San Tian Liang Jue

Chapter 672 Wilderness Poisoning

Chapter 1 After the Gunfire

Amidst a chaotic burst of gunfire, Feng Bujue scrambled and rolled into the undergrowth.

He was lucky. In the five seconds just past, over thirty bullets had been fired in his direction, yet not a single one had even grazed him.

"Haa... Haa..." The mad dash of those few seconds left Feng Bujue gasping for breath. After all, he was using the body of a forty-year-old man, and his explosive power was far inferior to that of a younger man. "Hoo... Something's not right here..." As he caught his breath, he mused, "Spraying me with two submachine guns like that, they clearly weren't planning on taking me alive... Such blatant attempted murder, who else would do such a thing but me?" With that thought, he quickly turned, hiding behind a tree as he peered out.

Soon, the answer presented itself.

He saw... two men dressed in striped sailor shirts and capri pants, heads wrapped in bandanas, each wielding an AK47, emerging from the jungle across the stream.

"Holy crap... Who are these guys?" Feng Bujue didn't recall seeing any such contestants in the opening CG. Their attire didn't seem like the staff's either... Even if they were staff, there was no reason to go after the contestants with AKs, right?

"They are pirates."

Suddenly, an unfamiliar voice came from behind Feng Bujue.

Jue-ge was startled by the voice and turned abruptly, only to see...

"Shhh—don't be afraid, I'm one of us." A man dressed in traditional Arab robes, Deng Shuke, was looking at Jue-ge with a serious expression, lowering his voice as he spoke, "I'll explain the specifics later, first let's take these two down..."

"Uh... okay." Feng Bujue only considered it for a second before deciding to do as the other man said.

In that second, Jue-ge's gaze had swept over the AK slung across Deng Shuke's shoulder, as well as the scimitar at his waist (the blade of the scimitar seemed to be stained with blood that had not yet dried).

Thus, he thought to himself: If Deng-shu harbored any hostility towards me, I would already be either dead or injured. He was able to come up behind me completely unnoticed, but he didn't attack me... which shows that he is indeed 'one of us'. And those two bandana-wearing men are undoubtedly the 'enemy'...

"Hmm... entrenching tool, knife, slingshot..." Deng Shuke glanced at Jue-ge, then asked, "Do you have any other weapons? Like... a gun?"

"Yes." As Feng Bujue spoke, he pulled a pistol from his pocket. "Six bullets." He wasn't playing any games at this moment, saying what he had.

"How's your marksmanship?" Deng Shuke asked quietly, his voice even lower than before, because the two men outside the bushes were getting closer and closer.

"Within three meters, I'm more than 90% sure to hit the torso, within five meters, about 70%, but any further... it's hard to say..." Feng Bujue gave a relatively cautious and honest answer. He knew that at such times it was best to be realistic; boasting or showing off could have serious consequences.

"Then you should save your bullets." Unexpectedly, Deng Shuke gave such a response, "I can handle them alone."

"Huh?" Feng Bujue was stunned.

Just as he was in a daze, Deng Shuke had already readied his AK, lowered his body, and moved out sideways.

"Who's there!" The two pirates outside had been chasing after Jue-ge, so they were relatively focused, and as soon as they saw the moving dark shadow, they immediately shouted and raised their guns to fire.

However, they were fast, but Deng Shuke was even faster.

And... more accurate!

All that was heard was "Pa pa pa pa," Deng Shuke's AK only fired four times, and the heads of the two men in the distance exploded like watermelons.

After being headshot, the bodies of the two pirates were still twitching as they fired a few shots, but those shots were aimless, and the bullets mostly flew into the sky.

Almost in the blink of an eye, Deng Shuke had completed a beautiful double kill.

Feng Bujue in the bushes was dumbfounded. This kind of shooting ability was definitely at the level of a shooting-type player above level forty, or even higher... because Deng Shuke's physical fitness, dynamic vision, reaction speed, etc... should all be inferior to a level forty player.

"Hoo... another two taken care of." Deng Shuke, having taken down the two pirates, breathed a sigh of relief with a relaxed expression, muttering a sentence.

"'Another'..." Feng Bujue, following out of the bushes, couldn't help but repeat this keyword.

Deng Shuke turned to look at him: "Heh... you thought... where did I get this AK in my hand?"

"Hmm... now that you mention it, I understand..." Feng Bujue twitched his lips and replied, "The original owner of this AK has become a dead soul under the blade at your waist, right..."

"That's right." As Deng Shuke spoke, he walked to the bodies of the two pirates and began to search them.

Feng Bujue had always been unwilling to fall behind when it came to touching corpses, so he hurriedly walked over to rummage through the other pirate's body. While groping, he asked, "So... now can you tell me the 'specifics'? Like... who are they? Why do they want to kill me?"

"They don't want to kill 'you'." Deng Shuke replied, "They want to clear the entire island." He paused for a moment, "Oh, right... they are pirates and drug lords, the captain is called Greybeard; the first mate is called Max Gray, Greybeard's son; their ship... or rather, submarine... is called the 'Parrot', named by the captain in memory of his dead parrot pet..."

"Hey, hey, hey... wait a minute..." Feng Bujue couldn't help but interrupt, "How do you know so much in such detail?"

Deng Shuke, busy searching the corpses, replied without looking up: "You saw the blood on my knife, right?"

"Hmm..." Jue-ge responded.

Deng Shuke continued: "Generally speaking, in a one-on-one situation, I don't need to use a knife to kill... even if I do, there won't be so much blood on the knife..."

"Oh..." Feng Bujue was who he was, he understood as soon as he heard these words, "No wonder the distribution of the bloodstains is a bit strange... so it was left over from interrogation..."

"Where was I... oh, right..." Deng Shuke brought the topic back on track, "That's a bunch of pirates, the total number of people... is around sixty, there are a total of twenty-six people who came to the island to conduct the search, in groups of two. Not every group has two AKs like this, most of them still use pistols, and some are also equipped with knives." As he said this, he had finished searching the corpse in front of him, "About an hour ago, the program crew's yacht was captured by the pirates, but fortunately the director and the others sabotaged the ship's surveillance, so we have the opportunity to play a game of cat and mouse with these pirates here..." He pulled the bolt of the gun, stood up handsomely, and carried the AK back to his back, "In short... *Wilderness Drug Hunt* is over, buddy..." He looked directly into Jue-ge's eyes, revealing a strange smile, "Now, let's play something real..."
