Chapter 315: Chapter 317: How Could She Bear It?

Fluffy Zane arrived at the designated restaurant; the driver had already left.

A waiter led her to a table by the window.

Jim Jones was already there. He sat with his head slightly bowed, quietly sipping a glass of lemon water.

When he raised his head and saw Fluffy Zane, he put down his water glass and stood up. "Fluffy?"

A hint of surprise flashed in Jim Jones’s eyes. He had been against the idea of a blind date, only coming along to appease his nagging parents and make an appearance. The moment he saw Fluffy Zane, he changed his mind.

Fluffy Zane wasn’t accustomed to strangers calling her so familiarly. However, considering he was her blind date, and Mrs. Zane had mentioned he was the Young Master Jones she had played with as a child, she suppressed her discomfort.

"Hello, I’m Fluffy Zane."

"Hello, I’m Jim Jones."

Fluffy Zane took the initiative to extend her hand. Jim Jones reached out his own; his knuckles were well-defined, and his fingernails were neatly trimmed. He lightly held her fingertips for a brief moment before letting go.

He didn’t take the opportunity to get handsy. That alone made a good impression on her.

Fluffy Zane began to observe him more closely. He had a handsome face and an extraordinary air about him. He wore a simple white shirt, black trousers, and a wristwatch.

Not bad. This was the style of men’s attire she preferred: not flamboyant, just simple and clean.

"Please, sit down. I wasn’t sure what you like to eat, so I haven’t ordered yet."

Jim Jones proactively pulled out a chair for her. Once she was seated, he returned to his own seat opposite her.

The waiter handed them menus. Jim Jones closed his without looking at it, just smiled at her. "I’ll have whatever you’re having. I’m not a picky eater."

Fluffy Zane found him quite interesting. She looked up and chuckled softly. "Do you have any dietary restrictions?"

"Do onions count?"

Starlight seemed to shatter deep within his eyes as Jim Jones gazed at her, his eyes twinkling.

Fluffy Zane nodded. "They certainly do."

After they had happily placed their orders, Jim Jones suggested a bottle of red wine. Worried that Fluffy Zane might misunderstand his intentions, he asked, "Would that be alright?"

"I don’t mind."

Jim Jones ordered a bottle of red wine from the waiter. Then, he explained, "I promised Auntie Zane I’d get you home safely, so please don’t worry."

This was the most enjoyable blind date Fluffy Zane had ever been on. So far, she couldn’t find any fault with Jim Jones.

"Young Master Guillen, what are you looking at?" Mila had finally managed to get William Guillen to agree to have dinner with her. Everything had been going well until he suddenly seemed distracted.

William Guillen’s gaze drifted past Mila, landing on Fluffy Zane, who was seated diagonally across from them.

Who was she having dinner with?

Mila followed his gaze and saw the stunning Fluffy Zane. Her soft, long, curly hair cascaded languidly over her shoulders.

She wore a pink knitted dress, the latest seasonal design from a top brand, which perfectly accentuated her graceful figure.

Even Mila, a woman herself, could sense the captivating aura Fluffy Zane exuded.

It was an open secret that Fluffy Zane had a crush on William Guillen; almost every woman in his circle knew.

Mila felt a pang of annoyance. This was supposed to be their romantic dinner, yet William Guillen kept looking at Fluffy Zane. How was she supposed to feel about that?

Turning back, Mila feigned generosity and asked, "Young Master Guillen, since we’ve run into Miss Zane, why don’t we go over and say hello?"

It was also no secret that William Guillen disliked Fluffy Zane; everyone knew it.

Therefore, Mila was certain William Guillen would refuse.
