Chapter 210: Chapter 210: Special Business Trip Part I
For Victoria, business trips were a routine for every client she met. However, she felt this trip was a little different than usual because Matthias had asked her to wear a newly purchased summer dress. Even though they were the only ones on the trip, Victoria felt Matthias was being overly polite, as he seemed to treat it like a vacation.
Victoria really didn’t want Matthias to have too much fun, as he’d already taken the time to go on a business trip she’d longed for. Was this just a trap set up by Matthias? For now, she felt like asking Marcel directly. For some reason, Marcel was driving this sedan instead of to the project site. It’s getting more and more suspicious that Marcel is also planning something against her.
"Marcel, where are we going now?" Victoria asked innocently.
Matthias furrowed his eyebrows. "Shouldn’t we put all our things away first?"
Victoria lowered her head in shame, gripping her husband’s hand tightly. "I forgot."
Meanwhile, Marcel could only shake his head as he stared at the couple making out through the glass. "You guys get some rest first. I’ll wake you up when we get to the resort."
Victoria’s eyes widened. "Wait a minute! Are we staying at a resort? Not a hotel?"
"So what if we stay at a resort? Staying in a hotel is so boring, and I’m actually still traumatized by the idea of staying in one."
"Are you still traumatized from being trapped in hotels several times?"
Matthias took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly. "I’ve had enough of staying in hotels anymore. That’s why I actually prefer staying at private resorts. Don’t worry, we’re actually working here."
"Seeing your very strange behavior last night, you are very suspicious today."
Marcel briefly let the couple drop off all their belongings at the private resort. Although Victoria had previously complained about not treating the business trip as just another vacation, her mindset immediately changed as she surveyed the luxurious surroundings of the private resort. She ran around happily, feeling as if it were their own home.
"This place is so beautiful! I didn’t expect you to be so good at choosing resorts, even though we were only going to Yanmang for a business trip."
Matthias wrapped his arms around his wife’s waist. "Actually, I haven’t finished showing you everything yet. Now, I want to take you somewhere before we head to the project site." His eyes flickered to Marcel, as if giving Marcel a strong signal for what to do now.
"I think staying at this resort is more than enough. I don’t need much else."
"You will definitely regret what you said earlier."
Victoria was still curious about where her husband wanted to go before heading to the project site. It was getting late, so was he taking her to the beach to see the evening sky? However, for some reason, she still felt something was off about Marcel’s driving. She strongly suspected he was deliberately hiding something. Furthermore, the route she had been driving seemed familiar.
"Matthias, don’t tell me you wanted to take me to the flower garden that time!"
Matthias scratched his head sheepishly. He hadn’t expected his wife to be smarter than him. "Finally, you’ve found out."
"But wasn’t the flower garden closed because of the storm? I bet it still hasn’t been maintained yet."
"Is it true that the flower garden is still not maintained?"
Victoria blinked nervously. "What do you mean?"
At the same time, Marcel parked the sedan in a parking lot. Matthias got out and invited his wife to take his hand and walk them to the flower garden.
Victoria still can’t believe the flower garden has been opened to the public. She remembers the last time it was in disrepair and the controversy surrounding the transfer of ownership for an apartment project. Even at that time she was very angry to hear it and wanted to fight the greedy businessmen because they did not preserve nature.
However, her thoughts immediately changed as she gazed upon the flower garden, which was even more beautiful than before. Her eyes welled up with tears as she gazed around the garden, adorned with romantic decorations and a variety of colorful flowers.
As soon as she and Matthias entered the flower garden, they immediately encountered Lena standing alone, holding a single rose. Victoria was very surprised to suddenly encounter Lena in a place like this.
"Lena, what are you doing here?"
Lena smiled warmly as she handed Victoria a rose. "Actually, I came here because I heard some good news from someone."
Victoria’s gaze immediately fell on her innocent-looking husband. "Is this what you’re doing?"
"By the way, I’m going to the toilet for a moment," said Matthias in a hurry, leaving his wife alone.
Victoria was still curious about Matthias’s plans. She continued her walk around the flower garden, surrounded by their photos and heart balloons. Her eyes grew teary as she gazed at the beauty of the garden, and she sensed that Matthias had purposely designed this place. That was why he had left her so suddenly.
Now she ran into Jennifer and Sawyer, who were also visiting the flower garden. Once again, she was surprised by something she hadn’t expected.
"Jennifer, Sawyer, what are you doing here?"
Jennifer immediately hugged her friend tightly. "I’m so happy to see you now. You truly deserve Matthias’ love." She took a moment to hand her friend a rose. "This is for you."
Sawyer put an affectionate arm around his lover’s shoulders. "I actually didn’t expect Matthias to find such a beautiful flower garden in Yanmang. We were just invited here to enjoy our date."
Jennifer patted her friend’s shoulder enthusiastically. "Anyway, I pray that your relationship doesn’t fall apart again. I’m so tired of you constantly complaining to me about trivial matters."
Victoria burst into tears of joy as she looked at her two best friends. "Thank you for supporting Matthias and my relationship, which has grown stronger despite the storms that have befallen us."
"By the way, why don’t you go around some more? We already walked around earlier, and this garden is absolutely beautiful," Sawyer suggested.
