Back at the Mu Family home, as Jiang Xue pushed open the courtyard door, she saw her parents-in-law preparing to head out to work in the fields.

If she had come back any later, she might have had to go to the fields to find them.

"Mom, we missed you and Dad, so we came back to see you," Jiang Xue replied with a smile, causing Bai Yuhua’s smile to widen as she said, "Your dad and I miss you too. We were just thinking of coming to the city to visit you in a few days."
Jiang Xue laughed. At that moment, Little Reunion opened his eyes, and Jiang Xue said to the child with a smile, "Little Reunion, look where we are."
Little Reunion turned his head and looked around. When he saw Bai Yuhua, he immediately grinned and reached out to her, babbling, "Po, po!"
Jiang Xue knew Little Reunion wanted his grandma to hold him, so she handed him over to Bai Yuhua.
Bai Yuhua happily took the child. It had been a while since she last saw him, and he had gained some weight, feeling heavier in her arms.
Mu Siwu watched as his wife had already taken their grandson into her arms, feeling a bit jealous inside. However, he showed no sign of it and instead walked to her side to enter the house together.
Jiang Xue watched the elderly couple take the child inside and followed with a smile. Seeing her parents-in-law playing with the child, Jiang Xue opened the door to her own room.
The room’s furnishings hadn’t changed; it was just as she left it. The table looked very clean, indicating that her mother-in-law frequently cleaned it. Jiang Xue placed her things on the cabinet, then sat on the bed for a while before going out.
In the living room, Little Reunion had been passed to his grandpa, and grandma was nowhere to be seen.
Mu Siwu, with his face blooming into a smile, played with his little grandson for a while. When he saw Jiang Xue come out, he couldn’t help but ask, "Xue’er, have you eaten breakfast? Should we have your mom make something for you?"
With only the two of them at home, the breakfast they made was small and had already been finished. If Jiang Xue wanted to eat, they would have to cook again.
"No need, I’m not hungry." Jiang Xue shook her head with a smile, seeing that Little Reunion and his grandpa were having fun, she decided to go for a walk outside.
Of course, she especially wanted to go to the fields. As it was already the twelfth lunar month, she wanted to see what vegetables were left and planned to take some home in a few days.
"Dad, I’m heading out for a bit," Jiang Xue told Mu Siwu as she was about to leave. Just then, Bai Yuhua came out of the kitchen and asked, "Xue’er, what are you going to do? I’m just making some noodles for you."
"Mom, there’s no need. I had breakfast before coming back," Jiang Xue hadn’t expected her mother-in-law to already be making breakfast for her in the kitchen, and while feeling moved, she smiled and declined.
On the way back, she had indeed eaten two buns, so she wasn’t hungry at all.
"You’ve eaten?" Bai Yuhua asked again, and seeing Jiang Xue nod, she finally believed her and turned off the stove.
Since Jiang Xue had eaten, that was that, no need to cook more.
