Chapter 636 The Laboratory

The scent of the lame werewolf was in the underground of this orphanage. Tao Qingqing bypassed the teachers and children at the entrance and quietly entered the orphanage.

The interior of the orphanage was deserted, with a layer of dust accumulated on the ground. It seemed that the entire orphanage only had those on the outside maintaining the 'peaceful facade.'

Following the scent, Tao Qingqing found a staircase leading to the basement. At the end of the stairs was a dilapidated iron door. There was a subtle aura on the iron door, indicating some kind of arrangement.

So, Tao Qingqing did not choose to enter through the iron door. Instead, she used crimson energy to drill a small hole next to the door and transformed into a bat to infiltrate the laboratory.

As hundreds of small bats took shape, Tao Qingqing felt a sense of oppression, as if something terrifying was choking her. Yet, she knew very well that there was no one else there but herself.

The laboratory was vast, much larger than the space above ground. At first glance, it was filled with countless jars and bottles containing plants and flesh, as well as some machines whose functions were unclear.

Tao Qingqing's target, the lame werewolf, was placed in a huge glass jar filled with green liquid. Its limbs were all bound by heavy chains, rendering it immobile. Notably, its crippled leg had been amputated, replaced by a new leg that resembled a twisted branch.

"I feel like if I stay here any longer, something very bad will happen… This place is not simple, and it's beyond my ability to handle!"

Wen Wen moved through the city at an extremely fast pace. Five days had passed, and they had still found nothing.

In two more days, Zhu Qipei's locator would expire. If Dr. Feng left this city, it would be very difficult to find him again.

After dealing with that giant, strange plant, the entire city seemed to fall silent. No similar plant monsters could be found, and they could only rely on the peculiar connection between Zhu Qipei and Dr. Feng to confirm that Dr. Feng was still within the city.

During this time, Wen Wen had also set up observation points, but the results were meager. Observation points were suitable for searching for unprepared monsters, but it was extremely difficult to find a powerful individual like Dr. Feng if he deliberately concealed his tracks.

Wen Wen had even considered revealing the aura of his containment facility to directly lure the enemy out.

However, doing so might attract not only Dr. Feng and Aishwaryaa, but also others. Therefore, he abandoned this dangerous idea.

Just as Wen Wen was becoming slightly agitated due to the prolonged lack of clues, he received information from Tao Qingqing via the chain – she had found a strange laboratory!

Through the connection between the chains, Wen Wen saw the scene that Tao Qingqing saw: the fungi, strange plants, and flesh fragments in the culture dishes… Without a doubt, this was Dr. Feng's laboratory.

This unexpected find made Wen Wen a little excited. They had searched for days without success, but they hadn't expected Tao Qingqing to find such crucial information.

He was about to teleport there himself to gather some intelligence when he stopped.

"No, I shouldn't go there myself. Once I appear, Dr. Feng might abandon the laboratory and hide. Only someone relatively weaker like Tao Qingqing would not arouse his suspicion."

"This might be an opportunity. If he personally deals with Tao Qingqing, and I manage to catch his scent, I can then launch a围攻 (wéigōng - siege/encirclement) against him with Zhu Qipei and Fengbei!"

Thus, Wen Wen communicated with Tao Qingqing through the chain: "Now, follow my instructions and investigate this laboratory. If nothing appears, forget it. If an enemy appears that you cannot defeat, resist briefly and surrender. I want to see if I can lure out a big fish with you."

After hearing Wen Wen's words, Tao Qingqing gave a self-mocking laugh. Wen Wen was using her as bait.

If she were just an ordinary person, Wen Wen would have immediately taken her away from danger. However, she was a prisoner.

Under Wen Wen's command, Tao Qingqing collected all the seemingly useful items in the laboratory and sent them into the containment facility.

Wen Wen would find time to hand these items over to the association's research institutions. This somewhat cumbersome process made Wen Wen feel that the containment facility lacked research personnel. If it had its own research team, there would be no need for such trouble.

After clearing out all the items on the surface, Tao Qingqing turned her attention to a large iron cabinet. There should be something important inside that cabinet.

After violently prying open the iron cabinet, Wen Wen saw eighteen trays placed inside. Each tray contained a glass jar filled with culture medium and a small glass bottle.

The glass jars contained limbs made of a mixture of plants and flesh, while the small glass bottles contained prepared viruses.

Upon seeing the third jar, Wen Wen's pupils contracted. The shape of the limb was remarkably similar to the monster he had slain in the mine. If it was indeed stripped from that monster, it would mean that Dr. Feng had at least eighteen sets of arrangements!

And so far, only two sets had been destroyed by Wen Wen and his team. The remaining sixteen sets were enough to cause a disaster!

Wen Wen said to Tao Qingqing, "Collect all of these items. Also, see if there is any address information for these jars nearby…"

"Wait, stop for a moment. Someone is coming… right behind you."

Tao Qingqing's body stiffened. She slowly turned around and saw a man wearing a white tuxedo and a green hat standing behind her!

She knew this man was Dr. Feng, possessing the strength of Disaster Superior. He was the target of Wen Wen's current operation, and she was definitely no match for him.

Dr. Feng sat on the experimental bench, looking curiously at Tao Qingqing and saying, "Madam, this is an illegal intrusion. Please tell me why you are doing this?"

Tao Qingqing replied cautiously, "I'm investigating the disappearance of that werewolf…"

Dr. Feng suddenly realized and said, "Oh, is that werewolf your friend? Then you should thank me. I healed its leg and made it even stronger."

He gently clapped his hands, and the large culture tank containing the werewolf was opened. The werewolf slowly walked out and glared at Tao Qingqing with glowing green eyes.

"Specimen 24, come and meet your friend."

Upon hearing Dr. Feng's words, the werewolf let out a low growl and lunged towards Tao Qingqing. Just as they were about to touch, it unleashed a kick towards Tao Qingqing from a distance. Its leg, composed of plant roots, instantly bloomed like a flower and coiled around Tao Qingqing.

Tao Qingqing transformed into a bat and appeared behind the werewolf, leaving over a dozen wounds on its body. These were already fatal injuries, yet the werewolf still staggered to its feet and charged at Tao Qingqing with full vitality.

Dr. Feng took out a small notebook and said to Tao Qingqing, "You're quite ruthless towards your friend, but the monsters I've modified are not so easily defeated."

He had already regarded Tao Qingqing as a test subject, and was now observing her strength!
