Chapter 152: Is My Husband Hate Me?

Chapter 152: Chapter 152: Is My Husband Hate Me?

Victoria is increasingly disappointed with her husband’s lack of conscience towards her. She has given him the opportunity to empathize with her, but he still ignores her, feeling he no longer has the right to help her. Because of their intense arguments throughout their marriage, she now has trouble sleeping.

Victoria used to love sleeping in the guest room. However, now, when she fights with her husband and wants to sleep in the guest room, she can’t. Due to her husband’s constant pampering, she can’t sleep alone in the guest room.

On the other hand, she was very reluctant to look at her husband’s face. Therefore, she decided to sleep in her husband’s room early before he finished showering. While her husband was taking a long shower in the bathroom, she cried loudly until her heart felt relieved. Actually, she still didn’t want to divorce her husband. Was there any other way besides divorce? Why did her husband suddenly want a divorce when their relationship had always been fine? She was very sure that someone had threatened her husband today that made him change his mind. She cried for so long that her eyes became swollen.

Matthias actually heard his wife crying. He had finished showering, but he had deliberately turned on the water to make it look like he was still in the shower. Now he wanted to let his wife cry until she was satisfied.

"Victoria, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings."

A few minutes later, Matthias emerged from the bathroom, weak, staring at his sleeping wife. He’d actually lingered in the bathroom a few minutes, so she could cry freely. He didn’t want her to bottle up her sadness, which would cause her heart to ache. He also cried in the shower because he felt incredibly guilty for hurting his wife, who loved him so much.

He slowly lay down next to his wife, covering them with a blanket. He briefly planted a sweet kiss on her temple, gently stroking her head.

"Matthias... don’t leave me."

Matthias was shocked to hear his wife suddenly say such a thing, even though she was asleep. He suspected she was stressed and had a dream about it because he had been overly pushy.

"I don’t really want us to divorce. But this is the only way I can protect you from all the bad people. I don’t want you to get hurt again."

Before he finally separated from his wife, he wanted to take this golden opportunity to cuddle her while she slept. Even though she absolutely hated him now, he still wanted to cuddle her. He admitted he couldn’t sleep soundly without their embrace.

The next day, Victoria returned to her usual cold demeanor, just as she had with amnesia. She didn’t care what her husband wanted to do to her, but he had already left her before she woke up. All she had now was his homemade omelet. She suspected he still loved her, but didn’t dare say so openly.

"Matthias... don’t you hate me? Why do you still want to cook me breakfast? You should be even more cruel to me!"

As she tasted her husband’s omelet, which always made her heart flutter, she couldn’t hold back her tears. She had decided to be tough today. However, she couldn’t do it because her husband was confusing her. Would she have to sign their divorce papers later?

Victoria finally decided to talk to Jennifer over lunch. She had been contemplating this for quite some time. Her heart wouldn’t be at peace if she kept thinking about the problems she’d experienced yesterday. If she confided in Jennifer, perhaps she could help her resolve this complex issue. After all, Jennifer had experienced something similar to hers.

During lunch, Victoria told Jennifer everything she had experienced the night before. Jennifer, who overheard the conversation, even choked on her own food. Jennifer was understandably shocked, as she couldn’t believe that a couple whose relationship had been so sweet could end for such an inconceivable reason.

"Wait a minute! So you really want to sign your divorce papers?!"

Victoria nodded weakly. "It can’t be helped. I have to comply with his wishes."

"But I find this completely unreasonable. Why would Matthias suddenly want a divorce? I still can’t accept his bizarre reasoning. If his mother didn’t approve of your relationship, why did he still want to fight for you two years ago? Why would he give up now?"

"This is what made me feel like something was off about him. I actually felt like Matthias had been hiding something important from me all this time. I suspected that something important was the key to the end of our relationship."

Jennifer gripped her best friend’s hands tightly. "Because he dared to be cruel to you, I want you to be cruel to him too."

"But I can’t bear to do it. He’s always loved me."

"Is he still being nice to you now? Doesn’t he think you’re hurt now?" She rolled her eyes. "Victoria, don’t be so weak in front of him. I actually want you to be cruel to your husband so he realizes what he’s done."

"Will Matthias hate me even more?"

"If he still loves you, of course he won’t hate you."

"So, what do you want me to do now?"

On the other hand, it was rare for Matthias to not invite his wife to lunch with him. He decided he didn’t want to be too sweet and make it difficult for her to sign their divorce papers. Now his task was to approach his friend and his greatest enemy. For the first time since his return from America, he took the initiative to invite his friend to lunch with him. He was disgusted by this situation, especially since his friend had so boldly deceived his mother. That was what made him so angry.

"Matthias, I’m actually still a bit unaccustomed to having lunch with you today. Don’t you usually ignore me?"

Matthias flashed a sly smile. "Actually, I asked you out for lunch because I want to marry you."
