the matter rest. Now, he had to deal with another problem: how should he, a cripple whose only active part was from the neck up, survive? Was he to starve to death here?

Xia Huanao's brain whirred, and he came up with a plan: "Mew, can you call everyone out of the Poké Balls for me?"

Mew accurately touched the three Poké Balls at Xia Huanao's waist with its psychic power and released Gengar and the others. Gengar and the others were shocked to see Xia Huanao's condition and immediately rushed over, babbling questions about what had happened. Although Xia Huanao couldn't understand a single word, it didn't stop him from grasping their meaning: "Alright, I'm fine. I'll just have to trouble you all to take care of me for a while."

Seeing his Pokémon's concern, Xia Huanao suddenly realized that he absolutely had to inform his girlfriend and the others about his situation. But when Xia Huanao asked Gengar to retrieve his phone from his pocket, he discovered it was missing. It seemed to have been reduced to dust by that Origin Supernova Big Bang...

Now, this was a real problem. Classmate Xia Huanao had become a missing person, likely unable to contact anyone for a considerable time. Originally, Xia Huanao wanted to beg Mew to deliver a letter home or something, but the thought of angering Mew by messing with its tail deterred him from asking.

Fortunately, the adorable and considerate Mew said, "You'll be fine in no time, don't worry too much."

And so, Xia Huanao began his convalescence, residing in Mew's space.

Although it was a convalescence, Xia Huanao didn't receive the treatment of an injured person. He only enjoyed Mew's lap pillow, transformed into a cute floral-patterned young lady, for less than an hour before it was replaced by wooden pillows made by Gengar and the others.

The comfort of a wooden pillow was in a completely different league from the comfort of a girl's lap pillow, but what could Xia Huanao do? Shamelessly enjoy Mew's lap pillow? Mew might be willing, but Mewtwo wouldn't be.

Lying on the wooden pillow, Xia Huanao's first meal was simply berry juice. There was no other option; only berry juice could be found in this space, and his condition prevented him from eating anything else.

After somehow managing to drink the berry juice handed to him by Diancie, Xia Huanao smiled and said to Diancie, "Diancie, you're so good."

Diancie nudged its head under Xia Huanao's hand, enjoying his head pats in this manner.

After eating, Xia Huanao lay there alone. Gengar had been called away by Mewtwo for some unknown reason. Shedinja was officially suspected by Xia Huanao of having the bloodline of Slaking, as it had fallen asleep while floating in the air. Diancie had gone out to find berries. As for Mew, the mischievous and restless creature was off playing somewhere else again.

Looking at the pink sky, Xia Huanao suddenly missed his Rotom Pokédex: "System, if the Rotom Pokédex were here with me now, would it be more lively?"

The system simulated a scene with the Rotom Pokédex present, and Xia Huanao immediately abandoned the idea: "Never mind. It's finally quiet; no need to make myself uncomfortable."

Having said that, Xia Huanao began to pester the system again: "System, you're the only one I can rely on now. When will I get better?"

The system displayed a human skeletal diagram: "How to put it? Look at this."

The skeletal diagram only had simple red and blue colors, with only Xia Huanao's head colored blue.

"You should know your current physical condition; only your head, meaning your skull, is normal. The rest of your bones are almost all broken. Although they are slowly recovering due to the effects of this space, Mew is not a dedicated healer after all. I estimate it will take about three more months to fully recover and be able to run and jump."

Xia Huanao asked after hearing this: "Three months? Does it really take that long? Wait, System, you're not just pulling the 'one hundred days for bones to heal' cliché, are you? That's too ridiculous."

The system chuckled awkwardly: "Well, I'm not a system for humans. If you ask me how long it takes for a severely injured Pokémon to recover, I can give you precise data, even to the second. But you're a person, and I don't have much research on human anatomy."

"Never mind, I'll sleep for a while. Wake me up when one of the Pokémon returns."

"Host, I have a few pieces of good news. Would you like to hear them?"

The system's words abruptly ended Xia Huanao's plan to sleep: "Good news? I'm in this state, and there's good news?"

"Ah, one is that your synchronization rate with Gengar and Diancie has greatly increased."

