Chapter 15 Deep Dive

The isolation door opened and closed, and Ou Zhanpeng and Xie Yu walked into the dissection room. The experimenters who had been waiting there looked over, and the middle-aged man at the head spoke sternly, "Captain Xie, you're finally here… everyone's here, let's begin!"

Ou Zhanpeng raised an eyebrow. What was with this attitude? Had Old Xie offended him?

However, Xie Yu acted as if nothing was wrong, completely unfazed by the middle-aged man's dismissiveness.

What happened next greatly surprised Ou Zhanpeng. In a corner, someone in a protective suit raised a camera. The middle-aged man turned to face the lens, "How's the signal?"

"Very clear," the person in the protective suit replied.

The middle-aged man cleared his throat and spoke in a very non-standard broadcast voice, "Hello everyone, I am Gong Yiding, the director of the Guanghan Scientific Research Station. Although the time was very rushed, we have made complete preparations in the shortest possible time!"

Ou Zhanpeng suddenly understood. No wonder he was so indifferent; it turned out this was the station director Gong who refused to leave!

It was said that this man regarded the research station as his lifeline. Giving up the research station was like striking at his lifeline, so it was strange he would be polite to Xie Yu.

While he was lost in thought, he suddenly heard Ling Xiao's voice of admiration, "Wow, this station director really knows how to play. He's even live-streaming!"

Ou Zhanpeng pondered for a moment and said, "Did you really think only we people were watching?"

Ling Xiao was stunned, "Who else?"

Ou Zhanpeng suddenly felt incredibly tired. "Can't you use your brain? This is the first time aliens have fallen into our hands. The entire fleet, the big shots on the ground, including Chairman Tu, how could they not be curious about what aliens look like? What's wrong with live-streaming? Is it too much?"

Ling Xiao's eyes widened in shock, "Damn it, why didn't I think of that?"

"It's a matter of intelligence, of course," Ou Zhanpeng said.

"You're the one who's slow-witted. I just don't want to waste my brain cells."

Ou Zhanpeng twisted the concept. "Having a brain and not using it, what's the difference from having no brain?"

"Of course there's a difference!" Ling Xiao wasn't fooled at all. "Having money and not using it, is that the same?"

As they bantered back and forth, Gong Yiding made a gesture, and the cameraman immediately turned the lens to the dissection table, focusing on the giant alien.

Station Director Gong continued his commentary, "This is one of the aliens. Without further ado, we will begin the dissection. Personnel not involved should step aside for a moment. Captain Xie, it's up to you now."

"Leave it to us," Xie Yu said.

The others filed out, and even the cameraman, after securing the camera, slipped away. Only Ou Zhanpeng and Xie Yu remained at the scene.

"Let's take off the outer armor first. This is a bit dangerous, so it's up to us," Xie Yu said.

Ou Zhanpeng's mind was flooded with a thousand exasperated thoughts. What was this all about?

"How do we start?" he asked.

Xie Yu said, "None of the moving parts can be touched. None of the suspicious structures can be touched. None of the unknown objects can be touched. Force must be light, movements must be slow, and actions must be steady!"

This task seemed to have no difficulty, but in reality, the danger was immense. Those things that didn't look like weapons at all, who knew if they were alien grenades.

Ou Zhanpeng blinked in surprise. He had it all figured out; how long had he been rehearsing this in his head?

"And this too!" Xie Yu kicked a heavy anti-explosion box at his feet. "If anything abnormal is found, throw it in here immediately!"

"Okay!" Ou Zhanpeng agreed. "Let's begin then!"

"Let's begin!"

The two of them, like a pair of bomb disposal experts, carefully began to examine the alien. Ou Zhanpeng was the first to remove a bracer from the giant alien's arm.

He knew it was a weapon, but he didn't know how to activate it, so he was extra careful.

Xie Yu also removed a badge, unsure of its function.

The two of them worked together, fumbling and prying, and in half an hour, they had removed more than twenty items from the giant alien, some as large as small watermelons and others as small as fingernails.

Each item had to be placed in a separate container, sampled, disinfected, and then sealed. Every procedure had to be meticulous.

Although the process was tense, it was completed without any major incidents.

But this was not the end. After sending all the small pieces out, Xie Yu picked up a delicate electric saw, chose a seemingly weak connection point, and began to cut through the armor on the giant alien.

Suddenly, a piercing noise and sparks flew.

Ou Zhanpeng mentally complained, what kind of dissection was this? It was more like a chainsaw massacre!

But then again, this job really couldn't be done by the researchers. With their protective suits, they would be burned through in at most three to five seconds.

Perhaps thinking there was no longer any danger, and worried that they might be too rough, Gong Yiding entered the dissection room alone and stood beside them, offering unsolicited advice, "Slower, slower, grind it off layer by layer. Determine the armor thickness before you proceed!"

Ou Zhanpeng really wanted to retort: If you're so capable, then do it yourself. If not, then shut up!

Xie Yu didn't pay much attention and proceeded at his own pace. Before long, the electric saw blade was worn down, but it had only left a shallow mark on the armor.

This time, both of them were a little dumbfounded, gaining a new understanding of the alien's armor.

Gong Yiding also wisely shut his mouth. This was no longer about hurting the alien, but about whether they could even remove the armor!

Ou Zhanpeng sighed and suggested, "Why don't we use laser cutting?"

Xie Yu didn't reply, he turned to look at Gong Yiding, "Station Director Gong, what do you think?"

Gong Yiding was genuinely unwilling, but the live stream was on. If it took hours to remove the armor, wouldn't the viewers, the important figures watching, have long since left?

He gritted his teeth fiercely, "Go ahead!"

"Alright, we've been waiting for your word!"

Before long, a laser cutter was delivered to the dissection room. Ou Zhanpeng couldn't help but sigh at how well-equipped this place was!

This time, they didn't need to do it themselves. Gong Yiding arranged for professional personnel from the station to make bold assumptions and careful deductions, quickly identifying several key nodes.

In just over ten minutes, several key nodes were cut. Gong Yiding personally removed the chest plate.

However, beneath the chest plate was not flesh and blood, but extremely precise mechanical structures.

Everyone was stunned. Ou Zhanpeng's face was filled with doubt, "No way? I clearly saw a lot of liquid flowing from the cracks."

"Are you sure it wasn't engine oil?"

Ou Zhanpeng's face turned dark, "Didn't you take samples just now? What were the lab results?"

"The results are not out yet, but it didn't look like engine oil, nor did it look like blood."

As the armor plates were removed one by one, more and more internal structures were revealed. Whether it was the limbs or the body, they were all precise mechanical structures.

"Mechanical life? Cybertronians?" Gong Yiding was completely unnerved. He gritted his teeth and hardened his resolve, "Continue, dismantle it!"

This was too damn ridiculous!
