San Tian Liang Jue
Chapter 1321 Return to Jumo Island (11)
“Do you mind if I ask… what are you talking about?” Feng Bujue was a curious person, so he asked.
However, the two of them didn't seem to want to answer him.
"None of your business," Mad-Eye said with just those four words.
Blackbeard, however, had already drawn the Triton Sword from his waist and was channeling his power into the blade before slashing down.
The oppressive force of this attack was so intense that even the group of people standing a dozen meters behind Blackbeard could feel it clearly. There was no way the altar's defensive magic circle wouldn't react.
Unfortunately… reacting was useless.
Before Blackbeard's power, the magical energy contained within the magic circle only lasted for a second before collapsing.
When the magic circle dissipated, the altar, which from a physical standpoint was merely a pile of wood and stones… was naturally no match.
Thus, amidst a rumbling crash, the altar of the God of Wisdom, Wesden, was reduced to rubble.
The eight people in the distance watched the scene in silence.
They were all waiting quietly… waiting for Blackbeard to say or do something.
However, what awaited them was…
“Your actions are exactly as I expected.”
A voice unfamiliar to the players rang out from the still dissipating smoke and dust ahead.
Everyone looked towards the voice and soon… saw a blue portal gradually taking shape.
“You pirates really haven’t changed… still so crude and rude.” As the second sentence was spoken, an old man in a wizard's white robe, with a spiked hairstyle, and holding a long staff, walked out of the portal.
“You haven’t changed much either,” Blackbeard replied coldly, looking at the other man. “Still as hypocritical and disgusting as ever.”
“Hmph…” Wesden snorted coldly. “Blackbeard, I don’t want to argue with you. I’m just here to ask you…” He glanced at the eight people behind him. “…and your subordinates, to leave Jumo Island.”
“Since when did you become the master of Jumo Island?” The tone in which Blackbeard said this spoke more than the words themselves… he wasn't the kind of person who could be “asked” to leave.
“As everyone knows… the master of Jumo Island is the Lord of Time.” Wesden appeared very calm as he spoke slowly. “Of course, he has now fallen… logically speaking, it should be taken over by one of the Time Officers.” He shrugged and smiled. “Heh… unfortunately, his Time Officers aren’t very competent either. Apart from a few replaced guys and traitors, almost all the other Time Officers were killed by an interdimensional traveler called ‘Tun Tiangui Xiao’.” (Devouring Sky Ghost Brave)
Although Wesden was once very close to several Time Officers, his expression when describing the above event was more mocking; it was clear… Blackbeard’s claim that he was “hypocritical” was by no means groundless.
“Now that the Lord of Time and his direct subordinates are all dead, then… as his former ‘ally,’ it seems there’s nothing wrong with me taking over Jumo Island, right?” As Wesden said this, he casually tapped his long staff on the ground.
Instantly, a surge of magical energy, not particularly strong, rippled outward.
A few seconds later, rustling sounds came from the forest around the clearing, and before long, a large group of Illusion Demon Cult warlocks dressed exactly like the previous “prisoner,” their mouths sewn shut with thread… appeared on the edge of the clearing, surrounding the entire area.
Honghu quickly scanned and estimated the number of enemies, finding that there were more than one hundred and twenty… He couldn’t help but think: If these guys collectively opened their mouths, the scene would probably be more terrifying than if they joined forces to cast a burst array.
“What did you say?” Blackbeard didn’t care about the miscellaneous soldiers; he was more concerned about some of the information in Wesden’s words. “You’re the Lord of Time’s ‘ally’?” As he asked this, Blackbeard glanced back at Mad-Eye before continuing, “Why did I hear that… you were hostile to the other Eight Gods and Four Pillar Gods?”
“Heh… times change,” Wesden said. “Indeed, when the era of the Four Pillar Gods first arrived, we had some disagreements with them regarding ‘power.’ In dealing with these disagreements, we paid some prices…” He paused. “However, later, I figured it out… the rise of the Four Pillar Gods is the will of Heaven. Even we Nine Gods cannot defy it… Therefore, I chose to go with the flow of the times. I returned from another dimension, contacted the Lord of Time, and became his ally.”
“Oh~” As soon as Wesden finished speaking, Brother Jue on the other side chimed in with a strange tone, loudly picking up the thread, “In simple terms… you and your eight brothers wanted to split the territory with the Four Pillar Gods, but after a brawl, four of you were directly killed. You and the remaining four survived, fled in disarray, and hid in other dimensions; after a few years, you realized the principle of ‘if you can’t beat them, join them,’ shamelessly sneaked back, and sought out the Lord of Time, who was also in the Order camp, and kneeled down to be his dog… I don’t think there’s anything wrong with me saying that, right?”
Indeed, Feng Bujue’s analysis had no problems, and was basically consistent with the facts, but… his way of speaking was the exact opposite of Wesden’s “whitewashed” version – it was too harsh.
“You…” This was the first time Wesden had met Brother Jue, and naturally the first time he had experienced this level of “cheapness” in person. After a round of taunts, his hands were already shaking. “A mere interdimensional traveler… dares to speak so wildly…”
“Huh? ‘A mere interdimensional traveler’?” Feng Bujue repeated the other party's words, laughing arrogantly, “I might as well be a Lesser God. It’s fine if you can’t see my strength, but you don’t even know what I look like… it seems you really have been raised as a dog all these years…”
“Ah…” At this time, Honghu, who was also quite black-bellied, chimed in, adding insult to injury, “That’s only natural, right? The Lord of Time isn’t an idiot. He definitely wouldn’t reuse a defeated general with such great ambitions… Using ‘shelter’ as an excuse, confining him in his own territory, and finding someone to monitor and control him… that’s the best policy.”
Their duet completely enraged Wesden, because… the two men's deductions were accurate and every word hit Wesden's sore spot.
Although Wesden himself said that he and the Lord of Time were “allies,” the truth was seen through by Brother Jue at a glance – he had only taken the initiative to find the Lord of Time in order to return to the main universe, and expressed his “willingness to serve as a dog”; and what was the Lord of Time thinking… the same as Honghu said, he would never trust a guy like Wesden, but as a Pillar God of the Order camp, how could you drive away or kill a guy who “abandoned the darkness and turned to the light”? That wouldn't sound good either. Therefore, the Lord of Time confined Wesden in “Time City” (the city where the Time Officers were located, which was different from the Lord of Time's own “Time Domain”), gave him a nominal position as a “manager,” but did not give him any real power or authority.
Over the years, Wesden basically just loafed around in Time City, playing chess at this Time Officer's house one day, and dancing in that Time Officer's cave the next… At the instruction of the Lord of Time, the Time Officers tried not to mention external affairs to Wesden, lest he get information and make some changes… and naturally they would not reveal to the outside world that Wesden had returned to the main universe.
Later, Thriller Paradise was launched, and the main universe began to enter a new era. With the joint efforts of players and derivatives, the number of Time Officers became smaller and smaller… Finally, one day, Time City became an empty city, but Wesden was still restricted by the barrier set by the Lord of Time and could not leave this space.
Until… the day of the Twilight of the Gods, the barrier disappeared, and Wesden understood… this was the signal of the Lord of Time’s fall, and from that moment on, he truly “returned” to this world.
“Impudent!”
Let’s get back to the present. After being exposed by the two players, Wesden's years of pent-up anger were aroused; when a person endures for many years and finally makes it to the top, digging up his old scars… can easily cause him to go berserk.
It was seen that, with the shout of "Impudent!" Wesden pointed his staff, and a large fireball with a diameter of more than three meters instantly formed and flew towards Brother Jue and the others.