Upon hearing this, Xia Huanao became excited, and all his fractured bones seemed to get excited along with him, causing him pain...

Seeing Xia Huanao on the verge of death, the system sighed: "Are you trying to die? Why are you getting so excited? Do you have any reason to be excited right now?"

After enduring the pain for a long time, the severe pain slowly subsided: "Sy-System, why has the synchronization rate increased so much?"

The system looked at Xia Huanao, who was covered in sweat: "Take it easy. What if you die again? Let me explain. Synchronization rate, normally, accumulates slowly, bit by bit. But didn't you almost die before? A lot of synchronization rate erupted instantly. Diancie's synchronization rate has approached five hundred, and Gengar's has already exceeded six hundred, heading towards a thousand."

Xia Huanao's excitement flared up again upon hearing this. Fortunately, the system stopped him: "Stop, stop, stop. Don't get excited. It's bad for your recovery."

Xia Huanao calmed down and asked: "With a synchronization rate of six hundred, can we prepare for a bond evolution?"

The system shook its head: "You wish. It won't be possible to achieve bond evolution until the synchronization rate is maxed out. Even when the first stage of synchronization rate is maxed out, it only unlocks bond evolution. The condition for evolution is defeating an opponent, and it can only evolve into the chaotic state of Water-type Body."

"What? It can only evolve to that?"

"As your second synchronization rate increases dramatically, the conditions for bond evolution will become simpler, and the completeness of the evolution will become higher. Just keep accumulating it slowly."

Hearing this, Xia Huanao sighed: "Then we'll talk about it later. I can't possibly let Mewtwo and Mew kill me again for the synchronization rate."

"I think your idea is actually quite good..."

"You..."

"There are other methods. During the battle with Mewtwo before, your synchronization rate with them also rose rapidly. You might be able to battle them a few more times in the future."

"Battling Mewtwo and Mew? Challenging level one hundred? Don't joke..."

While they were bickering, Diancie returned. Seeing Diancie's exhausted appearance, Xia Huanao felt concerned: "Little Princess, what were you doing? Didn't you say you were going to find berries?"

The little princess held up a blood-red diamond in her hands and placed it on Xia Huanao's chest.

"Diancie, what is this?"

"This is a Life Diamond Diancie condensed for you. By emitting a large amount of life force, it can speed up your recovery."

Xia Huanao tilted his head and looked at Diancie: "Diancie, please place this diamond on my arm. If I recover quickly, I can pat your head."

Diancie nodded, placed the Life Diamond on Xia Huanao's elbow, and once again nudged its head under Xia Huanao's hand.

Just as the person and Pokémon were radiating a pink aura akin to a romantic encounter, Mewtwo returned with Gengar. Seeing Gengar covered in injuries, Xia Huanao was stunned: "Gengar, what happened?"

Xia Huanao then looked at Mewtwo, who was evolving into Mega Mewtwo Y, apparently having taken Gengar for special training.

Xia Huanao asked the system: "System, Gengar went for special training, right?"

"Yes. Its level has risen again; it's close to evolving into Greninja."

Xia Huanao thanked Mewtwo: "Sister Mew, thank you."

Mewtwo, with a rare blush, turned its head away and didn't respond to Xia Huanao.

"Sister Mew can be this cute too. It's too adorable, I can't handle it."

The system looked at Xia Huanao with disdain: "Host, try saying that out loud instead of in your mind, and see if your Sister Mew doesn't beat you to death."

As they were speaking, a wormhole suddenly appeared in the sky, and Mew's pink silhouette floated in. In Mew's small hand, it held several items radiating immense energy.

Mew arrived beside Xia Huanao and placed all these items on him: "You need to recover well and get better soon."

Although Xia Huanao couldn't see what these items were, he could ask: "Miss Mew, what are these things?"

"This feather is from Ho-Oh. This is from Xerneas. And this jar is from Diancie. You must get better soon."

Looking at the various items radiating life energy on himself, Xia Huanao comforted Mew: "Thank you for your concern. I will get better soon."

Watching Xia Huanao slowly absorb the life energy, Mew made up its mind and floated to Xia Huanao's hand, extending its tail: "Let you touch my tail. Consider it my apology, okay?"
