Chapter 463 The Fiery Cross

Heretical and absurd theories ran rampant, with incessant demonic pronouncements sowing confusion among the masses. The Demon Heavenly Master seemed to speak as one, yet also as myriad souls, for in the eyes of the Vajra, all celestial bodies and myriad beings within this Vajra realm had become devout followers of the Demon Heavenly Master, uttering all manner of deceptive words. Yet, he knew this was merely a trick of "illusion"!

"Do you think this can hinder my Bodhi Vajra Heart? With a single thought of mine, all sentient beings transform into Buddhas."

The Unobstructed Vajra destroyed all afflictions. In an instant, the beings within this distorted Vajra realm once again assumed solemn expressions and began chanting Buddhist scriptures. The transformation between Buddha and demon occurred in a single thought, and the abilities of the two Heavenly Hearts extended from the Vajra realm into the human realm.

The sentient beings of the South Sea were thus swayed, at one moment converting to the Demon Heavenly Master, and at the next, to the Unobstructed Vajra. Buddhist teachings and demonic pronouncements mingled, affecting even those cultivators who had reached the Spirit Refining stage. Temples and sects across various regions descended into chaos, with many even overturning their own altars and smashing their worshipped idols, seeking to follow the demonic path or Tantra.

Only those at the Immortal level remained unaffected. In the South Sea, the Thunder King was drawn into the Eastern Hua dreamscape, leaving only two other unremarkable Immortals. They were at a loss for how to deal with this chaos, as the influence originated from the Vajra realm, not the human realm.

"Those who have not attained immortality are like ants; those who have attained the Dao are also ants! This cultivation is truly hopeless!"

The two Dharma sect Immortals suffered damage to their Dao hearts at this moment. They had not even truly perceived the influence of the Heavenly Heart realm on the mortal world. A mere ripple of their battle had thrown the region into disarray, blurring right and wrong. Ordinary Immortals felt an overwhelming sense of powerlessness before such great beings as the Heavenly Hearts.

You can neither save the world nor save yourself!

However, the Unobstructed Vajra's influence was beginning to wane. Due to the interference of the Six Paths of Reincarnation, his Heavenly Heart resonance became unstable. This caused the Unobstructed Vajra to look towards Ksitigarbha within the Six Paths of Reincarnation and issue a warning:

"If you continue to interfere with me through the Dao of Reincarnation, attempting to suppress all my Heavenly Heart divine powers, and if you persist in this, I will cast you into the depths of reincarnation, never to return."

"You know that my Tantric lineage is the fundamental Buddha of the world, and I am well-versed in the methods of Nirvana! Do you wish for Nirvana!"

Ksitigarbha said within the Six Paths of Reincarnation, "I have already entered the Six Paths of Reincarnation and lost my consciousness. What difference is there in Nirvana? What do I have to fear from Nirvana?"

"All conditioned things are impermanent; what is born will surely die. What is not born will surely not die; this cessation is the greatest joy."

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was not afraid of the Unobstructed Vajra's threat. At this moment, Guanyin's voice rang out, her wondrous melody reaching Mount Luojia:

"The Mahavairocana Buddha is in the human realm and can only utilize the power of the Vajra realm. He cannot mobilize the Womb Realm. This universe is incomplete. Join forces, and you need not fear; merely engage in battle for a while, and you can force him to retreat."

The Unobstructed Vajra emitted a resounding Buddhist chant.

"Is that so? Is that what you believe?"

"I do not manifest the Womb Realm because if the Womb Realm were to appear, all sentient beings would transform into Buddhist disciples and be rejected by the world."

The Vajra realm represents the wisdom of the Buddha, while the Womb Realm represents the rationality of the Buddha. When the Womb Realm descends, all sentient beings enveloped by it will manifest Buddha-nature. And as long as there is Buddha-nature, they are all Buddhas.

Naturally, the human world could not allow a Heavenly Heart to activate the Womb Realm. This would require other Heavenly Hearts to respond, as it is a magnificent world formed by the aspirations of all Buddhas, representing the root of Buddha-nature in the world.

The Unobstructed Vajra's resolve was firm:

"Since you refuse to retreat, then let you all perish here."

His body was tranquil, detached from all forms, it is said.

Brilliant light radiated from the Unobstructed Vajra! For a moment, it even suppressed the power of the Demon Heaven, and his body actually manifested five Buddha forms consecutively!

Upon witnessing this, Ji Xiang murmured softly:

"In Tantra, there is a saying that the Five Dhyani Buddhas of Tantra are all manifestations of Mahavairocana!"

The Unobstructed Vajra's voice was vast:

"Not so. The Five Dhyani Buddhas are mutually inclusive, each containing the form of the other. The myriad beings in the world, when appearing before others, can only manifest one image, which is their original form and spirit."

"If someone possesses the divine position of a celestial god, they will possess a temporary celestial god image. Alternatively, some forge their own path and can possess two or more permanent forms and spirits. These are not borrowed images, but abilities they fully possess. The method of transforming between several images is called the art of transformation, a divine ability that is difficult to learn and difficult to find."

"And within the Vajra realm, by drawing upon the thoughts of sentient beings, I am the Five Dhyani Buddhas, and the Five Dhyani Buddhas are also everything! As sentient beings imagine, so do I transform. This thought is not broken by demonic pronouncements, nor is it controlled by Western arts."

The Unobstructed Vajra clasped his hands together, the sound of his palms colliding like the shattering of heaven and earth.

"The Great Mandala of Vajra Realm Wisdom—The Five Stages of Attainment!"

