With the help of Pioneer 60, Wen Wen could begin his conquest of the Washington Sanctuary.
At his level of strength, many minor tricks became meaningless; sufficient power could simply overwhelm any obstacle.
Coupled with Lovis, a trump card he could summon at any moment, Wen Wen had three Cataclysm-level powerhouses on his side. Even if the Sanctuary had any schemes in place, Wen Wen viewed them as futile attempts, like a mantis trying to stop a chariot.
He, along with Pioneer 60, arrived outside the Washington Sanctuary.
It appeared as a large tea house, with people coming and going at the entrance, giving an impression of lively activity.
However, Pioneer 60 immediately recognized it as a mere illusion.
Within a radius of several hundred meters, there were hardly any living souls. The occasional passersby paid no attention to the tea house.
To the residents of Jiugang City, this place was practically nonexistent.
"When I was searching for people from the Society of Truth, I scoured the entirety of Jiugang City. How did I not notice anything unusual here back then?" Pioneer 60 lamented.
He had been abducted in Jiugang City and sent to a secret base of the Society of Truth to be used as experimental material. After escaping, he had returned to Jiugang City with the sole aim of eradicating the Society of Truth, but he had found nothing.
Wen Wen smiled faintly. "This place is not as simple as you imagine. It would not be easy for anyone other than me to deal with it."
Without entering, one could not ascertain the situation within.
Therefore, Wen Wen placed his hand on a section of the wall. The hidden barrier there instantly dissolved, revealing an entrance large enough for two people.
"The guardian here can exert Cataclysm-level strength within this place. I will handle him."
"Before that, please act as my subordinate and do not reveal your identity or power. Once the opponent's backup plan is revealed, it will be your stage."
Pioneer 60 did not reply, but the murderous intent in his eyes conveyed everything.
Upon entering the Sanctuary, Wen Wen found its structure to be identical to the America-Canada Sanctuary. He appeared in the garden on the outer edge of the Sanctuary.
In contrast to the false liveliness outside, the interior was genuinely bustling.
Members of the Society of Truth were visible everywhere, some studying forbidden knowledge, others devising schemes against the Hunter Association.
Wen Wen and Pioneer 60's appearance immediately drew everyone's attention, shattering the peaceful atmosphere. All the members of the Society of Truth readied their attacks, prepared to strike at Wen Wen and Pioneer 60 at any moment.
If looks could kill, Wen Wen would have been killed countless times over. Thus, no matter how fierce their gazes were, Wen Wen remained unfazed.
"Excuse me, is the administrator here? I have something I need to discuss with him," Wen Wen asked innocently.
A burly man stepped forward. "Who are you, and what is your purpose?"
Wen Wen cleared his throat. "Ah, well, it's like this. I am the owner of this property. I was away for a while, and you all have occupied it. I want it back."
"I will not sue you for illegally occupying my property, but I do require some compensation from you, as a depreciation fee for this house."
The expressions of everyone present changed drastically. They were aware of the fall of the America-Canada Sanctuary, and when Wen Wen appeared, they had a bad premonition. However, when Wen Wen finally revealed his identity, all their hopes vanished, and they understood that their only path was to fight Wen Wen to the death. This was because, after the fall of the America-Canada Sanctuary, not a single member of the Society of Truth had returned alive!
Therefore, as soon as Wen Wen finished speaking, attacks came pouring down like raindrops. The members of the Society of Truth displayed a remarkably consistent attack method: all sorts of arcane spells. Such attacks, as long as they did not exceed a certain limit, were meaningless to Wen Wen.
Wen Wen gently waved his right hand in front of him, and a black hole-like object appeared in his grasp. All the arcane spells were absorbed into it. These spells were composed of pure energy and were of low power levels, allowing the Cataclysm Gauntlet to absorb them completely.
"Is there anyone who can take me to see your boss? If not, I'll just go myself..."
From the hem of Wen Wen's robe, countless chains suddenly surged out, filling the surrounding space and then retracting abruptly. On the scene, apart from Wen Wen and Pioneer 60, no other superpowered individuals remained.
Pioneer 60's eyes flashed with a stream of data, and he then looked at Wen Wen with confusion. Wen Wen's previous attack was not high in power, yet it was something he couldn't comprehend.
The two proceeded through the garden and entered the main gate of the Washington Sanctuary.
An old man, bald on top with white curly hair on the sides, looked at Wen Wen with a calm expression.
Wen Wen looked at the old man with surprise. "You look like a professor. Your appearance is exactly like the portrait of a scientist I saw in my elementary school classroom."
The old professor ignored Wen Wen's playful remark. "I am Elian. Sensing the commotion outside, I guessed it was you. You shouldn't have come."
"Strange, why shouldn't I come to my own place?"
Wen Wen did not attack immediately because this professor, who only possessed True Order strength, gave Wen Wen a peculiar feeling.
"This place has changed hands for a thousand years. It no longer belongs to you, but to us, the Society of Truth."
"And you don't think that after the events at the America-Canada Sanctuary, we would let you take the Sanctuary so easily, do you?"
"If you hadn't come, nothing would have happened. But since you're here today, you're not leaving!"
Wen Wen's lips twitched. "Hoo, your tone is even stronger than my Gong Bao Ding's foot odor."
Then, Wen Wen's expression froze. Footsteps sounded from behind him, and a strange figure blocked the Sanctuary's main entrance. The person's body was semi-transparent, with internal organs clearly visible. However, unlike normal human organs, these were all composed of mechanical parts. He was completely hairless, and his gear-like pupils stared at Wen Wen with no emotion.
"There really is something here. My feeling was correct."
Wen Wen had previously surveyed this place and sensed something he didn't understand within the Sanctuary, which was why he hadn't entered rashly. It was only after that that he sought out Pioneer 60.
Black energy emanated from Elian. Now empowered by the Sanctuary, he possessed Cataclysm-level strength within its confines.
"Our Society of Truth once conducted an experiment: the creation of an artificial deity, by extracting the abilities of countless contained entities and converging them into one person."
"The one before you is the sole successful product, and you will be the first Cataclysm-level enemy he kills!"
