Chapter 765: Chapter 767: Going to See Xiao’en?

"You didn’t even study this hard for your college entrance exam," Su Xi couldn’t help saying, and on reflection, it seemed that Nianhua had changed since starting university, becoming more diligent and gradually improving her performance.

The most important thing was, ever since their translation studio opened, Fei Jiayi’s seriousness about her studies had become even more formidable!

In the past, during winter and summer vacations, Fei Jiayi would hardly stay home, let alone read a book. She was always either out playing or searching for tasty foods!

"I have to work hard; otherwise, it wouldn’t feel right just taking the money while relying entirely on Nianhua," she said.

"You don’t know how hardworking everyone in our dorm is."

Fei Jiayi chattered on.

Su Xi reflected that there was truth in the saying that one is influenced by one’s close associates. Indeed, Fei Jiayi had changed for the better, which had surely eased her uncle and aunt’s minds.

"Yeah, yeah, I know your dorm is great," Su Xi said. "I came today to ask if you want to go out with me."

Without even asking where they would go, Fei Jiayi said, "No, I’ve already made plans with everyone to study hard this vacation."

"Xiao’en is back, and I’m planning to see him tomorrow. You’re always cooped up at home studying; you must be tired. Think of it as a chance to get out and relax," Su Xi urged. Xiao’en had just returned, and Jiayi, being lively, might just hit it off with him.

"I’m not going."

Fei Jiayi replied and then, realizing something, asked, "Is Xiao’en your cousin’s son?"

"Yes, he’s back from abroad this year, so I thought I’d take the chance to visit," Su Xi explained. She had visited several times before, and it always pained her to see Xiao’en quietly staying in his own little world, a child who should be at his mischievous age.

"I think I’ll stay home and study. I don’t even know him," Fei Jiayi considered seriously and still declined.

Su Xi: "..."

I’ve never seen you this studious even during the college entrance exam.

In the end, Su Xi couldn’t persuade Fei Jiayi to come with her to see Xiao’en. Ironically, Jiayi ended up persuading her, saying, "I remember you mentioned Xiao’en might be sick. If I, a stranger, go there, it might make him even unhappier. Since you’re familiar with him, you should go instead."

Thinking it over, Su Xi realized Xiao’en indeed did not like interacting with strangers. Thus, she dropped the subject, only staring at Jiayi and asking, "Jiayi, what would it take to get you out of the house and not spend every day at home studying and listening to English?"

"Su Xi, my dear sister, my parents are so pleased with me now," Fei Jiayi confessed regretfully. "They said they would buy me anything I wanted because I am studying so hard now. I regret not putting in a bit more effort during my college entrance exams, and not wanting to study seriously back in high school."

"..."

Su Xi didn’t want to talk anymore; it made her feel as if she was the irresponsible one.

After Su Xi left, Fei Jiayi felt she had forgotten something, as if something was on her mind, but she couldn’t figure out what it was and finally gave up thinking about it.

The next day, early in the morning, Su Xi took the books she had bought and headed to Yishui County, to the sanatorium. The serene environment there indeed was good for recuperation.

"Auntie, Xiao’en, I’m here to see you," Su Xi greeted cheerfully, carrying the gifts and saying, "Look what I’ve brought you!"

Offering the gifts like treasures, Su Xi had brought back a box of scarves with several colors from Su City recently. They were very beautiful and felt smooth to the touch.