The five great Buddhas manifested their forms. They were formless, yet within the Vajra realm, they truly existed. The Dharma bodies of the five Buddhas and Bodhisattvas were formed from the five great elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Void, which generate all Buddhist laws in the world.

Simultaneously, through five types of contemplation, one attains Buddha-nature, comprehending the mind, the Bodhi mind, the Vajra mind, the Vajra body, and the perfectly accomplished supreme Bodhi mind.

The Buddha of Southern Joyful World, Ratnasambhava; the Buddha of Eastern Abhirati, Akshobhya; the Buddha of Western Pure Land, Amitabha; the Buddha of Northern Lotus World, Amoghasiddhi.

And from the Unobstructed Vajra's body, the golden light receded, replaced by pure white radiance.

"Self-nature is pure, coming from the pure land."

"The pinnacle of form."

Within the Vajra realm, the Unobstructed Vajra further unfolded his pure land divine kingdom. Mount Luojia and the Six Paths of Reincarnation were instantly compressed into mere phantoms. Within the Six Paths of Reincarnation, Ksitigarbha chanted:

"The Seven Meanings of Earth."

Birth, collection, support, storage, holding, reliance, and immovability. The Seven Meanings of Earth increase all goodness, collect all good Dharma within the heart, bear all the sins of sentient beings, store all wondrous Dharma, hold all wondrous goodness, are relied upon by all sentient beings, and the earth is as unshakeable as Vajra.

The Six Paths of Reincarnation broke free from the phantom state, becoming unshakeable. Ksitigarbha drove the ghost paper of the hungry ghosts towards the Unobstructed Vajra, with the spirit of mutual destruction.

The Unobstructed Vajra, however, found himself restrained. He did not wish to be dragged into the Six Paths of Reincarnation. Facing Ksitigarbha's desperate fighting style, he was greatly perplexed:

"You do not fear cessation because you are prepared for cessation. Do you wish to drag me into cessation as well?"

"How can I allow you to have your way?"

"Mahavairocana's Three Aspects!"

The sun in the world has its divisions, but its light does not illuminate the night. The Tathagata's wisdom, like sunlight, is not so; it illuminates everywhere, without distinction between day and night, inside and outside.

The white light emanating from the Unobstructed Vajra intensified. The hungry ghosts on the ghost paper were instantly transformed into Buddha forms one after another. The Six Paths of Reincarnation lost its key to entry and would be closed by the Unobstructed Vajra!

Ksitigarbha was also startled, and the Unobstructed Vajra's voice was clear and vast:

"If hell is not empty, I shall not become a Buddha."

"I have converted the hungry ghosts into Buddhas. When the Six Paths are empty, and all ghosts become Buddhas, my vow will be fulfilled, and I shall attain Nirvana."

Buddhist light emanated from Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's true form. Even his great vow was exploited by the Unobstructed Vajra at this moment. After the Buddhist light, the karmic fires of hell arose. Because Ksitigarbha bore the evil karma of sentient beings, each Nirvana also eliminated karma.

Just then, a piece of darkness flew from Mount Luojia, within which were illusions of various cities. Guanyin's voice was heard:

"Sin! The three thousand great chiliocosm, Yakshas, Rakshasas, and all the ghosts of the earth, all enter reincarnation to supplement!"

In the three thousand worlds, there are Yakshas, Rakshasas, and ghosts of the earth who harm sentient beings. In Buddhist scriptures, Guanyin's holy name conceals their perception, preventing them from harming others. However, once the Buddhist light retreated, these ghosts of the earth flowed out. They were seen rushing into the ghost paper of the hungry ghosts, beginning to battle with the hungry ghosts who had become Buddhas.

With a single thought from the Unobstructed Vajra, two of the Five Dhyani Buddhas turned towards Mount Luojia, pushing it back. The Vajra's true form looked at Ji Xiang:

"I will show you how to turn falsehood into truth! Without the assistance of the Great Vehicle Heavenly Hearts, you will never be able to defeat me."

"And even if the Great Vehicle Heavenly Hearts descend... within the Vajra realm, they are insignificant!"

"Western arts are merely inferior."

However, just as the Unobstructed Vajra uttered these words.

That patch of falsehood, which had merely swallowed the divine form of the blue-robed cleric and released a false gospel, suddenly became indestructible. Sacred texts arranged themselves upon it, and a magnificent cross suddenly illuminated the universe of the Vajra realm!

"Oh?"

Ji Xiang did not anticipate such a change. Not only that, but the Demon Heavenly Master, Ksitigarbha, and Guanyin were all unprepared for the current situation.

The Unobstructed Vajra's golden eyes narrowed further.

"Hmph!"

This disdainful provocation was the ultimate response to this cross!

"This is going to be interesting," the Demon Heavenly Master thought. Although somewhat surprised, after all, this was the Vajra realm of Buddhism, which held supreme importance among the various realms of Buddhism, especially the Tantric realm. Yet, an outsider wanted to come and play?

Did he anger Christ?

The sacred texts suddenly ignited, and all the flames surged towards the Unobstructed Vajra, forming a colossal flaming cross!

In the unseen depths, a soft, genderless, and toneless reprimand was heard:

"Hatred, anger, malice, slander, and foul language from the mouth, as well as thoughts of greed, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false witness, and defamation. Desire is the root of suffering."

"For this, you shall be subjected to the punishment of fire."

This flaming cross, like the karmic fire of all sentient beings, began to burn and consume the Vajra realm!
