Chapter 304: Chapter 306: Nervous?
If he discovered that someone was plotting against the maniac, the outcome would be disastrous. If she wanted to take action without leaving any trace, it had to be a well-thought-out plan.
「Finally, the night passed.」
The sky turned the color of fish-belly whiteness, and the rising sun illuminated Mother Earth with its orange glow. A new day began.
Waking up early, Sophie Sullivan found herself wide awake. After washing up, she had to change into patient clothes for surgery, so she didn’t bother changing and wore her sleep gown.
After she woke up, Thomas Shannon also woke up.
Checking the time, he frowned slightly. His voice, low and husky from just waking up, asked, "It’s still early. Why don’t you sleep a bit longer?"
"I can’t sleep anymore." Sophie Sullivan turned her head to look at him. "I’ll go have breakfast downstairs first, and then I’ll go to the medical office to find Old Mr. Standford."
Nodding gently, Thomas Shannon rested his arm over his eyes.
Leaving the bedroom, Sophie Sullivan hummed a little tune and lightly walked downstairs.
The Chief Chef had already prepared breakfast. Sophie Sullivan went downstairs and was about to enter the Restaurant.
She saw Minimus Hart assigning work to the maids. Minimus Hart noticed her instantly and merely nodded with a half-smile. That smile sent a chill down Sophie’s spine. Narrowing her eyes, Sophie sneered, her cold gaze sweeping over Minimus Hart’s face before she turned and entered the Restaurant.
While eating breakfast, Sophie Sullivan kept thinking, Minimus Hart wouldn’t be foolish enough to make a move on me now. If he dared to do so at this critical moment, I’d genuinely be impressed by his courage and intelligence. Regardless, the feud between us is now deeply set.
Sophie Sullivan sneered and dismissively continued her meal.
Whatever he plans, let him bring it on. I’ll see it through to the end!
Sophie Sullivan hadn’t seen Amelia Shaw by the end of breakfast. It’s better this way, she thought. Seeing her would only have ruined my mood.
She had thought Thomas Shannon was still resting, but as soon as Sophie Sullivan stepped out of the Restaurant, she saw the strikingly handsome Thomas Shannon coming downstairs.
The busy servants and maids simultaneously stopped what they were doing, bowed respectfully, and greeted in unison, "Young Master, good morning."
The black shirt he wore accentuated his cold temperament even more.
His well-defined brows were slightly furrowed as he struggled to fasten his cufflinks with his injured hand.
Catching a glimpse of Sophie Sullivan, he lifted his gaze. His clear, deep eyes fell on her face, and his sexy thin lips parted. "Maniac, come here."
Sophie Sullivan approached the staircase entrance, where Thomas Shannon stood a step above her, his hand outstretched.
He didn’t speak but stared at her attentively with his beautiful eyes.
Understanding his intention, Sophie Sullivan raised her hand and began fastening his cufflinks.
"Is that alright?"
Due to their height difference, compounded by him standing on the stairs, she had to tilt her head up to see his face.
Her small face tilted upward. Her glossy, seaweed-like hair covered half of it, revealing a cheek that was delicate, exceptionally beautiful, and flawlessly smooth.
Her skin was like cream, truly perfect.
Thomas Shannon raised his hand, his long fingers gently caressing her cheek. His voice, low and deep, carried an alluring magnetism. "Are you nervous?"
"A little."
Thomas Shannon chuckled softly, his hand moving down to rest on her shoulder. Embracing her, they started walking out. "Didn’t you want to find Old Mr. Standford? Let’s go."
From behind, Charlie River said worriedly, "Young Master, you haven’t had breakfast yet."
"Noisy."
Charlie River’s concern was met only with Young Master Shannon’s disdainful retort, "Noisy." Charlie River felt utterly bewildered. Young Master, you’ve really fallen! he thought.
