Chapter 221: Chapter 221: King Pan Has Gone Mad_1
Hearing the exclamations from outside, Qin Feiyang and Wolf King both wore disdainful expressions.
Back when they were activating the Door of Potential, they had been able to move despite the full pressure exerted by Yan Nanshan, all thanks to their astonishing willpower.
The strengths of King Pan and Yan Nanshan were comparable. However, the pressure King Pan had just exerted was hasty, likely not even half its full potential. Naturally, it couldn’t completely immobilize them.
"Qin Feiyang, if you know what’s good for you, hand over the Elixir Scripture and Potential Elixir. Otherwise, don’t even dream of leaving this place!"
Just then, King Pan’s voice came through again, his threat blatant.
Qin Feiyang’s actions made King Pan even more convinced that the Elixir Scripture was definitely related to the Potential Elixir.
Compared to the treasury, the Elixir Scripture and the Potential Elixir were obviously more important.
Therefore, they had to be obtained!
The Wolf King was filled with righteous fury. This old scoundrel is truly shameless!
WHOOSH!
Qin Feiyang reappeared in the Golden Throne Hall. Looking at King Pan, he asked casually, "Are you so confident you can keep me here?"
"What do you think?" King Pan snorted coldly.
"I’ve never met anyone as foolish as you."
Qin Feiyang shook his head with a contemptuous smirk. Without further ado, he entered the ancient castle and immediately took out an Image Crystal Stone.
With the Golden Throne Hall burned and the treasury looted, there was naturally no further need to stay.
Soon, Lu Hong’s phantom image materialized.
Lu Hong laughed and asked, "Did you get the Martial Arts Technique?"
Qin Feiyang said, "Go and inform Jiang Zhengyi immediately. King Pan intends to seize the Potential Elixir and has me and Wolf King trapped in the Golden Throne Hall of the King’s Palace."
"Damn it!"
Lu Hong was stunned. He turned off the Image Crystal Stone and immediately went to find Jiang Zhengyi.
「In less than ten breaths,」 a white figure burst into the King’s Palace, materializing above the Golden Throne Hall. It was Jiang Zhengyi!
He looked down at the Golden Throne Hall, his face twitching. Those two little rascals really can’t be left alone for a moment, he thought, though a part of him found it quite satisfying.
"How did he find this place?"
King Pan, standing inside the Golden Throne Hall, also noticed Jiang Zhengyi at once and frowned.
Jiang Zhengyi landed before the Golden Throne Hall. Looking at King Pan inside, he said angrily, "Old Xia, what is the meaning of this? Publicly detaining people from my Yan Province—are you provoking my Pavilion?"
Before his voice faded, Qin Feiyang appeared out of thin air. He then nonchalantly walked past King Pan to stand beside Jiang Zhengyi.
Jiang Zhengyi asked, "Did he do anything to you?"
Qin Feiyang replied, "If I hadn’t been vigilant, he would have snatched the Potential Elixir. It’s truly unexpected that the dignified Commandery Prince of Pan County would resort to such underhanded tactics."
Jiang Zhengyi’s expression darkened. "Old Xia," he shouted, "how do you explain this!"
King Pan said grimly, "He burned down the Golden Throne Hall. I merely asked him to compensate with the Potential Elixir. What’s wrong with that?"
"Would I have burned down this damned place if you hadn’t trapped me here?"
"It was just tit for tat."
"Are you still wondering how I contacted Pavilion Master Jiang?"
"Your intelligence is truly questionable. As a Top Grade Alchemist, do you think I can’t afford an Image Crystal Stone?"
Qin Feiyang’s lips curled into a sneer.
Hearing this, King Pan was overcome with deep regret, unable to extricate himself.
Image Crystal Stones were indeed expensive. Even a War King would balk at such an expense, let alone a young man.
But is this boy ordinary? With his wealth, what couldn’t he afford? This prodigy cannot be judged by conventional standards.
To think that he, a dignified Commandery Prince, would make such a rudimentary error. A lifetime of astuteness, undone by a moment of folly!
Qin Feiyang shook his head and said lightly, "Alright, I’m magnanimous and won’t bicker with you. Just fulfill your promise: give me the Martial Arts Technique and alchemical herbs, and I’ll let this matter rest."
Jiang Zhengyi rolled his eyes. A mere stripling, daring to speak of magnanimity before a Commandery Prince? Is he trying to turn the heavens upside down?
Predictably, King Pan was livid, practically fuming.
"What?"
"Not going to honor it?"
"Then my only recourse is to post this agreement on the city gates, so everyone in King Pan City can learn of your, King Pan’s, true character." Qin Feiyang stated calmly.
Since all pretenses were dropped, he naturally wouldn’t try to save King Pan any face.
"I’ll give it to you!"
King Pan gritted his teeth, took a bamboo scroll from his Qiankun Bag, and hurled it forcefully at Qin Feiyang.
The bamboo scroll, ordinarily unremarkable, now flew like a menacingly sharp projectile!
If Qin Feiyang tried to catch it, the bamboo scroll would likely obliterate him on the spot!
HMPH!
Jiang Zhengyi stepped in front of Qin Feiyang, shot out his hand, and easily caught the bamboo scroll.
He glanced at the bamboo scroll, surprise flickering in his eyes. Then, he looked up at King Pan, an icy glint in his own.
"Aren’t you going a bit too far?"
"If you truly want a fight, my Pavilion will gladly oblige you to the very end!"
As he spoke, an astonishing Battle Intent surged from Jiang Zhengyi.
"Jiang Zhengyi, this is the heart of the King’s Palace, not a place for you to run amok!"
Following an angry shout, a burly man in golden armor flew in.
Jiang Zhengyi didn’t even glance at him, stating indifferently, "Insignificant whelps, get out of my way."
