Chapter 1741: Shaman magic (4)

I had seen the corruption energy affecting people before, but I had never actually witnessed a full transformation like the mutated orcs before.

So for these people that had witnessed something like this, the testimony that they gave should be considered seriously.

The corruption energy was Destruction Energy that came from the God of Destruction. Since this was something that came from the God of Destruction, did that mean that it was something that was directly linked to the God of Destruction?

So when people were completely taken over by the corruption energy, did that mean that they formed a connection with the God of Destruction.

Considering how the main forces of the God of Destruction were the Apostles of Destruction, it would only make sense that there was a connection that was formed between those that were corrupted by the corruption energy and the God of Destruction.

Though I couldn’t help wondering just how deep the connection between them and the God of Destruction was.

Perhaps it was a way to figure out what the God of Destruction was thinking?

After all, a connection with the God of Destruction was a rare thing.

But I didn’t go any further than this.

It wasn’t as if I could risk it by having people volunteer to be corrupted by the corruption energy to form this connection.

There was no telling what would happen after this connection was formed.

At the same time, it would be wrong to do this kind of human experimentation.

Going back to the cloaked orc, I said, "Since you’ve seen this, I’m sure you know how dangerous the forces of Destruction really are."

The cloaked orc slowly nodded in agreement before asking, "Then how do you plan on driving out these forces of Destruction that you mentioned."

Sincerity was the best way to move someone, so I didn’t hesitate to give him the truth.

"There’s such a thing?" The cloaked orc couldn’t help asking in a shocked voice when he heard what I said about the array that we encountered previously in the Mofu Mofu Kingdom.

Seeing that he was this interested, I didn’t hesitate to draw out the array and hand it over to him to take a closer look.

When the cloaked orc saw this drawing, there was a strange look that appeared on his face that attracted my attention.

After all, this was a look that showed that there was something familiar about this array to him.

Still, I didn’t say anything as I waited to see how else he would react.

But when I saw that there was no other reaction from the cloaked orc, I couldn’t help asking, "Is there something wrong with this array? Or is there something that you recognize?"

When the cloaked orc heard this, he gave a cough as if he was pulled out of his thoughts before saying, "I was just thinking that there was something familiar about this array and the array that we use for our shaman magic."

"Is that so?" I immediately asked in an interested voice.

The cloaked orc looked at me with a strange look, but in the end he said with a nod, "That’s right. We use arrays as well to summon the power of our ancestors and there’s some parts of this array that’s similar to the arrays that we use."

"Where?" I stood up and walked over to look over his shoulder.

The cloaked orc looked at me with a wry smile, but he still pointed out the parts of the array that seemed familiar to him.

Though he pointed it out, it didn’t actually mean anything to me since I didn’t understand shaman magic at all.

The only thing that I could say was, "As I’ve told you before, this array was used to summon the forces of Destruction. This kind of array should have been used to summon the forces of Destruction in your land as well. If there’s any information that you have, it would help us deal with them here."

The cloaked orc was silent for a bit before slowly saying with a nod, "I understand. But before I say this, I think you would need an explanation of how shaman magic works, right?"

Hearing this, I said with a trace of excitement, "Of course, please go ahead."

The cloaked orc looked at me with another strange look before he started explaining shaman magic to me.

It turned out that shaman magic was similar to summoning magic.

As they said previously, shaman magic was drawing on the power of their ancestors to create all kinds of different effects.

The energy that was generated from shaman magic could be used to strengthen themselves, strengthen their weapons, or even to cast magic like human magicians would.

It seemed that shaman magic really was a flexible power with how many different forms it could take.

But the key thing was that to summon the power of the ancestors, it seemed that a form of sacrifice was required.

This sacrifice could be small things like small animals hunted as prey.

However, the key thing was that the more that was sacrificed, the more power could be drawn from the ancestors of the orcs.

So for real powerful shaman magic, there was a large sacrifice that was required.

These arrays were used to initiate these sacrifices.

"Then you’re saying that the arrays that the forces of Destruction used have these parts that are related to the sacrifice?"

The cloaked orc hesitated for a moment before slowly giving a nod.

This was something that we had never considered before since we had no idea what those arrays were even for. We had just assumed that they were used to summon the corruption energy, but we never considered the price that had to be paid to activate those ruins.

"If that’s the case, then what was sacrificed this time to summon the forces of Destruction in this place?" I said while slowly knitting my brows.

The others all knitted their brows as well to show that they shared my thoughts.
