Chapter 587 The Camp and the Breakout

The association's camp was established outside the barrier, surrounded by a stone and earth wall over ten meters high. The wall showed no signs of being carved or chiseled, suggesting it was created by a supernormal using their powers.

Supernormals and armed assistants guarded each section of the wall, providing immense defensive capabilities to the camp.

Inside the camp were densely packed small stone and earth buildings, presumably also created by the supernormal.

Wen Wen lightly tapped a wall of one of the houses and smacked his lips, saying, "It's a waste for someone like this not to work in the construction industry, being a demon hunter is beneath him."

He was led to the living quarters of the roving hunters, located in a relatively central area. Each person was assigned an individual room. Although incredibly basic, it was far more comfortable than sleeping in a tent.

After the assistant who guided Wen Wen left, a somewhat sleazy figure slipped into Wen Wen's room. It was Chu Wei, whom Wen Wen hadn't seen in a long time and who possessed the power of immortality.

Upon seeing Chu Wei, Wen Wen laughed and said, "You're here too? I've been seeing you a lot in the news from the roving hunter terminals recently."

Chu Wei was now quite famous among the roving hunters, ranking high on the list of supernormals people least wanted to make enemies with. He also had a nickname: King of Foul Mouths.

He often roamed from place to place, specifically targeting arrogant monsters. These monsters would inevitably be driven to question their existence by Chu Wei's insults, and lacking the ability to kill him, could only endure his verbal abuse, which was truly pitiful.

So far, two disaster-level monsters had surrendered after being verbally abused by Chu Wei, and one ordered-level monster had gone insane from his insults, chasing Chu Wei all the way to the Hunter Association headquarters, where it was dismembered.

And the culprit behind all of this was a bottle of 'Mouth-Rancid Pills' that he had obtained from Wen Wen back then...

"I saw you outside the window, so I came over. When it comes to fame, how can I compare to you? You're now the supernormal who has reached the ordered realm the fastest," Chu Wei said with a playful grin.

Chu Wei was right. Wen Wen was more famous than Chu Wei within the Hunter Association because he was the fastest supernormal to reach the ordered realm in the Huafu Great Region in nearly a century.

As for why he wasn't the fastest in the entire Federation... it was because last year, the Sakura Great Region produced a freak who awakened with ordered realm power from the start.

Supernormals who progressed as rapidly as Wen Wen would almost certainly reach the true ordered realm and become high-ranking members of the Hunter Association.

There was even a slim chance that they could break through the limits of supernormals, attain enlightenment of their true selves, and become Punishers!

After a bout of mutual flattery, Chu Wei leaned closer to Wen Wen and whispered, "Old Wen, I know you have a lot of good stuff. Do you have anything like those Mouth-Rancid Pills? I want to buy them at a high price."

Chu Wei had truly benefited from the Mouth-Rancid Pills. Relying on his immortality, he had maximized the pills' effectiveness.

Wen Wen's eyes darted around for a moment, then he grinned mischievously and whispered to Chu Wei:

"I don't have Mouth-Rancid Pills, but if you want something to provoke people, I can get it for you. There's stink spray that makes you smell for at least three days after it touches your skin, photo-stealing cameras, hair-loss flashlights..."

There were many strange and peculiar items in the containment facility. Wen Wen felt some of them were too embarrassing to use himself, so he had kept them sealed away. But if Chu Wei wanted them, Wen Wen didn't mind selling them to him.

Initially, Chu Wei chuckled along with Wen Wen, but as he listened, he felt something was off. Why did Wen Wen have so many wicked things? Was this guy a pervert?

Just as the two were discussing things that would send their enemies into a frenzy, Wen Wen suddenly heard the roar of gunfire. His expression changed, and he flew out of the window, soaring into the sky towards Yueyue City.

Once he confirmed the location of the sound, Wen Wen's left eye twitched. He activated his Mirror Eye ability, forming a magic eye at the point of conflict, allowing him to see everything clearly.

He saw a group of colorful, fierce tigers charging out of Yueyue City, numbering around a hundred. They were led by an exceptionally stout, red, disaster-level tiger. All of them were wearing human clothes, and the larger ones used curtains or similar items to cover their private parts.

"Wearing clothes means these guys have a sense of shame like humans. But attacking the barrier with so few of them... are they looking for death?"

The dozen or so Golem soldiers in that direction opened fire on the tigers, unleashing bullets that were like small cannonballs, capable of turning tanks into scrap metal in an instant.

However, led by the red tiger, the hundred tigers activated their abilities, a combination of various powers working together. Before suffering more than half their casualties, they reached the edge of the barrier.

Then, under the protection of the other tigers, the red tiger roared at the barrier, spitting a beam of red light from its mouth. It struck the barrier, causing it to shake slightly, but it was only a tremor.

Before the barrier, these tigers endured the barrages from the Golem soldiers, emitting desperate whimpers. The sounds made Wen Wen's heart feel heavy.

"These monsters are probably a suicide squad, sacrificing themselves for the future of their species..."

"Come down, there's nothing to see. This sort of thing happens every day," Chu Wei beckoned to Wen Wen.

Wen Wen flew down from the sky and asked Chu Wei, "It happens every day? What are these tigers trying to do?"

This stalemate had actually been going on for five or six days, and Wen Wen and the other roving hunters had only been summoned today.

Chu Wei shrugged and said, "I arrived two days before you, so I know a bit more. These tigers are very smart and have been trying different methods to break through the barrier. They attempt it once every day around this time."

"From what others say, these tigers are experimenting with methods to break through the barrier. As soon as they figure out a viable way, the tiger clan will begin their breakthrough."

"If even one tiger carrying the virus breaks through the barrier and creates a large number of 'pseudo-tigers' outside, they can resolve the current crisis facing the tigers."

"Pseudo-tigers?" Wen Wen had never heard this term before.

Chu Wei replied, "Everyone in the camp calls them that. Although the infected creatures look like tigers, they are ultimately just demonic beasts with the appearance of tigers, hence they are called pseudo-tigers." Su Dan Novel Network

Wen Wen curled his lip and said, "These guys are still stupid. If it were me, I'd use the ordinary human hostages in the city as shields..."

Chu Wei chuckled and said, "Two days ago, the tigers in the city did just that. However, the hostages passed through the barrier without any hindrance, while the tigers holding them hostage were blocked inside and turned into mincemeat by the Golem soldiers..."

Wen Wen looked in the direction of the barrier with a hint of melancholy. If any one of those monsters were placed in a city, they could cause quite a stir. But gathered together in one city, they were as weak as ants.
