Once he understood the value of this city, Lovis almost immediately felt the urge to plunder it.
But he quickly suppressed his selfish thoughts, a premonition of something ominous rising in his heart.
If this city held such immense value, then just how powerful would its owner, Wen Wen, be?
And beyond this city, did he possess any other trump cards? Could a person like that compromise so easily with just a little threat, or were there other reasons involved?
Lovis's inner turmoil did not show on his face. He followed Wen Wen to the end of the street, where a black gate stood.
"Behind the gate is another transit point. You must pass through this transit point to reach the real world."
Wen Wen opened the black gate and looked at Lovis with a smile, saying, "Are you really not considering going back to live in that place you were just in? It's beautiful with clear waters and lush mountains, and you were the strongest there. I'm almost envious of that kind of life."
Lovis snorted softly and still stepped through the black gate. At this moment, all he wanted was to get far away from Wen Wen. As for other matters, he would consider them later, once he was more familiar with this world.
Beyond the black gate lay a long corridor. The lighting here was dim, giving off a gloomy atmosphere.
To Lovis, this place was even more uncomfortable than the false world, as if some malevolent entity was staring at him, making him feel greatly threatened.
Along the sides of the corridor were metal railings, resembling prison cells. Each cell was excessively large; even Lovis's true form would not feel cramped inside.
Lovis shook his head abruptly, "Why am I thinking of such ominous things? Only swine are locked up in places like this. It would be better to die than be imprisoned here."
"However, this place is eerie and gives me a bad feeling. I should leave here quickly."
Wen Wen walked slowly, as if he were guiding Lovis to admire the sights of the containment facility. As they neared the end, Lovis's body suddenly stiffened.
This was because the cells on either side of him held prisoners.
Prisoners with the same Star Realm God strength as him!
One of them emanated an aura of extreme evil, appearing to be a Star Realm God from the Ancestor of Fiends faction.
The other was a pale-faced youth, whom Lovis felt a sense of familiarity with.
Lovis tapped his temple, and a rune that helped to sort memories appeared. He instantly recalled where he had seen this person before.
It was in a dream!
More than six thousand years ago, before Lovis had ignited his divine fire, he had experienced a nightmare from which he could barely awaken.
He was trapped in an unawakable nightmare, where he was tormented for hundreds of years.
Eventually, he broke the rules of that nightmare, awakened from the dream, and used the gains from the dream to ignite his divine fire and become a Star Realm God.
After becoming a Star Realm God, Lovis wanted to find the person who had caused him to have that nightmare and make them pay the price.
But upon a brief inquiry, once he learned of that person's identity, he chickened out.
That person was considered a powerhouse among the Spirit Realm Gods, a Spirit Realm God who presided over the authority of dreams, respectfully addressed by some Star Realm Gods as 'Huan Meng Lao Xian'!
How could Huan Meng Lao Xian, a Spirit Realm God, be locked up here!
Lovis gripped the railing, looking at Yan Zu in disbelief. His understanding of things had been somewhat shaken.
Yan Zu looked at the big white man strangely. He didn't remember knowing this person; why was this person acting as if he had seen a ghost?
Throughout Yan Zu's long life, he had entered the dreams of countless people. It was impossible for him to remember every dreamer.
*Slap! Slap!*
Several black whips suddenly appeared, leaving several scars on Yan Zu's body. As the whips struck Yan Zu, Lovis's facial muscles twitched.
Mo Gong, with his disheveled hair, exuding a cool, somewhat melancholic aura, emerged from the darkness and whipped Aiger a few more times.
Every time he came to inspect the prisoners, he would give each of them a "greeting" first. Aiger had grown accustomed to it, while Yan Zu initially felt humiliated but eventually grew used to it.
Because if he displayed too much grief and indignation, it would excite Mo Gong, who would then deal with him in more "creative" ways, making the whip strikes feel relatively comfortable in comparison.
"Huan Meng Lao Xian is a Spirit Realm God, how can you all..."
"How can we what?" Mo Gong turned his head and glanced at Lovis, asking curiously.
Lovis immediately wilted. He saw nothing in Mo Gong's gaze, but he could confirm one thing: Mo Gong did not take him seriously at all.
"It's nothing, nothing..." Lovis took a step back, meekly responding.
Mo Gong pointed at Lovis, "Boss, is this a new prisoner? He's so cowardly, it's no fun playing with him."
Wen Wen narrowed his eyes and smiled, "You can make him regain his spirit first, and then play with him."
Listening to Wen Wen's words, Lovis's legs felt weak. For some reason, he felt a natural fear towards Mo Gong.
Wen Wen understood this perfectly. If Wen Wen hadn't inherited the containment facility, he might have been afraid of Mo Gong too.
Despite Mo Gong only possessing Star Realm God strength now, he was once a Heavenly Realm God. Who knew if he had retained even a sliver of Heavenly Realm God power.
Furthermore, as the containment facility's power gradually recovered, Wen Wen was unsure of how much Mo Gong's strength had recuperated.
"Didn't you say you could let me go to the outside world?"
Lovis leaned against the railing, his breathing somewhat rapid, and asked Wen Wen.
Wen Wen dug at his nose, "You believe whatever I say? No wonder you were always bullied in the inner world."
Lovis's face contorted in fear, countless runes appeared, and his figure instantly vanished.
He had no will to fight; he only wanted to leave this place.
However, what happened next filled him with despair. No matter how he walked, he could not reach the end. It seemed to be a loop, with only a vast empty space and ten massive cells.
Beyond that, there was nothing.
Wen Wen and Mo Gong didn't even glance at Lovis, instead starting a conversation on the side.
"I arranged a place for this guy, but he wasn't satisfied and insisted on coming out from there. So I had to send him to you. Won't that be too much trouble?"
Mo Gong's handsome face revealed an evil smile, and demonic energy emanated from his body.
"Of course not. With another Star Realm God as a 'pillar', the power we can unleash will be even stronger. I'm overjoyed."
"'Pillar'..." Lovis looked at the miserable states of Aiger and Yan Zu, cold sweat drenching his forehead. "Wait, I'm willing to go back! Don't make me a pillar!"
Wen Wen and Mo Gong looked at Lovis simultaneously, revealing sinister smiles. "Want to go back? It's not that easy anymore."
