Huan Meng Lie Ren

Chapter 27 The Second Round

The two split up and fled. The Hunter Association members had no choice but to pursue them separately, as neither could be allowed to escape.

The mysterious cloaked woman and Uncle Gong went after Mr. L, while Lin Zhe Yuan and Lin Lu went after Grandi.

Although both were fleeing, the two members of the secret organizations fled in different ways. Mr. L was extremely fast, much faster than Wen Wen. Within moments, he had outrun Uncle Gong. Even the surrounding supporters could not effectively intercept him. Only the cloaked woman remained close behind.

As for Grandi, he did not run fast himself, but his peculiar abilities made those pursuing him run slower than him. Lin Zhe Yuan and Lin Lu found it very difficult to catch him.

However, running slower meant he needed more time to break through the cordon of supporters, which also resulted in him being completely covered by their firepower. Furthermore, the two pursuing him from behind prevented him from distracting the supporters.

...

Wilson sat in the corridor, his heart a mix of emotions.

The battle with Wen Wen had made him realize his own weakness, and Grandi's attitude after the fight made him understand that he was not highly valued by Mr. J.

“Why did I impulsively kill someone back then? But once you kill someone, there’s no turning back. I have no choice but to follow him to the bitter end; I can’t find a place for myself anywhere else.”

As Wilson was lamenting his fate, a loud explosion suddenly occurred. His ears went numb from the blast. The wooden door of the inn was blown open by the force of the explosion, and flames spread out from the doorway. The scorching wind forced Wilson to cover his face.

He quickly ran to the door and looked inside, only to see Mr. L and Grandi fleeing in separate directions, without taking him!

Wilson immediately panicked. He rushed to the end of the corridor, opened the window, and intended to climb down.

He felt a bit fortunate that the attackers’ attention was focused on Grandi and the other person, so they hadn’t noticed him.

However, he didn’t know that supporters were positioned at various vantage points and key access routes. It wasn’t that they hadn’t noticed him, but they hadn’t acted against him because Lin Zhe Yuan had previously instructed that this person was to be handled by Wen Wen.

At this moment, Wen Wen stood on the rooftop of the inn, watching Wilson climb down the pipes!

“Well, round two, begin!”

Wen Wen leaped down and stomped on Wilson’s body. Wilson, who had just reached the second floor, fell directly to the ground. If it weren’t for his steel wings puncturing the ground in time to cushion his fall, Wilson would have been knocked unconscious again from that impact alone.

With a graceful flip, Wen Wen landed steadily on the ground, aiming his gun at Wilson.

“Wait, don’t shoot, I surrender!” Wilson raised his hands, and the pair of wings behind him also rose.

“That man told me to do everything. It has nothing to do with me. I can’t control these wings myself, so please don’t hurt me.”

Wilson spoke to Wen Wen at high speed, hoping Wen Wen would spare him.

“Surrender… tsk, tsk, let’s put on the handcuffs then.” Wen Wen grinned, pulling out handcuffs and approaching Wilson as if he were completely unsuspecting.

Seeing that Wen Wen was close enough, a glint of ruthlessness flashed in Wilson’s eyes. He had not achieved his current status by leaving his fate to others. With only Wen Wen around, he could escape if he killed him.

“At this close distance, he shouldn’t be able to run!”

The two steel wings rapidly transformed into bladed chains, slashing towards Wen Wen!

After the attack, Wilson was shocked to find that Wen Wen not only showed no surprise but also had a slight smile on his lips.

Wen Wen certainly did not believe Wilson’s surrender. He knew very well that after killing someone, their thought processes undergo subtle changes, and in such a situation, expecting Wilson to surrender was unrealistic.

Moreover, the last thing Wen Wen wanted was for Wilson to surrender!

Facing the sudden attack, Wen Wen did not panic this time. Black matter condensed, forming the Disaster Gauntlet, which grabbed the attacking wings!

The closer the distance with such long offensive weapons, the easier their trajectory was to read and the easier it was to grab them!

After the previous battle, Wen Wen was well aware that those extremely sharp wings could not damage the Disaster Gauntlet at all, so Wen Wen intended to utilize this advantage in this fight!

With the wings grasped, Wen Wen spread his legs and, with all his might, swung them forcefully, sending Wilson flying into another room of the inn. Wen Wen then leaped in after him.

What he needed to do next was not something to be exposed to the supporters, so he had to change the battlefield!

Wilson, who fell into the room, was disoriented by the impact. Just as he was about to beg for mercy, a foot stomped on his back, knocking him out completely.

Then, Wen Wen grabbed one of the elongated steel wings with one hand and fired several shots at the other wing. The immense power of the demon-hunting bullets rendered it immobile. In this way, Wen Wen completely controlled both wings!

The battle was simple. Wilson, who had slightly injured Wen Wen last time, was completely no match for him this time!

While Wen Wen had only recently become a superpowered individual, Wilson was merely an ordinary person wielding supernatural power, not even a superpowered individual.

Once Wen Wen understood the abilities of the steel wings, Wilson became nothing more than a child wildly flailing a weapon in Wen Wen’s eyes!

Although the steel wings were agile and sharp, their force was not particularly strong. Wen Wen easily suppressed him in close combat.

“Now I need to figure out how to get this thing off his back. I went through all this trouble just to put these wings in prison…”

Wen Wen did not care if putting the wings in prison was too outlandish; what he needed now was to increase his strength.

He stood on Wilson’s body and tried to pull the wings off but found that they were very tightly attached. Simply applying brute force would not detach them.

However, while pulling, Wen Wen noticed that the wings were only attached to Wilson’s skin and had not penetrated his body…

So…

Wen Wen took out a small knife. He intended to cut away the skin where the wings were attached to Wilson.

Frankly, doing so was somewhat perverse, but it was worth it for the sake of acquiring a supernatural item.

When the cutting was halfway done, the steel wings gave up their resistance and automatically detached from Wilson, saving Wen Wen a lot of effort.

Afterward, Wen Wen placed one hand on the bloody wound and released a chilling aura, freezing the bleeding wound to prevent Wilson from dying from excessive blood loss.

Whether this would cause adverse consequences for Wilson was not within Wen Wen’s consideration.