The man in golden armor bellowed, his fury seeming to pierce the heavens, as his Battle Intent surged towards Jiang Zhengyi like a tidal wave. "Even if this Commander’s strength is unequal to yours, I will not tolerate such insolence!"
However, Jiang Zhengyi simply waved his hand casually, and all the Battle Intent dissipated into nothing.
Seeing that the man in golden armor had not yet desisted, King Pan frowned and shouted, "Great Commander, stop!"
WHOOSH!
The Great Commander landed beside King Pan like a streak of divine light, glaring daggers at Jiang Zhengyi and Qin Feiyang.
Qin Feiyang ignored him completely and asked King Pan, "And the alchemical herbs?"
King Pan replied, "Tomorrow morning, I will have someone deliver them to you."
Qin Feiyang said, as if in sudden realization, "Ah, that’s right. Since the treasury was looted by Wang San, you probably can’t produce so many alchemical herbs right away. In that case, I can only wait until tomorrow to give you the agreement."
King Pan suppressed his fury and said, "Let me see your Qiankun Bag."
"Alright!"
Qin Feiyang took out Blue Snow and tossed it over without hesitation.
Upon inspecting it, King Pan was stunned.
Inside the Qiankun Bag, apart from some daily necessities and around a million Gold Coins, there were only a few ordinary Top Grade elixirs.
Are these the entire assets of a Top Grade Alchemist? Am I dreaming?
Impossible. He must be hiding another Qiankun Bag.
King Pan muttered under his breath, returning the Qiankun Bag to Qin Feiyang. "Do you dare let me search you?" he asked.
Qin Feiyang shrugged and smiled casually. "Why wouldn’t I? But this time, it’ll cost you the alchemical herbs for twenty Vermilion Glazed Pills."
"Why don’t you just rob me outright?!" King Pan was incandescent with rage.
This little beast is an absolute bandit!
"So, are you searching or not?" Qin Feiyang taunted, his gaze challenging.
King Pan sized Qin Feiyang up and down, hesitating. He was now completely at a loss, unsure what to do.
"If you search, you might just discover something interesting," Qin Feiyang said with a grin.
Search? Or not? Is this boy bluffing? King Pan’s mind was in turmoil. He was like a headless fly, utterly bewildered.
"If you’re not going to search, I’ll be leaving," Qin Feiyang added, with each word pushing King Pan deeper into the abyss of indecision.
"Search!" King Pan suddenly roared. "Great Commander, search him! See if he has any other Qiankun Bags!"
Qin Feiyang raised his arms in a gesture of surrender.
Seeing this, King Pan knew he had lost the gamble again. The little beast had tricked him once more.
The Great Commander searched Qin Feiyang thoroughly, then turned to King Pan and shook his head.
"Haha..." Qin Feiyang burst into laughter. "That’ll be alchemical herbs for thirty Vermilion Glazed Pills in total, Senior King Pan. Remember to have them sent over tomorrow morning."
King Pan roared in exasperation, "Get out! Get out of the King’s Palace immediately! And don’t ever let me see you again!"
Qin Feiyang smirked and nodded to Jiang Zhengyi.
Jiang Zhengyi waved his hand, and with Qin Feiyang, soared into the sky.
A murderous glint flashed in the Great Commander’s eyes before he looked away. Turning to King Pan, he asked, "Your Majesty, what exactly happened?"
"I was too foolish; I fell for his scheme."
"Issue orders immediately to keep him under surveillance around the clock. Report any unusual activity at once."
King Pan clenched his fists tightly, his eyes frigid and sharp.
"Very well." The Great Commander nodded.
King Pan asked, "Have you found Wang San?"
The Great Commander replied, "No, Your Majesty. I’ve searched the entire King’s Palace but found no trace of him. However, I’ve already dispatched men to search the city and have ordered the city gates sealed. As long as he remains in King Pan City, he won’t escape."
"You must hurry," King Pan urged.
"Understood." The Great Commander nodded and swiftly departed.
"Qin Feiyang..."
Enjoy your arrogance for now. But once the competition starts, I will ensure you die without a complete corpse!
King Pan stared in the direction Qin Feiyang and Jiang Zhengyi had disappeared, a terrifyingly cold light glinting in his eyes.
「Back at the Phoenix Tower!」
Jiang Zhengyi sat in the tea room, looking at the broadly smiling Qin Feiyang opposite him. He frowned and asked, "You mentioned the royal treasury was looted. What was that about?"
Upon hearing this, Lu Hong’s and Fatty’s eyes twinkled.
Qin Feiyang shook his head. "I’m not too clear on the specifics. I only heard King Pan say it was a guard named Wang San who did it."
"A guard dared to loot the treasury? Are you joking?" Jiang Zhengyi gave Qin Feiyang a peculiar look.
Qin Feiyang chuckled. "It just goes to show that this Wang San is an exceptionally clever individual. Even I have to admit he’s outdone me."
Jiang Zhengyi looked at him intently.
He couldn’t see through Qin Feiyang either.
Too composed. Too calm. Such composure shouldn’t belong to a sixteen-year-old boy.
He even began to wonder if this youth was some centuries-old monster in disguise.
"You’d best watch yourself," Jiang Zhengyi said meaningfully, then rose and left the room.
Qin Feiyang shot Fatty a knowing glance.
Fatty understood immediately and hurried to close the door.
Lu Hong asked, "Was it you?"
Qin Feiyang didn’t answer, instead leading the two of them directly into the ancient castle.
Fatty asked excitedly, "Boss, Brother Wolf, quick, tell us! How did you pull it off?"
Qin Feiyang recounted the events in detail.
Fatty and Lu Hong listened, their hearts pounding in their chests.
They broke into a cold sweat, especially upon hearing about the incident in King Pan’s bedchamber.
