Huan Meng Lie Ren

Chapter 312 The Princess and the Unicorn

Li Dazhuang and Tao Wen, clad in ridiculous poker uniforms, patrolled the fairy tale town.

Previously, they had been mere service attendants for an amusement facility. Now, they were the legitimate guards of the town.

They remembered nothing of what happened before, only that they were poker guards, much like the young men around them. There were dozens more like them in the town.

"Please, let me go. I don't want to play house in this damn town anymore," a man pleaded with the armored guard at the town's entrance.

He and his wife had come to play after dropping their child off at cram school, planning to pick up their child that afternoon. However, they had been trapped here for days.

"You are a resident of Fairy Tale Town. You are not permitted to leave without the mayor's order," the armored guard said stiffly.

"It's been five days, and you say the same thing every day. I want to see what you can do to me!" The man's eyes narrowed, and he shoved the armored guard hard, causing his helmet to fall off.

Inside—there was no head!

The man stumbled back a few steps, trembling. He had been controlled within the town for days, but he had never realized that those who controlled him were not human!

He was quickly subdued by several armored guards and forced to kneel on the ground, unable to move.

The armored guard, whose head had been hanging down, fumbled for his helmet and put it back on. Two horrifying red lights flashed from his eyes.

He drew his long sword and was about to strike the man's head, but he retracted the sword just as it was about to touch the skull.

Then, along with all the armored guards here, he knelt on one knee.

A warm white light appeared, and a beautiful woman in a princess dress, riding a unicorn radiating white light, elegantly arrived at the town entrance.

Although the unicorn and the princess only appeared to be actors and props from the fairy tale town, no one doubted their identities now.

Under the sacred light of the unicorn, the man's frightened heart was instantly soothed. He felt liberated.

"What is going on?" the princess said softly, her voice even clearer and more melodious than the call of an oriole.

The armored guard said in a deep, muffled voice, "Your Highness, this lowly fellow attempted to escape."

The princess gracefully dismounted the unicorn and walked to the man, asking gently, "Why do you wish to leave? Have we not treated you well, or do you not wish to live with us anymore..."

The man thought for a moment and realized that these strange people, apart from preventing them from leaving the town, had not done anything excessive. In fact, they had fulfilled many of his requests.

Whether it was wealth, leisure, or beautiful women...

So, he said softly, "It's not that you haven't treated me well, it's just that my child is still outside..."

The princess took a step back, her tone growing a little colder. "So, you wish to leave, and it has nothing to do with us, it's all your own problem."

The man hesitated, then nodded and said, "Yes, let me go. I won't cause any trouble for..."

"Since you do not wish to be here, I will not keep you any longer. You may leave now." The princess's friendly expression completely vanished, replaced by an air of distant coldness.

Upon hearing the princess's words, the man was overjoyed. After thanking her, he ran towards the town gate.

He had obtained two gold ingots here. As long as he got out, he could...

*Splat...*

The man's thoughts froze. He stared blankly at his chest and found that it had been pierced by a faintly glowing horn.

It was the unicorn's horn!

After piercing the man, the unicorn's mane was stained with blood. It galloped wildly across the ground.

Its true nature had been suppressed for too long. It only liked pure maidens; as for other humans, it was better for them to disappear.

But the unicorn's gallop soon stopped. It trotted and hid behind the woman, its shining silver eyes looking ahead timidly.

A figure in a black robe emerged from the darkness and said displeasedly to the 'princess,' "You promised me you wouldn't kill anyone here."

The princess moved a few steps closer to the figure, placing her hand on his shoulder, and blinked, saying, "We agreed not to kill the townspeople, but he seems to dislike his identity and insisted on leaving."

The shadowy figure was silent for a moment before saying, "This is the last time!"

The princess giggled lightly. "You are not in a position to demand anything of us. As long as it is an agreement with you, we will never break it. But you cannot control matters outside of our agreement!"

For a moment, her face seemed to wither, covered in scars and wrinkles. Black liquid flowed from her eyes, nose, and mouth, making her appear utterly terrifying.

But that vision lasted only an instant. She transformed back into a peerlessly beautiful princess, mounted the unicorn with a red horn on its head, and gradually rode away.

As she walked, she complained to the unicorn, "Isn't it better to just stomp them? I still have to clean your mane..."

Watching the princess's retreating figure, the shadowy figure sighed and said, "Why can't we coexist peacefully? This is not what I wanted to see..."

...

"Fairy Tale Town is up ahead. There's only one entrance. I don't care how you play, I won't interfere with you, and you shouldn't interfere with me," Wen Wen unceremoniously kicked Sifolmo out of the car.

Watching Wen Wen's car disappear, Sifolmo let out a wry smile. He and Wen Wen really didn't get along.

Then, he looked at the entrance to Fairy Tale Town and murmured, "So, the current goal is, for now, to not get lost here..."

After getting some distance from Sifolmo, Wen Wen returned to The Disaster Containment Facility. Being with Sifolmo the whole way made certain things inconvenient.

Sifolmo was an excellent demon hunter, but his excellence in discerning Wen Wen's thoughts from his every action was somewhat irritating to Wen Wen.

For someone like Wen Wen, the most unbearable thing was having someone smarter than him around, bossing him around.

Furthermore, his plan differed somewhat from Sifolmo's. Sifolmo could only employ minor tactics for cautious exploration.

But Wen Wen was different. He had many methods to know the situation inside Fairy Tale Town, and he didn't want Sifolmo to know any of them.

Thus, he pretended to not get along with Sifolmo and found an excuse to go solo.

Moreover, he wasn't worried about Sifolmo getting into trouble without him by his side. Although they had only known each other for a short time, and Wen Wen found the guy quite annoying,

Wen Wen had to admit that without The Disaster Containment Facility, this guy would be even more outstanding than himself!
