Chapter 360 Monster Overhaul

Emerging from Tao Qingqing's cell with a refreshed spirit amidst her piercing screams and venomous curses, Wen Wen felt invigorated.

Implanting the chains in her had been far more challenging than in Bai Xiaomi, but Wen Wen reveled in the process. Tao Qingqing held a similar place in Wen Wen's heart as San Zaier; both were pets. Seeing her in unbearable pain, Wen Wen would pause for a moment out of affection before continuing.

This indulgence meant Tao Qingqing endured the pain of chain implantation for much longer than usual. The pauses, rather than lessening the suffering, actually intensified it due to their frequent recurrence. After such torment, Tao Qingqing would likely not show Wen Wen a pleasant face for a considerable time.

Yet, Wen Wen enjoyed provoking her to the point of fury, making her wish she could kill him, only to then subdue her with various means until she was as docile as a kitten. In the half-year since capturing Tao Qingqing, Wen Wen and Tao Qingqing's relationship had cycled through this pattern several times, which he considered a form of entertainment.

Frankly, if Wen Wen weren't a pervert who always enraged Tao Qingqing just as she was about to yield, she might have already been carrying a terrifying monster, a half-vampire hybrid.

After leaving Tao Qingqing, Wen Wen’s attitude towards other monsters changed completely. Amidst the wails echoing through the cells, Wen Wen implanted chains in all combat-type monsters in the Disaster zone. He then wasted no time heading to the Catastrophe zone to deal with the four Catastrophe-level monsters: 'Pu Guang Tian Shi', 'Yan Bi Qing', 'Xiao Hong Bao', and 'Di Gong Guai Wu'.

Due to their strength, their resistance was far more intense than that of the monsters in the Disaster zone. However, under the powerful suppression of Wen Wen’s Catastrophe Prison Overseer state, they were all eventually implanted with control chains.

Once the chains entered their bodies, all monsters felt an invisible restraint. But Wen Wen never thought this would make them submit. He knew clearly that these monsters would go on a rampage as soon as they were released. Therefore, he had to give them a taste of hardship first!

He raised his hand high, then yanked it down. Countless slender black chains materialized in his hand. Every monster that had been implanted with a chain felt an irresistible, bone-chilling pain that manifested not only physically but also in their souls.

When Wen Wen released his hand, the pain vanished abruptly, and the monsters felt an immense relief.

“The pain you just experienced is the punishment you will receive if you disobey my orders. If you do not wish to endure such pain again, you must follow my commands completely!”

Through the black chains, Wen Wen’s voice could accurately reach the monsters’ ears.

“Furthermore, to help you remember this torment more clearly, I will let you experience it once more!”

Without hesitation, Wen Wen pulled the chains again. The entire prison was instantly filled with howls. Disaster-level monsters experienced five punishments, while Catastrophe-level monsters endured fifteen!

When it all stopped, Wen Wen was, in the minds of all the monsters, the image of a powerful devil who delighted in torment. However, Wen Wen didn’t care about their opinions; he had no good image in their eyes anyway. While they appeared respectful to him face-to-face, they likely cursed him and his family with all sorts of vile language behind his back. Rather than letting them secretly denigrate him, he preferred to deeply implant fear within their hearts.

“Next, I will lead you out of this prison to attack a demon stronghold. During this process, you are to bring back anything you deem valuable, defeat the demons, and bring them into the Containment Facility!”

Upon hearing that they were to attack demons, Pu Guang Tian Shi’s previously resistant expression softened, a hint of ferocity appearing on its face, clearly ready for slaughter. The angel race and demons were natural enemies. Among the reasons all monster species initially stepped into the real world, angels were rare in their pursuit not of the real world's abundance, but to hunt down demons who had entered reality. Of course, their objectives became less pure later on.

However, unlike those birdmen with complicated motives capable of suppressing their nature, this fellow had been a stone statue for most of the past few thousand years, its mind filled only with holy light. That was why it had initially intended to indiscriminately slaughter the residents of Spectrum Town.

But apart from it, the other monsters lacked motivation. The fearsome reputation of demons was well-known in the inner world, and they truly did not wish to clash with demons unless absolutely necessary. Furthermore, they had no desire to fight for Wen Wen.

Yet, they did not want to experience that pain again, and having been locked up for so long, going out for a breath of fresh air seemed like a good option. Most importantly, they couldn’t escape this hellish place on their own, so bringing other monsters in and watching them suffer the same torment they did would be an amusing pastime.

Subsequently, Wen Wen detailed the mission requirements and precautions to the monsters. The more detailed his instructions, the smarter the chains' judgment of their violations would be, which was more conducive to Wen Wen's control over them.

“Feel free to fight with all your might. If you are in mortal danger, you can activate the chains around your necks, and I can bring you back to the Containment Facility… However, if you return empty-handed, you may face my punishment!”

“Lastly, you are to forget your original identities. Do not attempt to contact anyone you knew before, nor try to harm ordinary people. The chains on your bodies can detect any of your violating actions.”

“To the outside world, you will have only one identity: an executor of the ‘Black Cross’!”

After explaining everything, Wen Wen instructed the jailers to distribute robes to the monsters, and he himself took a larger robe for later use. Once he released all the monsters, he would lose his direct ability to control them, so he chose to fight in his philosophical form. Wearing a robe then would make it less awkward for his opponents…

Upon exiting the Containment Facility, Wen Wen found Wang Junyi's home in ruins. It was evident that the demon who came looking for Wang Zixuan, failing to find him, had unleashed barbaric destruction upon his home. However, a house could be rebuilt, but a lost life was truly gone.

Next, Wen Wen had San Zaier drive to the vicinity of the battery processing plant and instructed the scarab to enter it. Invading a place full of demons, using a rat would be too easily discovered. Therefore, Wen Wen chose the smaller, more concealed scarab to observe the situation inside.

The exterior of the factory, like all abandoned processing plants in the world, consisted of dilapidated buildings and haphazardly overgrown flora. Nature's creations outnumbered man-made ones, naturally evoking a sense of desolation.

However, as Wen Wen controlled the beetle to crawl over a wall, the scene before his eyes changed dramatically!
