Chapter 101: Giant Slime Emperor Vs Sir Gabriel [1]

"A boss!"

"It’s a freaking boss!"

There were mixed reactions from everyone when they saw the announcement. Then, looking into the distance, they spotted a giant blue-colored slime that was over thirty meters tall and fifteen meters wide.

Some of the players were excited, while a few were outright panicking—after all, they could see the level number on the boss monster’s head.

[Giant Slime Emperor – LV 55]

"How are we supposed to fight that?! None of us have even reached level 10!"

"Dang, I’m logging out!"

[Ding! You can’t log out during combat]

"F**K! I forgot about this!"

"All members of the Silver Mist Guild should head to the city entrance now! No matter what, we must kill this monster!" shouted a guild leader, a determined look on his face.

The ChaosKnight Guild wasn’t the only one active.

Most professional players who already had existing guilds in other games had recreated their guilds in Realm of Ascendency.

One after the other, various guilds within Whitebridge began calling out to their members to defend the city.

Leveling up in Realm of Ascendency wasn’t as easy as most of them had thought, so they couldn’t afford to lose levels—and have their stats halved—for two entire days!

On the forum, the comment section was constantly refreshing as hundreds of users typed at once:

---

GameCrack101: hahaha, I bet the players at Whitebridge are shitting themselves by now.

LoreHunter: The game isn’t even a day old and we already have a boss event! You guys think this has something to do with Broken Heaven?

ZenoXplode: Bro, it has to be! Every time Broken Heaven shows up, the server starts glitching or throwing surprise events. First the treasure spam, now this??

CamStreamz: Anyone got a stream link?? I need to see this.

RealArcade: HERE!! [Link] ChaosKnight POV – They’re actually trying to fight it LOL

FireWisp: Noob guilds are gonna get wiped. They don’t even have AoE mages yet.

ShyGuyXD: RIP Whitebridge players. Y’all had a good run.

---

When IceQueen heard this, she quickly ordered the ChaosKnight Guild members in Whitebridge to engage the beast and do everything in their power to help defend the city.

Some players like Ragnarok99 cursed in frustration, wishing they had spawned in Whitebridge to participate in the first boss fight of the game.

He could only swallow his frustration and continue back to his hunt.

Another person who was frustrated was Bunny.

As a streamer, these were the kind of moments her viewers lived for.

Right now, all the attention was focused on Whitebridge City, everyone eager to see the outcome of the fight.

While some players were thankful they hadn’t spawned in Whitebridge—and others regretted it—Gabriel was carefully observing everything.

He had yet to make a move.

The people who initially wanted to fight him had also backed off.

On the city wall, the soldiers of Whitebridge City were slowly taking defensive positions, archers aiming their arrows and ready to fire.

Some fearless players had already charged headfirst at the giant slime, but they were easily killed, their bodies bursting into fragments of light.

"It’s like I’m hitting a rock! What the heck is with these damage numbers?" a sword-wielding player cried out.

"Don’t stop! We’re still making progress!"

Watching all this, the frown on Gabriel’s face deepened.

A lot of questions raced through his mind.

’I’m sure nothing like this happened in the past.’ he thought. ’Though I didn’t join the game early, I followed its development closely and no one mentioned anything like this.’

Unless it had happened and he simply never heard about it—which was very unlikely.

His only explanation was that his interference in the game was subconsciously accelerating some events.

Moreover, there was something else...

"Anna."

"Yes, Master." Anna replied, watching the players and soldiers fight the powerful slime monster, which was spewing blue substances from its body.

Whenever those blue liquids touched a player, they died instantly.

A few clever players tried hit-and-run tactics, but ultimately, they were also killed.

"Did you see the announcement just now?" Gabriel asked, though he had a hunch she hadn’t.

Anna shot him a confused look. "What announcement?"

Gabriel’s eyes flashed. That was all he needed to know.

That meant the penalty of this mission applied to him—so did the rewards.

Realizing this, Gabriel fell into deep thought.

’So whenever an event happens and I’m in the area, I’ll be affected?’ he mused.

This was a double-edged sword.

It could either benefit or ruin him. Of course, Gabriel was confident that the latter wouldn’t happen.

In the distance, the fierce battle continued.

Slashes, arrows, and fireballs rained down on the giant slime, but nothing worked. It was regenerating just as quickly.

"Damn it! It’s healing too fast!"

"We need a way to slow it down!"

"I think we need to target those blue cores inside it!"

Inside the slime’s massive translucent body, three rotating blue spheres floated.

The players concentrated their attacks there, but even penetrating its bubbly body was a problem, as all their attacks bounced off.

"Shit! Even magic is barely doing anything!"

"Don’t panic! Focus your attacks on the cores! I repeat, aim for the cores!"

[Ding! The Silver Mist Guild has been wiped out!]

[Ding! Remaining time left: 00:40:38]

Dozens of players rushed toward the boss, only to be flattened by a tidal wave of blue sludge or impaled by mucus-like spikes.

---

OmniBlade: NGL this boss feels like a GM prank. Ain’t no way this is fair.

CamStreamz: [Ding! The Silver Mist Guild has been wiped out!]

WarlordWinkz: LMFAO!!! RIP Silver Mist! Didn’t even last 10 minutes!!

SwoleKing: Someone check on their guild leader, he was screaming in VC like he had a plan.

ShadeJester: Bro said "We must kill this monster!" and the monster said "Bet."

HuntressX: Wait, where the fuck is Broken Heaven?!

---

Right at that moment.

Gabriel stood up from his seated position on the Kelsa truck and leapt down, causing a small thud. Anna’s brows furrowed, sensing a shift in his aura.

"Are we going in, Master?" she asked, an excited gleam in her eyes.

"Yes," Gabriel said without hesitation as he summoned Crimson Judgement.

"Tell all the players to stand back."
