The monsters were actively engaged in rescue operations throughout the Dim domain, while the Cave Monster, carrying Wen Wen and two rabbits, ambled slowly towards Qingqin Prairie.
Tied to the Cave Monster's tail was an Undead Spirit, with a garishly colored green alms bowl perched atop its head.
Wen Wen was testing the capabilities of the Forgiveness Alms Bowl. The bowl itself wasn't particularly strong, but it could serve a significant purpose within the Dim domain, thus its testing could only be conducted within it.
After dismantling the Undead Spirit into monster sticks, Wen Wen mercifully put it out of its misery.
Ultimately, Wen Wen confirmed that the Forgiveness Alms Bowl could completely isolate the power of the Dim domain. The golden light it emitted created an independent space, unaffected by the Dim domain's influence. Within this golden light, Wen Wen could either collect monsters into the containment facility or kill them directly.
Furthermore, the communication function of the Hunting Terminal could be restored within the golden light. However, only Wen Wen's own terminal was restored; the base stations remained inoperative, rendering it largely useless.
Wen Wen had attempted to mimic the golden light effect using Black Body power, but all his efforts ended in failure.
After completing his research, Wen Wen used red spray paint to write a few characters on the alms bowl before putting it away. These characters read, "I forgive you," which, with this modification, made the Forgiveness Alms Bowl truly live up to its name.
As dusk fell, everyone finally entered the territory of Qingqin Prairie. Compared to other areas in the Dim domain, the environment here was much better, boasting clean water sources and fertile pastures. However, all of it lay abandoned, with animal carcasses scattered everywhere, and occasionally, the remains of despairing humans.
On the open wilderness, several hunched-over monsters were feeding on the corpses on the ground. These were not Undead Spirits from the Inner World, but ghouls that had naturally spawned from the large number of corpses. At this moment, these ghouls were still quite weak and posed little threat to humans, so Wen Wen only killed the stronger ones, leaving the weaker ones to their own devices.
Given the current state of Qingqin Prairie, the existence of ghouls was quite necessary. Prolonged accumulation of corpses could lead to plagues, which were far more terrifying than mere ghouls. With these creatures cleaning up the bodies, many risks were reduced.
After circling the vast Qingqin Lake, Wen Wen and his companions stopped at the edge of a forest. Deep within this forest lay the Rabbit Village.
Not long after entering the forest, Wen Wen sensed two watchful gazes and immediately ordered the Cave Monster to halt. The Cave Monster also felt the threat, its body lowering slightly, emitting an engine-like sound from its throat.
Wen Wen said, looking towards the rear, "Come out. I see you."
The forest remained silent, with two figures standing rigidly but making no sound. Intelligent pursuers would not be tricked by such a tactic.
Wen Wen said helplessly, "I really see you, one red and one gray..."
Only after he said this did the two figures emerge from the shadows of the forest. They were two wolf-beasts, each as large as a bull. One had fur as red as blood, while the other had a row of gray fur along its back.
The strength of both these wolf-beasts was close to the Mid-Order, with each capable of overwhelming a Cave Monster without injury.
Bai Xiaobai pointed at the two wolf-beasts with surprise and exclaimed, "Gray Mane! Crimson Robe! You two bad guys dare to enter Rabbit Village territory again? Do you want to attack us again?"
The two wolf-beasts shook their heads in unison. Gray Mane pulled out a carrot-shaped tag from its fur.
"We are now the patrol captains of Rabbit Village. Why are you bringing outsiders to Rabbit Village?"
Bai Xiaobai's expression turned strange, then she hid behind Wen Wen and said, "This is the reinforcement I've recruited. They are much stronger than you two."
She then said to Wen Wen, "These two are sworn enemies of our Rabbit Village, always causing trouble for us. They are really, really bad."
The two giant wolves looked at each other and said, "How do we prove they are the reinforcements you recruited, and not Undead Spirits in disguise?"
Wen Wen stroked his chin and took out two beef legs, throwing them at the feet of the two giant wolves.
"Don't think you can fool us with bribery," said the Crimson Robe giant wolf, with one eye fixed on the beef leg and the other barely looking at Wen Wen.
The Gray Mane giant wolf, however, had already picked up a bone in its mouth, but it was forcing itself not to swallow it. Seeing this, Wen Wen was convinced that these two imposing giant wolves were, in reality, no different from huskies in their habits.
He didn't want to waste time with them, so he released his aura, causing the two giant wolves to instantly tuck their tails between their legs. From this aura alone, they could tell that Wen Wen's strength was even greater than that of the missing Village Chief Bai Xiaoman!
With this level of strength, coupled with the goodwill of the beef legs and Bai Xiaobai's corroboration, the two wolves finally believed Wen Wen's identity.
Subsequently, Wen Wen asked Bai Xiaobai to negotiate with the two giant wolves and finally understood the whole story. As Bai Xiaobai had said, these two giant wolves were the sworn enemies of Rabbit Village. Calling them sworn enemies was more akin to them being quarrelsome neighbors.
These two giant wolves had previously acted like bullies elsewhere. Later, their wolf pack was wiped out by the Mingwang Secret Cult, and the two of them fled shamefully to Qingqin Prairie. Afterward, they discovered Rabbit Village and intended to occupy it, using the rabbits as a food reserve. Thus, they attempted to capture a rabbit to threaten Rabbit Village into submission. However, to their surprise, four rabbits of the Lower Order, Bai Xiaoxi and Bai Xiaolan among them, managed to thwart their plans repeatedly. Each time they declared, "We'll be back," they were driven away again and again. Eventually, they were captured by the rabbits and forced to sign a contract, vowing never to eat rabbits or humans, before being released by the rabbits.
The more the two giant wolves thought about it, the more uneasy they became, and they frequently came to cause trouble for Rabbit Village. For example, they would defecate at the village entrance or throw firecrackers into the village in the middle of the night, doing anything that was demeaning. Rabbit Village would, in turn, retaliate accordingly. Over time, these two giant wolves became familiar with every rabbit in Rabbit Village. Although their relationship was not good, they could still look out for each other if something happened.
After the undead disaster struck, the undead would not refrain from attacking the giant wolves just because they were not humans. Furthermore, due to the undead, it became increasingly difficult for them to obtain food. Therefore, the two giant wolves conferred and defected to Rabbit Village two days prior. Firstly, there was food here, and secondly, Rabbit Village's barrier could offer them some protection. The price, however, was that the two giant wolves would have to patrol for Rabbit Village, making the area safer.
Led by the two giant wolves, Wen Wen and his group passed through a rather localized rune barrier and entered a fairytale-like village. However, Wen Wen's imagined scenario of bunny girls and bunny lolis everywhere did not materialize. The first beings he saw were a group of large, burly rabbit uncles and aunties...
